Nintendo 3DS - Best Handheld Today

Made virion a Dark Knight. Want him with he lifetaker skill. Don’t think I’ll be comitting him to that though.

Contrary to rally, my Avatar has been killing shit with sol and a few other passive buffs. She wrecks shit solo and paired with her daughter kinda makes it impossible to die. Chrom is actually the only one of my units I find at potential risk.

Bought DK94 game is still a bastard.

Virion should only get that skill if your planning to pass that to a child…even then he has better skills to pass down. Him actually being a Dark Knight is horrible for him due to his low magic and his high skill not being used for anything.

I wouldn’t say it’s impossible for you to die with any character setup as Miracle/Counter can kill any character in the game, and Critical hits are always a factor(Excalibur…nuff said). Galeforce+2 or more Rally skills is ideal late game because you maximize your turns with each character and have a strong formation on your opponents turn, or likewise make a considerably strong boosted unit after Olivia’s Special Dance.

Example:

Chroms turn has ended, Female Morgan kills a unit to activate Galeforce, Morigan moves adjacent to Chrom and Rally’s Spectrum/Heart(+6 to all stats+1 movement), Olivia moves to Chrom to activate special dance(+2 to Str/Mag/Def/Res) and give Chrom another turn. so in total before support Chrom gets +8 in most stats and has the benefit of support with Morgan if positioned correctly. Thats where skills like Dual Support+ come in effect because +20 hit/avoid/critical/critical avoid along with those stat boost before being paired up is down right godlike. Lets not even talk about broken weapons…oh ok just one Skill combo im messing with right now.

Inigo/SwordMaster: Skills: Wrath, Counter, Astra/Luna, Vantage, Limit Breaker. Weapon: Sol Katti.

What does this mean? well if Inigo somehow gets to half health or less, he becomes a problem at range 1. Vantage makes him move first regardless and Wrath gives him +20 Crit. the Sol Katti has base 50 Crit and 100 hit making it one of the most OP weapons for a Swordmaster, so before stats/support you have 70% critical. Astra makes it so that he will blow through pretty much anything in the game, Luna if your worried about Generals/Warriors for instant death. Counter is there so he ensures that no one is running up on him for free, however this can be replaced with Aegis to help prevent Mages and bowmen from picking him off at the 40HP or lower mark. You can also throw a Levin Sword or Amatsu on him instead to have similar effects at range 1-2.

Personally I’d switch out counter for Vengence if your Inigo can learn it, means he’ll be doing some serious damage even if he doesn’t crit.

Is Sol Katti worth staying in swordmaster for btw, I always just grab Astra and Swordfaire then reclass to assassin for the skillcaps and bows (they are pretty handy on galeforce units since you can just snipe one guy then change to sword so you don’t get murked in enemy phase).

Inigo can learn Vengeance with the right Parent. I personally use the above skill set to troll my friends Vaike. My end game Inigo is a Bowknight that rapes Assassins, Bowmen, Warriors, Swordmasters with the skill set of Swordbreaker, Bowbreaker, Counter, Hit+20, Limit Breaker. As weapons go I use the Double Bow, Astra, and the Ragnell.(it’s what I have to use on Lunatic)

As far as Vengeance goes my main file Severa with Vaike as her Father passing down Counter is the best user of this skill imo. With Armshift, Sol, Vengeance, Counter and Limit Breaker makes her the best female Hero in the game. Sol will have a 60% chance of activation and will have priority over Vengeance if ordered correctly, however Vengeance will have a 100% activation rate if Sol doesn’t activate. Counter is obvious on why it’s there and Armshift with her makes it so she will never break weapons as her luck is high enough to ensure a 100% activation rate. So dumping Forged/Legendary weapons on her is a wise investment since she wont break them. This along with her high attack stat (57 with Limit breaker) makes her a valuable unit.

Also Swordmaster> Assassin if you have the right skillset and Amatsu/Sol Katti/Levin Sword. My favorite Swordmaster is Owain because his oddly higher Magic makes him competent in using the Levin sword which most other Swordmasters wont be able use as well and makes Swordfaire actually good instead of taking up space. Severa makes a good Swordmaster if her father is Lon’qu and will tie with Kjelly as a Assassin in speed at 62 with Limit Breaker.

Just got Ages. Like somebody else said, it felt more like a classic zelda game being focused on more in-depth puzzle solving. Plus, the six dungeon in Ages is one of my favorite dungeons in the series. I know I’m going to get both though, I just wish Nintendo didn’t sale them separately! The E-Shop is still somewhat lacking, but this is a very good start. I can’t wait to play.

The final DLC’s difficulty is already pre-determined to Lunatic, so it doesn’t matter if it’s on normal or hard. I think maxing renown is a waste of effort as long as you have the gold DLC, but some spotpass
units are worth the trouble.

Yeah I made my MU Female a Noferatank with Ingis, Ingis hits harder but Sol heals better. I think I have lifetaker on her also so no need for Sol if that’s the case. Sol is still one of the games best abilities
hands down though, but it’s kinda worthless in the final DLC.

Interesting setups, I not really a big fan of Swordmasters in this game but seeing this has caused me to rethink some things. I have a shitload of Sol Katti’s sitting in my box from IR, I need a Swordsman to wield one. I have enough melee power in Severa/Lucina so diversifying things up a bit is a good idea.

I think Counter works very well with Snipers, my Seliph is a Sniper w/Galeforce, Armshift, Counter, Luna, Limit Breaker. High skill with Double Bow+Luna causes people to get picked off one by one, no need to ever worry about the double bow breaking. Forged Brave Bow and legend weapons for extra power and utility, counter attacks anybody that engages him.

My Catria has Galeforce, Limit Breaker, Armshift, Iote’s Shield, and Astra (sometimes switched out for Sol) @ Dark Flier. Forged Celica’s Gale is one of the games best tomes and with Astra you can strike up to 20 times. With Armshift, it will never break too.

Vengence has an insane activation rate, but it’s annoying having to sit there and watch it over and over again lol. Swordmaster biggest perk is the Sol Katti type weapons, but I normally grab Astra and reclass also. Swordfaire is OK but you get more points with an All Stats 2 and there are generally powerful abilities better than Swordfaire that demand a slot (Luna/Aether/Rallys/Sol/etc)

Assassins got hit hard when they patched the Lethality activation rate, now it’s divided 4 by whatever your skill cap is. Without Rightful King, I don’t think there is any reason to pick up an Assassin. You can abuse their high skill for other abilities, but I don’t think that justifies the low defensive caps even with limit breaker. If you want an Assassin, make it Morgan. Otherwise, that’s it really

Lon’ qu fathered my Severa so I was still able to pick up Astra+Sol which makes a decent pairing. Since there is no weapon weight in this game I like the idea of having axes available for stuff so I think I’m going to leave her a Hero. I still think Swordbreaker and other S tier skills far benefits greater than Swordfaire, you can make that up with rally bots or an All Stats 2.

Is it bad that I only use Spotpass characters? Everyone else I see use the normal characters…

They don’t get supports so they aren’t as good when paired, and everybody wants to be paired up for those bonuses and dual attacks.

On the flipside, with access to every class in their gender they can become pretty beastly in a similar way to the Avatar and Morgan, but the pair up thing really does matter.

The non-support is a issue because it isn’t easy getting +20 Hit/avoid/critical/critical avoid with them, that and dual strike/guards are also more rare with them. on harder difficulties I throw them under the bus because they are whatever…especially when you get like 3 Marth’s >_> come on now.

@Eren, If you need a good Swordmaster Make Severa one since her daddy is Lon’qu. She will be faster and have higher Skill than him, her Attack maybe lacking but honestly doesn’t matter if you have critical so depending on who her Husband is(My Hero Severa married Swordmaster Owain so she gets the stats she needs ontop of being a cool couple) She can benefit from the stats she needs when paired up to make up or to further boost in her high stats.

Edit:
Swordmaster vs Assassin Classes. On the outlook everyone here seems to favor Assassins because of the raw stats, and honestly I don’t blame you guys, it makes sense however let me drop some knowledge. Swordmasters have the same Spd as Assassins but a few points lower Skill and Str, however have higher Def and Res(with some characters higher Luck). Swordmasters greatest asset is the usage of Sol Katti and Amatsu. Amatsu being the only other phycial range 1-2 sword(Rangell being the other) and it’s decent mt makes it a viable choice when you are close to mages. The Sol Katti is the real Bnb with these guys, thie 100 hit and 50 crit is more than enough to make you want to use this weapon. This combined with Vantage/Vengeance/Wrath can be some real annoying shit to deal with…especially if a skill goes off like Ignis, Luna or Astra. If you have the right skill setup, you can make it so that your Swordmaster has a high crit chance with high skill activation along with 100% hitrate to make a real deadly combination. Because they are a specialty class like Lord, Bowmen and such, the special weapons are the dealbreakers. Assassin’s do not have access to either bowmen or Swordmaster weapons which makes their options not as strong…even with brave weapons.

Not to say that Assassin’s are bad, their high skill and Str is more then a justify the usage however their low def/res is a huge liability when fighting Mages and Bowknights. Swordmasters are sturdier in that regard, and makes them imo more of a reliable unit. Assassin’s are great when your clearing a map with weaker mobs(especially with galeforce). So ya, it all depends on how you build the character. Btw.
Acrobat,+1 Move, Pass, Lethality, galeforce on a Assassin…is what I like to call…Ima get you skillset. but here is a random scenario.

My Swordmaster Owain vs Hard mode Marth

My Owain has 114 base avoid before skills because his Speed is 56 and Luck is 61. Marth’s hitrate is 175. so before the stupid skills either of them have, Marth has a 61% chance to hit Owain. Skills like Breakers reduce the targeted weapons hit by 50(50%) so if Owain had swordbreaker his hit would drop down to 11% then if you had Avoid+10 it would go to 1%. We all know how the weapon triangle works so the best thing for a swordmaster to have is Lancebreaker(which alot of them can get since alot have wyvern rider as a base class), this pretty much screws over the weapon advantage they had…and in a sense you beat the weapon triangle. However you can always add insult to injury with skills like Lucky 7 or Quick burn. Also remember Support gives you hit and avoid so even without those skills my Owain can still knock down Marth’s hit rate down to 41% with just support and base stats.

I just bought both games yesterday, but haven’t started either yet. How exactly do they become linked? I read somewhere that you need a cable or something, and that you can also get passwords from each game. I want to get the most out of them.

Also, which one would you recommend playing first?

You just get a password from one game after you beat it and input it to the second in game. As far as what to play first I guess that’s preference I’ve never beat ages so I’m starting with that I personally prefer changing seasons to changing time.

Definitely had to get used to the new physics of DKR3D. Last DK game I played was DKC3. lol
But I am loving it. Classic old game mentality of “memorize the level or die”

Kinda scared for my main unit currently in FE: A thinking I may have to start over.

oh, I haven’t tried it yet but I heard Luigi’s mansion multiplayer is this…

Can I get a confirm?

Go Weegee

Oracle series can be started either one first…neither is a primary game. I usually play bother individually then link each one…like how I did it for RE2 with leon/clair A/B games

Man really on the fence about picking up Animal Crossing never played one and I’m interested. Might just wait for Project x Zone.

About to try the project x zone demo, but I gotta say, with only 5 uses, it reminded me of how stupid it is to put a limit on how much you can play a damn demo.

Why the fuck do they do that?

doesnt it reset though if you download it again. dont get me wrong i think it is incredibly stupid myself but i think you can jus delete and redownload.

according to people on NeoGAF, that doesnt work

i think it’s pretty lame to have that type of limitation on a demo.

i’m stuck at work for a few more hours but i’m really eager to try this game out.

well that is some bullshit
