Holy shit lucky bastard, dude must have been cool people. I am gonna call around any sears within an hour of me and see if they have any flame red in stock.
I bought one a month ago. Pretty sick handheld. Unfortunately though, I bought Paper Mario Sticker Star with it. And had to fight the urge to throw it against the wall. Disgraceful game, still has the charm, everything else is gone though. Mario Kart 7 is godlike on the otherhand. Niggas can’t hold this dick online. Too heavy
there is no sense of growth in the game. everything just feels like one big world.
I didn’t feel like I was accomplishing anything when I played.
The sticker novelty of the game wears out really fast due to the fact there are so little variety of stickers in the game.
The lack of companions.
The fact you didn’t have to participate in any battles due to you never truly got rewarded for it. All your character “growth” came from fighting bosses.
The fact they took pretty much every RPG element that made the series great out of the game.
what i don’t like about most jrpgs is that the difficulty in them can be solved with just a mindless grind.
where as sticker star involved more critical thinking such as figuring out what sticker to use and when to use it on the boss.
the exploration in this game i thought gave off a sense of refreshment like attention to detail rewards you with a new thing sticker ,more hit points, or better shiny stickers.
the sense of growth came to me from improving the stickers you had in your album by accumulating coins, having those coins for the battle spinner, as well as using them for buying back thing stickers.
yeah the basic stickers lacked in diversity ,but the thing stickers were diverse , fun, and creative.
also you couldn’t just walk around with only thing stickers all the time. the player had to balance their album to be most efficient.
personally i think this game is well balanced.
my older post
this game was everything i was hoping for, it had quirkiness, great pacing, music, and it demanded some creativity from the player which for me was the aspect i most admired.
i loved that this game had progression difficulty more so than past entries ,but it wasn’t hard enough to go looking in a strategy guide for the answers as long as you were thorough.
the battle system was fun, fresh, and new although it was pretty simple.
battle spinner was a great idea.
i liked having to use strategies on how to minimize coin use and manage stickers so that i could leave the best ones for bosses or tougher enemies.
sure i had to start some of the boss fights over ,but it allowed me to rethink my approach to be more efficient
.
finally the ending. what an ending it was.
i was at the finally boss with the last possible stickers to use ,and there i was hoping and praying to god it would be enough.
i load up my stickers and it’s not till the very last one that deals the final blow.
I just don’t have any fun playing with permadeath on. At least in a game like X-Com, any lost character can be replaced with a new character with the same abilities with time and effort. In this game, it’s such an irreplaceable loss, that I reset every time it happens…and I dont like having to do that.
That’s why the incentive of protecting your units is insanely valuable in FE (Donnel is a prime example) , also that tension you get because the game is known for having retarded odds(You never doubt 1%).
I see where your coming from, hopefully you can get back to emblem…imo it’s easily top 3 games on the 3DS.
its sad how much better the DSi/3DS ware games are better than the actual 3DS games.
I’ve been playing Crimson Shadow, Shantae, Come On! Heroes, Soul of Darkness and Gunman Clive like crazy.
Did someone just say Sticker star had critical thinking? The fuck? All the bosses made their weaknesses painfully obvious to where you go in discover the weakness in 5 seconds, go out and get said weakness and watch said boss fall like any common enemy.
i always hear people complain about the bosses weakness not being straight forward or how they always get stuck a lot, but i guess you’re just smarter than they are.
Yeah, the first 5 chps of Lunatic is pure RNG hell and you need to get lucky with some probabilities. If you are playing on classic then that’s going to further test your sanity because everybody is literally 2KO’d except for Jeigan/Federick. The general consensus is that the traditional hard/classic mode is the best thing to capturing true FE experience. Lunatic is for hardcore loyalist faithful to the genre.
So I’m planning to sell my 3DS so I have money for the XL im getting next week. The person I’ll probably end up selling it to is interested in picking up Luigi’s mansion as well. Is there any reason that he would not not be able to download the free game on his original 3DS if we both registered the game and the 3DS XL on the same account?
There might be a complication due to the Club Nintendo Account.
The game and XL will be registered with a specific Club Nintendo Account. He’ll probably have to have his 3DS registered with the same account to download the game. Not sure what will happen if he switches accounts, and I’m not sure what it means if he keeps your account registered on his system. At the least, he won’t get any Club Nintendo Coins for any purchases he makes.
Renegade Kid announced their new eShop game called Cult County
called Cult County and it’s a Horror FPS
Also Next Level Games supposedly has been working on something big and not just Luigi’s Mansion 2. Don’t know if it’s going to be on 3DS or Wii U though.
Is anybody picking up Luigi’s Mansion? Reviews for it have been pretty solid. The biggest complaint seems to be about repetition for the most part
Surprisingly I’ve read that Luigi’s Mansion is kinda hard. Not sure if that means hard for a Nintendo tittle or in general. It’s been so long since I’ve played the original I probably wont even be able to compare them. Really like that Nintendo tittles usually come out on Sunday right before my days off.
