Unless your playing on Lunatic on your first playthrough(and why would you do that?), you should not be resetting the game that much at all. If anything FE13 gives you way too many resources to make OP units on Hard(hard = JP normal) mode.
if you’re tired of resetting and can’t deal with it, then you do have the option to turn it off.
Have you played Tactics Ogre? It’s also by Yasumi Matsuno.
Besides that, you should try Final Fantasy Tactics 1.3. You’ll need a PSP (unsure if it needs to be modded). 1.3 is a hack that makes the game a shitload more difficult and adds a bunch of other stuff as well. http://ffhacktics.com/
Well you know what you’re getting before you buy, it’s full of really cheap deaths and is basically an improved Shinobi 3/NES Ninja Gaiden which I love. I hope I didn’t steer you into buying a game you don’t like much, but I’m curious why you say it’s just ok.
I’ll cop Shinobi soon too, if it plays anything like Shinobi 3 then I can dig that.

difficulty isn’t really an issue, i like the fact that the game is difficult, but the rest of the experience just feels unremarkable.
color scheme, pace, music, the cutscenes, they just didn’t click with me.
Is it true that it was first made as a DS game and not a 3DS one?
If your a lucky SOB with a sears they are selling off the flame red 3DS in the old small boxes for 60. This deal is very YMMV so if you got a sears near by ask them to scan their 3DS stock might get lucky.

Yeah, I tried lunatic on my first try. After 4 hrs of resetting and not passing lvl 2 I said fuck it. Seriously though, somebody crits one of you characters and…there we go…reset…
Tactics Ogre is sweet. Have that on a ps1 emu.
Griptonite which is now dissolved probably due to poor sales of Shinobi 3DS as a passion project because a lot of the team loved Shinobi 3. It’s clearly modeled after that entry in the series and it’s a much better game too IMO.
Yeah that’s how most of the critics felt, personally I wouldn’t change anything about it, except maybe the music which is okay but doesn’t stand out much.
I’ve read the same thing online, while it looks better than any DS game graphically it still pretty obvious it was originally a DS game. That being said it looks great with the 3D on and uses it better than any other 3DS game IMO, because it adds depth to the background instead of lazily tacking it on to have shit pop out.

Like I said, Hard/Classic. Beat it, get a feel for it, then play Lunatic then Lunatic+ if your ballzy…
