Ninjas have high standards! The Tsumuji Loop Thread

what a great thread O_O about the tsumuji loop :D.
my GOD it’s so hard to link the st.lp :S …

That’s what makes it so rewarding once you can do it though. It’s a pretty difficult 1f link, but for me, it helps to look at the sway animation of the other character. I always need a visual cue for when to press st.lp.

for an hour i kept trying to do “TC4 tsumuji st.lp xx st.mk neckbreaker” on abel i was able to hit it few times but GOD my hand hurts :S .

Well… You need more hours then :stuck_out_tongue:

Keep at it, nobody said tsumuji loops are easy. And they are quite difficult to do online, where the slightest bit of lag will make you miss it.

It might be easier trying to do cl.lp, st.mp(target combo) xx lk tsumuji. You’re left closer to Abel after the tsumujis for the follow up st.lp link. On abel you can do it twice, for a total of three tsumujis. It’s the best part of playing fatties like Abel.

today i was able to do the loop more often in training mode !!! i even did “TC4 tsumuji xx st.lp xx st.mk tsumuji xx st.lp xx st.mk special” few times ( on abel ) !!! i was like YEAHHHHHHHHHHH but i need more training OBVIOUSLY

and today i’m so lucky i did this “TC4 tsumuji st.lp xx st.mk neckbreaker” a couple of times online !!!

For the record, spacing doesn’t really matter, assuming the loop you’re trying to do works. The loop won’t be any easier; it’ll still be a 1f link.

cl.st.LP xx st.MP loop starter doesn’t offer any advantages afaik except allowing you to loop THawk (for less damage btw), and it’s kind of pointless to do outside the training room.

Good to know Mingo. For me it always felt that I had more success doing the loops after a cl.lp xx st.mp instead of doing TC4, but I guess I need more practice on it.

Hi!
I just saw this Sako Ibuki video with inputs on screen. Take a look to his tsujumi loops, he double tap jab to link it, right?
This is the way you guys do it also? I´m just trying to get the timming but if this is easy I´ll definetely try this way.

There is the video

Can’t really tell.

But I always plink with select.

i know that double taping works best with 2 frame links cuz it’s 3 frame process that it will hit on frame 1 and 3 so that mean double taping it’s not good for 1 frame link.

I double tap it, just in case i mistime my jabs by a frame. If you re-wire your stick to have the ‘select’ button near your jab, you can plink it, like Mingo said. Others simply press jab once, it all comes down to preference.

So if double taping it´s not too good for 1 frame link, do you think that sako has re-wire his t-stick as Mingo?
I really would like too improve my accuracy with tsujumi loops but I´m a bit reticent to open my t-stick…

no i don’t think that he re-wired he’s stick cuz it will affect him playing in tournaments or in an arcade but the thing is all pro players have the habit to double tap every input for normals, specials and supers ( just to feel safe ).

Double-tapping is NOT easy, you can’t just say “hey I double tap Tsumuji loops and it’s easy!”

I do it with a single tap, and I’m around 80% consistency so kinda good. A good way to train, once you got the timing, is to train with no sound. It’ll improve your “muscular rhythm” and you’ll be more consistent =)

I´ve been trainning tsujumi loops for a month and I can´t do it consistenly at all…maybe 20% and just in trainning mode…I never did it in a match online yet lol…For that reason I´m a bit disappointed…it´s like I´m spending a lot of time in a technique that it won´t be useful cuz I can´t see me landing it with 80% consistency or something like that…btw I also do it with a single tap…

You have to know that there is nothing “difficult” about Tsumuji loops, except a timing. What you have to do is to know this timing, and not go for pushing LP at a random time.
I don’t know exactly how to explain it, but now when I doo a Tsumuji loop I “feel” that it’s time to push the button. Muscular memory thing.
Analyze the exact time you have to input st.LP and try it over and over. And then try it with no sound.

And then go to the local arcade, do double Tsumuji-loops and become godlike.

Thanks for advices, I´ll try my best

It takes time to get the handle on this timing, so all you need is patience

I have a quick question, about in the spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqClL3kJPchYdFlDd0VhMmt4R0w3TVdJQ2hHX29GLUE#gid=0) it shows there that for against Ibuki(e.g on mirror match) you cannot do the loop1 2 and 3 but when I fought some ibuki players they can actually loop those. Or maybe I am understanding the spreadsheet incorrectly.

Does it mean we cannot do the loop 1 2 and 3 on her?
