also im fairly new at this, if anybody could point me in the direction of combos that are effective on characters like Sakura with smaller hitboxes please let me know, the one i posted above works on her also as i practiced it on her =)
The thing with using TC4 after an overhead is that it’s not consistent. If you are too far you won’t be able to use the target combo, not to mention it completely whiffs on some crouching characters. The best solution is to use s.mk after the overhead. It still goes into Tsumuji loops if they are standing.
Seeing as it will probably hit crouching opponents, you should cancel into mk Tsumuji and end it low on reaction. Don’t go into the third kick high or low on block because it pushes you too far and - on block. They can focus through the low ender.
S.mp into s.mk into loops is pretty much universal unless the characters are unloopable. Which in that case you either need a specific loop combo or mk tsumuji, f+lk, dp or ex Tsumuji.
the tc4 seems to be working fairly consistently for me, so long as i execute it at the right distance, the majority of these combos seem situational, the beauty of it being that if given the opportunity, you can maximize damage.
but thanks for that advice, will put it into practice
You will definitely not notice it in the training room. But then you jump into a match and then all of the sudden it completely whiffs on you and you lose the round, pressure, and points. You will see what I mean eventually.
I personally use overhead into c.lk at point blank.
Tsumuji chart I made using Mingo’s style for USF4.
I’ll try asking NEW Shimauta to test on the new characters.
Also cr.lp cancelled into tsumuji would open new combos right?
Hmm good idea. I’ll test it. If there’s no double loop, then it’s not worth doing.
Just tested it. The LK tsumuji pushback frum cancelled cr.lp is greater than st.mk cancel so it won’t work. But, found 2 new loops. Check the chart.
He dropped it, but new loop on Juri thanks to c.lp buff. (At the 2 Min Mark)
He didn’t drop it. St.mk can’t connect afterwards and the best thing you can do is cancel cr.lp to a special with fast startup like Kazegiri, Raida, or LK Tsumuji. When I tested it, I thought I was dropping my combo, but after trying it for 5+ mins straight, I just concluded that the loop didn’t work.
What do you mean? Its too far? If not why cant you combo it into sweep? its +6 on hit. I’m confused.
It’s not too far. It’s like the problem with Blanka where you do your regular loop but he blocks the jab even though it looks like it will connect. Only Juri and Viper has this problem with cr.lp loop. I don’t know what cause this problem. I didn’t try sweep though but it might not work if st.mk don’t work.
Sweep might work,I guess mk whiffs due to Juri’s hurtbox being pushed back during the animation but sweep should work
Sweep works!
Was just testing stuff out, and I found that loop 6 (st.MP , st.MK xx LK Tsumuji , st.LP , st.MK xx LK Tsumuji , st.LP , st.MK xx Special) now works on Dudley. Just to confirm, I switched to AE 2012 Ibuki and the combo didn’t work because Dudley was pushed back too far. I don’t know if this is because of changes made to Ibuki or Dudley. Hopefully it’s the former and USF4 opens up some new Tsumuji loop possibilities.
Already included in the new chart https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CiT6Rz4rGlXVEKTDG4OclHzJgHjFql51GSGFjlCWjjg/edit#gid=0
Ah didn’t know there was a new one, cheers!
i’m not sure if people are still discussing the execution of the loop (i haven’t read the entire thread) but what helps me land it is, as soon as the character you’re doing the loop on stops spinning from getting hit by Tsumuji is when you should start the loop. that’s what works for me. i’m still practicing and i don’t get it every time, but i’ll say 40-50%, which is pretty good for a 1-frame link if you ask me.
tbh, i have an easier time doing the tsumuji loop than i do with cr.lp, cr.lp, cr.mk, tsumuji. not sure why i have so many issues with that link.
