So how were the chicks in sigma and RE? I never played any of the sigmas or a version of NG3 but people always gave me the impression that they were always watered down compared to Ryu. I was thinking I may eventually get RE if I ever see it on sale.
edit : if you have a 360 you can download NGB directly to your harddrive from the marketplace , it isn’t pricy either. If you have a ps3 , sigma 1 is the best game of the bunch.
note that NGB is better than sigma 1 even though it is more or less the same game.
Well I already have NGB and NG2. So I never felt the urge to re-buy those games since some people’s impression that some things were changed for the worse. Like this video
Come on guys, who the fuck cares about Ninja Gaiden’s story as a selling point for the game lol…
Nah, Sigma’s the same, maybe even a little less blood on the decaps than Black, Sigma 2 cut the gore wayyyyyyyyy down. You got purple farts when de-limbing as opposed to the glorious geysers of blood in Gaiden II. Sigma 2+ on Vita restores a lot of the gore but they tell you flatout in the options that the blood will hurt the framerate.
Surprised anyone likes Sigma 2 more than 2 honestly, I’ll give it points for being a little more in-line with Black’s structure as far as the weapon/upgrading system goes, and I’ll take Hayashi’s Bow and Arrow system over Itagaki’s, but that game was a complete bore compared to NGII’s white knuckle unfinished, unpolished craziness. I can’t even imagine what they could have done if it ever got to Ninja Gaiden Black II with Itagaki(who himself said 2 was incomplete with the majority of the AI set to overdrive mode on release).
Vanilla 3…isn’t even worth discussing if you stayed away from it now that Razor’s Edge is out.
Razor’s Edge was pretty damn good though. It’s Gaiden II’s combat system running at locked frame rate(both systems) with the same on screen enemy count as Gaiden 2, and post Story mode completion(which is far more fair than Gaiden 2 Master or Vanilla 3 Ultimate at higher diff) It’s probably my favorite package deal for a Gaiden game. Chapter Challenge removes the shittier boss fights, all three girls are fun to play through the entire campaign, and the Mission Mode is very robust and blast to play up until the Ultimate Trials…if you want Genshin fights, Ultimate will routinely shove 3 Genshins up your ass simultaneously.
Don’t skip Razor’s Edge cuz of vanilla 3, it’s worthy of the Gaiden name.
RE just came out a bit late, for me. I’ve been deliberately investing less money into 360 games with the next-gen looming. I think I have 45 games for my 360.
This is like me saying I’ll never play Super Turbo because I hated The New Challengers. :shake:
Bam. Play dat Razor’s Edge. There are a few odd places where the FPS dips, though, the Day where you’re on the ship has some dips, and when you’re fighting that one giant boss in the village level it dips too. Still, the game has some of the most consistent 60FPS in the series next to Black and Sigma 1, the game is as smooth as butter 99% of the time.
I wouldn’t say I prefer Sigma II over vanilla NGII, but I do like some things it does over it. I do like NGII’s insane enemy count and gore, and I’m glad Razor’s Edge brought that back for the most part(blood still isn’t as ridiculous as vanilla NGII.)
If Sigma II had NGII’s enemy count I’d probably prefer it over it.
you do have good taste in games forsure. And i am keeping that in mind whenever you are trying to get me sold on RE , but you have to understand that ng3 scarred me. LOL
troll post or not but my copy of NG sigma is still collecting dust unplayed , It didn’t catch my attention, I don’t know, I think I miss that epic music from the first 2 nes games, same reason probably I never played ninja gaiden 3 on the nes, yes I lied I just beat 1 and 2. Probably is the same reason my most enjoyable SF game was Street Fighter II Champion Edition, it’s weird
Eh, I find the Flying Swallow gets boring after a while+it becomes useless on higher difficulties as well as the harder enemies.
I’d rather Demon Flip throw motherfuckers or start my string with a run in --> light button or heavy. Usually when Ryu is in a run animation and you tap light/heavy attack he’ll do some outrageous, high-mobility high-damage move.
