Can’t compare platformers to combat focused 3D action games, but yeah platformers>>>>>any other genre IMO.
As usual I will reserve my judgement until I see game play footage. The countless game development fails and pleasnt surprises this generation should have taught all of you to keep an open mind, as anything can happen to a game between announcement and completion. Could be GDLK like NG1 and to a much lesser degree 2 or a fail like NG3, at this point seems like a coin flip, but I’ll be disappointed if it doesn’t live up to it’s potential.
Sonicabid seems doing what countless other gamers do: Get’s pre emptively hype or anti hype and then when the end product turns out to be the opposite of what’s expected gamers stand by their initial claim because they are less willing to admit they jumped the gun.
I’ll be the first to tell you vanilla NG3 is garbage. Unlike most people in this thread, I’ve actually played Razor’s Edge and it’s really damn good.
For $20 you can play the most misjudged game of the past few years. Vanilla NG3 tarnished Razor’s Edge reputation before it was given a fair chance and everyone thinks RE is ass by default without playing it because the first iteration was bad.
I’m talking World Warrior --> Hyper Fighting/Super Turbo level of quality difference here. The only thing vanilla NG3 and RE share is the levels, the combat itself is 90% similar to NG2 with some of its own, unique mechanics(like the reworked Steel on Bone) and some other interesting mechanics that are unique and exclusive to RE.
The only game I saw this gen that I shit on from the beginning was SFxT. I knew that since it was 99% copy-pasted SFIV that the game was going to be fucking terrible, and shortly after release, I was confirmed right.
Actually, with that massively epic failure that was NG3 I think I would be a little worried.
I mean that was some bare bones shit. That was an anorexic piece of crap game then they turned around and released razors edge which I cant even give praise to because it seemed like that was the whole game to begin with and they scraped that insides out just for the re-release. Seriously, only one weapon and one ninpo? Lol. Ok Team Ninja…
Never played Razor’s Edge or even realized vanilla NG3 had free DLC that added weapons.
Love it when people shit on games they’ve never played. When I shit on a game on SRK, it’s because I’ve spent enough time with it to deem it garbage or not.
Razor’s Edge $20 Christmas present=the best Christmas holidays you’ll ever have in your life.
Yeah, it’s fucking dumb. Stories and characters in these type of games is usually pretty terrible. Bayonetta’s story+characters I found to be really stupid, too.
We all know NG3 was shit, and Sonic never denied that. But he’s saying RE is good and no one has given any reason to suggest otherwise apart from shitting on vanilla.
Story is shit, so what. Even the NG1 story was… shit Its all about feeling like a boss while controlling the Ninja’s ninja.
Well Sonic has sold Razors Edge to me. I’ll buy it when I’m not feeling lazy.
@HarmoNaz Let us know what you think of the game after you play through a few chapters. Try to get some level 3 weapons first+a lot of skills unlocked to see how the combat feels later on.
V for Vendetta d-bag boss=the most annoying boss throughout Razor’s Edge for me, he’s basically this games Genshin.
I dunno, man. Some stuff in NG games seems purposefully cheesy. Remember Volfe’s dialogue?
I was laughing so hard at how silly his dialogue was combined with his voice actor. All the demon bosses in NG2 have the cheesiest voice actors, some of this cheese has to be on purpose. It’s funny either way, though.
NG never had a good story and they never tried to. It was generic and mediocre which is fine. When Team Ninja, who can’t write shit for free, attempted to do a story, it was the laughable mess that is NG3. Even in DOA5, character intros and win quotes are laughable and PATHETIC. Pre-NG3, no one cared about the story and they didn’t shove it down your throat.
I know sonic likes RE and he has said that they have improved the game from pretty much every aspect. but i am not ready to give RE a go unfortunately , as i am still traumatized from playing ng3.
