The camera isn’t much of an issue compared to Rising. The solution to both is the same. You keep moving around(evade in NG). Vs rockets, after taking out a squad, aim and the game gives auto lock on for you. Just face in the general direction and it’ll lock on head shot for you each time. When in battle, you know you must keep moving so never stay in any one area too long.
Tap R1/right trigger and the camera will snap to Ryu’s back in every NG game. You should never worry about the camera in an NG game because of this.
Played a little bit of the demo last night, oh man, I’m so happy right now. Here’s my question, how does your health bar work? It seems like it regenerates after fights but your health bar get’s smaller with the more damage you take. And the only way to restore back to full is through save points?
Be honest, how many of you guys tried to:
1.Hold down Right Trigger to Ninja Run at dudes expecting sword to deflect bullets
2.Tried to parry MGR style
@OSD
Rocket guys are actually your bitch in this, anytime you get into a rocket enemy gauntlet just hold LB and you’ll autotarget projectile enemies on top of the walls and stuff everytime, then just tap Right Trigger to shoot… In RE buy the Falcon’s Eye upgrade that lets you arrow aim in midair, you can literally be in the middle of a melee fight, jump hold LB for split second and as soon as it’s locked on(which is instant) hit shoot and they’re dead. Aiming on your part should never be required. LB/RT, LB/RT
Save points or hitting enemies with ninpo. You gain health back at the end of every encounter, but your health bar will get small chunks knocked off when you take damage, so the health refill after post fights will only fill what’s remaining. Ninpo and save points restore the health meter length overall.
Whenever I tried to quickly kill the rockets, Ryu would just aim at the guys on the ground. Resulting in me eating a rocket. So I pretty much gave up on that.
I’ll have to try that Falcon Eye, good tip.
It’s not like they’re really troubling me, but I feel like they don’t add anything besides just being annoying. I’d rather have tougher enemies on the ground instead of RPG spam.
Yeah, the auto target will seek out any enemy using Rocket Launcher, so if they are on the ground, it will target them.
If I use the bow, I don’t touch the analogs, just hit LB/RT.
Like how RE feels…much improved.
This game demo is kicking my ass on normal…NORMAL.
That’s why you kill the squads FIRST. Then Ryu will automatically lock on to any enemy left. Plus once you’ve learned layouts, it’s easier. After the kunai climb kill, the next area has a guy about to fire rockets on you. You evade and then land. RIGHT AFTER that, use the bow and 1-shot him. Like I said, keep moving. Stay in one area and you make their job easier. Listen for the rocket fire and evade out of the way.
Ok I just played for the first few mins, I don’t like how it kind of auto targets the enemy next to me during a combo. I’m getting my butt kicked on normal difficulty.
I just spaced out away from the squads until I’m far enough to target the rocket launchers. Quickly aim then immediately press the trigger. It works for me that way
Mages are stupid. They have one major flaw. Whenever they charge up(palm on the ground) and crying HHHMMMMMMMM, if you attack them thus preventing them from charging, when they recover, they’ll keep trying to do it. If another mage doesn’t stop you, it’s possible to kill them in 3-4 UTs.
glad to hear you guys are enjoying the demo so far. cant wait till to hear from some of you guys having to deal with the fuckin boss gauntlet with the 2 siege tanks followed by 3 stages of the real boss.
Wow, this is like a totally different game. I feel like I’m playing 2 again, which is great. Multiple weapons are awesome, enemies actually have an intelligence worth 2 shits, limbs go flying off, and I get to enjoy the good ol’ NG difficulty once again. All this as well as additional DLC content and playing as multiple characters? I’m sold already.
…but yeah, Mages. Shit’s hard. %-(
Yeah, fighting the alchemists is really not fun at all. At first I thought the trick would be to break their shields and stagger them, but they can just decide that stagger doesn’t apply to them anymore and break out of it. Combos are useless because they can decide that combos don’t apply to them anymore and break out of those too. There seems to be 1 or 2 dual katana combos that you can land with some consistency, but aside from that it just seems to be about spamming UTs because nothing else actually connects. Am I missing something?
And does there really need to be some dickface with a rocket launcher in every. single. fucking. room?
Aside from those 2 things, I actually am really enjoying the game though.
Rocket launcher dudes aren’t that hard, you just have to take care of them first with the bow. And the lock-on prioritizes them when you aim it.
Holy shit, it’s actually not that bad.
Probably been said already but the enemies take a bit too long to die sometimes but that might be down to weapon level(?)
The pace of the combat is wonderful and yes, I’m guilty of trying to ninja run.
Main gripes:
Rocket launcher dudes always up high.
Dudes on jet skis, I hate that kinda crap by default. Chasing them around ugh.
Steel to bone on mages is very weird and they’re just a bit too slippery.
I heard about an abundance of helicopter enemies in the full game too, people just wanna kill. Having to deal A LOT of out of reach enemies isn’t fun.
Day 1 buy though. I was hoping it wasn’t to be honest…
Yeah, you kill faster once you get the Izuna Drop. Dual blades variation is my favorite though. I think the old battlecry for the Izuna was superior.
“HAAAAAAAAAAAW” will live on forever.
Finally getting used to the mages, but they still kill me half the time. You CAN combo them and shit, but it seems like they have to be down to half life in order to actually do that. If anything that battle teaches you patience since you have to wait for them to finish their attack strings before you can do anything. I wish parrying could interrupt them but it doesn’t seem like it does. Just sucks that as soon as you create any distance they decide to spam fireballs.
HOW TO UNLOCK KASUMI
being lazy. gonna fire this up in a few hours. wanna play it when the gf is home and watch her eyes go O_O from the violence. LOOL
