This remake also seems to directly rip some parts of the original, like that tub scene where Freddy’s glove emerges from between the girl’s legs (what’s he doing down there anyway? Million-much, Freddy?)

I don’t see why people have so much trouble with campy Freddy. Some of his lines were downright hysterical. Like Power Glove Freddy.

Dont get me wrong, I LOVE campy Freddy.

But I also like more serious Freddy from 1, 2 and New Nightmare.

No interest in this at all. Not even remotely. I’m a huge fan of the original Nightmare and I have no desire to see Bay’s production company fuck it in the ass. It’s going to be a cash grab piece of shit that panders to current 17-21 year olds who know shit about shit and feed off of anything that’s shoved down their throats. How Freddy looks is the least of this movie’s problems. The OG was so low budget they had to use cheap special effects to make things work. Freddy pushing through the wall was just a sheet…but it looked good. Some of the creepiness of the original comes from the lack of crazy special effects.

Oh, and it’s going to be your typical modern American horror, which means it will try to be disturbing while never really getting anywhere near it. I gave the trailer a chance because I was such a fan of the original, but they delievered exactly the product I feared.

Wow where to begin? This is why I/we hate Hollywood. Don’t pay a writer to come up with something new and original. Remake some shit from Japan, remake horror franchises.

Freddy being campy is what makes him awesome. They will never be able to re create that.

Watchmen dude as Freddy is probably the best they could have done besides Englund, but considering Englund is not dead nor too old to play Freddy, its much less forgivable. The essence of the character will be gone. Like Symbolic said, the best I’ll do is a download. I might pay to see if Bay wasn’t involved.

Nightmare on Elm Street was a low budget, cheesy horror flick. Bay is cheesy and it should fit right up his ally. Bay is notorious for cheesy one liners, who’s better to give them to Freddy? Just give the movie a chance.

The elm street trailer was meh, just don’t look the same without Robert Englund returning as Krueger…also the krueger face looks like sloppy make up work.

Drag Me To Hell was fucking top tier. I dont know how anyone couldnt like that movie.
