I think the game went too heavy on the bullet hell segments. They were perfectly peppered in during Route A.

I was really disappointed with that aspect really. I bought this expecting a Platinum action game, and then I spend like 50% of the time playing Gradius

I bought this game because it looked like my type of game…but I never heard about or played the first Nier.

So far it’s fun but I just got to the resistance camp and man the overall theme and the camp music is depressing as fuck.

It’s the least of a downer of all his games, but if you can’t hang with stories like that it won’t get any better.

I mean, I think it’s an interesting story and a great game, so I think it’s worth it, but I get where you’re coming from if you wanna stop

If you’re gonna do that, make sure to actually see all the main endings then. It’s a long game, 50-ish hours, so keep at it.

NieR: Automata original NieR costumes and Colosseum DLC set announced - Gematsu

Square Enix announced the first downloadable content for NieR: Automata during its “One Million Shipments Commemoration” live stream today.

The downloadable content, titled “3C3C1D119440927,” will launch on May 2 for 1,500 yen in Japan and is “coming soon” in North America and Europe.
It will include three new colosseums to challenge, plus additional sub-quests.
Upon completion of these quests, players can earn various rewards, including:

[] “Revealing Outfit” (in the style of Kaine) for 2B
[] “Young Man’s Outfit” (in the style of young Nier) for 9S

[] Records that add special music tracks to the players’ jukebox
[] New equipment and cosmetic accessories such as hairspray that allows you to change the color of 2B and A2’s hair

You can enjoy the colosseum challenges by meeting various conditions, and clearing battles will allow you to acquire various rewards, such as the costumes and hairspray.
The colosseum has scenarios in addition to battles, as well as considerably difficult battles for speedrun-style players.

Enemies confirmed to appear in the Colosseum include Square Enix president and CEO Yosuke Matsuda, and Platinum Games president and CEO Kenichi Sato.
