I have a friend IRL that had that same opinion about the first Nier. He sold his PS3 after he 100% the game believing no other game would be on that level. That bit him in the ass when KoF13 was released a year later being a huge SNK fan.

In regards to that video again, no game is perfect. To assume a game needs to be perfect for a 10/10 is silly, but this is one of the reasons why numbered scoring is so terribly flawed.
Also, you donât need taunt chips installed to use taunt. Taunt chips only buff the mechanic, not make it usable.

I made this chip set because I run Virtuous Contract/4O Lance, and Virtous Treaty/4O Blade. All of those weapons are lvl4 and you need full health in order for Holy Blessing to be active.
I really wish the game wouldâve stressed the importance of fusing chips. It took me until route C to realize that you could find certain upgrades from drops at a really low cost and then fuse them to make really high level chips for very low storage usage
I think thatâs part of the gameâs allure. It doesnât tell you a whole lot while playing it. It implies a few things and relies on the player to connect the dots.

This game may be artsy but I donât think even Yoko Taro is that far up his own ass.
I didnât see the importance of fusions until I completed the Lord of the Alley sidequest and the NPC who gave me the quest told me of the advantages.
Ending E at 46 hours. I liked the game a lot but I really donât see the âgeniusâ in the story. It was a great story yeah but it definitely isnât changing storytelling for the rest of our days. It isnât a landmark achievement for video games or anything. It is a solid game though through and through and i donât regret a penny spent on it.
I got Ending E with 60 hours logged. I completed 90% of the quests before the endgame.
Yeah I think I had 90 or 92. Iâm gonna dive back in later for the joke endings and side quests.
Playing with 9s is fun to me⌠I love bullethell shooters so I hack for bigger damage whenever I can. I need to set 2b to cool out and not attack everything in sight so I can sneak up on more bots and control emâŚ
I think the game went too heavy on the bullet hell segments. They were perfectly peppered in during Route A.
I was really disappointed with that aspect really. I bought this expecting a Platinum action game, and then I spend like 50% of the time playing Gradius
9S is my favorite character in the game, but Yeah, the shmup parts felt a tad bit overdone for the most part. I mean later in the story, you get more of a variety of maps to play on, but a few power ups(like that certain part of the game) wouldâve made it more tolerable.
The Hacking button in general is a cool idea, but it shouldâve been more options instead of just holding the button, or dash cancelling to get damage. The hijack plug-in chip shouldâve added a perk where, according to the machine level, can have an enemy as an assist for a short period of time( and let it stack on how many hijack chips you have).
Other than that Nines is the man, weapon set cancels with great sword and lance is the shiznit
I really liked the shump parts of the game. Only the hacking mini got me annoyed and only because of how often I did it.
I definitely had more fun with 9S personally, though Berserk mode was a ton of fun too lol
9s is simply overpowered IMO. Pure wreckage with the hack damage. Still, 2b swords on max ainât nothing to mess with.
