Coolest looking, best character, best motivation Seriously, I was hoping in the end their was some way you could help him, and holy fuck that final speech is god tier,and definitely the best Ganon fight in the whole series.
Link and Zelda will probably be based off their Skyward Sword appearances. Because Ganondorf wasn’t in that game, they can do whatever they want for a SS version of him.

It’s Diddy with a helicopter. Whoop de do. Dixie doesn’t have much else other than that ponytail twirl so she’s either going to be a Diddy clone or she’s not going to be in the game.
Lanky Kong needs to be in.
Only in DKC3 when she inherited his speed. He not being playable in that game had a lot to do with it. Ponytail twirl is enough to separate her from other Kongs. Even more so if they incorporate stuff from the spin-off games she appeared in like DK Barrel Blast.
That’s irrelevant. The ponytail twirl is NOT enough to make her viable in a fighting game. And don’t just say “they’ll make something up”. That’s a complete copout. They won’t do shit with her if it’s not immediately obvious how she fights just from looking at her.
I tried this last year on SSB64 on an emulator. Using a stick with digital input for movement isn’t very friendly with Smash 64. Funny how a keyboard works pretty well though.
It’s Nintendo. They’ve done more with less. “They’ll make something up” worked for Falcon, Peach, Ice climbers, and Pit. They got a good foundation with Dixie so there’s little need for that. She appeared as a playable character on many DK games. Again, with her character data being on Brawl game disc there were likely plans for her to be in that game.
He was easily the coolest of the new kongs in DK64.
I’m assuming that’s from BlazBlue or Guilty Gear?
I’d rather some new franchises get represented.
Maybe the Red Steel 2 guy will get in. …OK there is little to no possibility of that but Red Steel 2 was one of the games that people would point to to say that making the Wii was not a waste of resources. He’s one of the few dudes with a sword I would want to see, although Sakurai would have to get over his squeamishness about guns.
Guilty Gear
@Aracho
I don’t think it has anything to do with squeamishness. I think it was more for cultural reasons. Not only that, but we have had guns in the past in the form of explosives and lasers. Whether we see bullets or not remains to be seen. I can’t think of any big Nintendo series that uses bullets in their weapons anyway.
And for new franchises, I want Tom Nook playable. If Phoenix Wright can happen, so can Tom Nook.
Except they didn’t really make stuff up for them. Falcon was always stated to be some superhero with powers and fighting ability. Peach uses golf clubs, umbrellas, frying pans and turnips, which she has used in her games. And nothing needed to be made up for ice climbers and pit because they’re using the same abilities and weapons they had in their games. They’ve got absolutely nothing with Dixie. Deal with it.
Fox always knew kung fu and could turn himself on fire. He always had a reflector. He could always do Zoros shishisonson. Its common knowledge.
Falco has always been shown to do the exact same things.
For some reason explosives and lasers are considered less awful and terrible than actual guns, which is odd because in real life they’d cause quite a bit more damage than a gun. Sakurai had to explain away why Snake didn’t get any gun moves.
For the Ice Climbers, when did they have the ability to shoot Ice from their hammers or their hands? When did they ever team up together like they do in Smash Bros.? Nana was always player 2.
@negative-Zer0
Fox’s specials were more or less based off the Arwings. I will give it to you on the normals. Who’d think Fox could do a scorpion kick?
Fox Fire = Boost
Laser = Laser (derp)
Reflector = Barrel Roll
Fox Illusion = Warp(?)
Though I’d love if Falco got a Flash kick in reference to the somersault.
Falcon is a racer. He didn’t have anything outside of his Blue Falcon. Everything he had came from in those games originated in Smash. Unless Falcon punch was in F-zero and F-Zero FX and I didn’t know about it. :razzy:
Stuff was made up for Pit. He got a re-design for Brawl. His bow didn’t double as dual swords in his original game. Ice Climbers only had two attacks in their original. Hit shit with hammer and use hammer to knock ice into enemies. Obviously that have that and more in Smash. Dixie would be fine. I’m not going to continue this any further as you have a strong biase against Dixie for whatever reason.
If you never noticed, they modeled Capt. Falcon as a toukusatsu character. Best thing ever if you ask me.
I’m personally excited for this announcement hopefully this iteration will bring the Smash Bros series back to its roots when it was good (64, Melee). As a semi-competitive smash bros player the day i got my hands on brawl it just played bad. I wasn’t knowledgeable about these competitive gaming forums so I didn’t have the complete knowledge of the changes, it was just me and the small communities who played constantly. We dropped Brawl like 2 weeks in and went back to Melee too this day its still Melee.
Not to derail the convo but why is this in GD but Playstation All Stars in FGD? Does the SRK community hate Smash that much that even clones are considered fighters?
Sugarcube…yew ready ta git apple-bucked?
