im up studying for finals and it jus kinda hit me…if u get trapped blocking wit strider/doom… would push blockin at n e point in the trap give u an opening to escape?
push between the two phases of dooms’ rocks and you can super jump as soon as the second hits you
watch his meter… you can do it too when he’s just teleported
typically, the EASIEST way to get out
let them corner you, wait for it, push block, and dash back… they wont teleport correctly
just watch for rings…
seriously… a good strider doom is a hard matchup
if they get you in it, the best option is an invincible assist. no lie…
Heh, good luck getting out of block stun long enough to call it. Getting it to hit Strider is a different matter entirely.
pushblocking = guard cancel… push block, reblock, call the assist… you want to make strider either block, or knock doom out of the rocks…
You still need a period where you aren’t being hit by anything in order to call assist. A good S/D won’t let up for a while.
dude… u can pushblock ahvb, and call an assist in the middle of being hit by a second ahvb (while blocking of course)
it’s possible, but hard.
there’s no set way to get out of it, as there is a set way to get out of spiral/sent trap… just giving pointers. nothing is set in stone against S/D
I would say that depends on how fast they did the second AHVB. If one was able to jump straight up (hold up after blocking the first one) before the second AHVB hit, then yeah, assist would have came out (meaning that jumping up = no block stun), but it wouldn’t be because you called it during block stun, only during the period between supers.
Ahem the whole screen? Right…
You can avoid hailstorm by getting right under her and you can get inbetween the branches of lightning storm.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody avoid every piece of hail.
Can’t you fly off the screen and avoid it?
if someone is trying to do a random ass lightning storm then yea u can avoid the branches but everytime its gonna be from an aircombo ending in lightning attack then lightning storm…also thats y i dont jus do hailstorm out ofthe blue i do whirlwind then hailstorm to make sure i keepat distance and at least chip them… very rarely should u get n e one that close to u if ur using hailstorm
No…
yeah. who would do LS randomly. 90% of the time it would be an air combo or a simple LA in any direction and cancelled to LS if it hits/connects.
hailstorm is good. true you can get under it, but most people who do hailstorm see too it that the opponent is maybe in blockstun or in any position that he/she can’t retaliate. just my opinion.
EDIT: some typo errors. sorry
Well apparently Sanford Kelly did the opposite and beat out Potter in no time.
For the record, you can fly off screen and not get hit by hail. but this takes already being up there, having a char that can get that high (Storm) and someone doing a random hail at the bottom.
Not very useful, but if a storm super jumps, dashes up, LA’s up, and the storm on the ground does a hail while she’s off screen, the hail won’t hit, or at least it hasen’t when I’ve seen it, it might be the direction of the hail goes at an angle and your right above that, I don’t know.
I do know that if your off screen even if Storm does a super that should have a wide hitbox and go off screen, it won’t hit. like the top of a LS that gets cut off by the top of the screen.
EDIT: I just talked to Skisonic and he said that it’s weird, there is a small part off the screen you can get hit, but a little more and you won’t be. So you have to be right off screen, and just little higher and then things that should hit won’t.
I knew you could cuz i did it b4.
Thank you parry
Didnt know where else to ask this and I didnt feel like starting a new thread.
after this:
launch + mags proj, sj.fk XX ad forward, mags assist hits, lk, lk, land, then…
…Does storm have any jumping/sj infinites ala magneto style? I heard something about a [sj.lp xx ad down, whiff] repeat type juggle (or is that with mags only?)
…what are some decent follow ups?
Follow ups I’ve found so far:
…sj.lk, lk, ad forward, lk, lk, LA xx LS. Flashiness cuz damage sucks unless you DHC.
…land, sj. XX ad down fp (overhead) > whatever
…dash to other side, cross up or sj. XX ad down fp (overhead)
…land, launch.
For damage, just do s.hk+Mag ^ sj.hp xx df-LA uf-LA xx LS > MS
To reset, I would try:
s.hk+Mag ^ sj.hp addf sj.lk sj.mk land sj tj.lp (crossup) c.lk c.mp c.hk ^ aduf sj.lk sj.mk LA xx LS dhc
s.hk+Mag ^ sj.hp addf sj.lk sj.mk land sj.lk addf sj.hp/hk (whiff) c.hp+Mag ^ sj.hp xx df-LA uf-LA xx LS dhc
Alright, so I tested a few of them. Here’s a useful one.
tj.lk c.lk c.mp s.hk+Mag sj uf sj.hp addf sj.hp
Sets up a 5-fierce style wakeup.
Another useful one:
s.hk+Mag sj uf sj.hp addf sj.lk dash behind c.lk c.mp s.hk ^ sj.hk adf sj.lk sj.mk LA xx LS
c.lk c.mp c.hk+Mag xx LA xx LS is a crossup that’s ridiculously hard to block. If they don’t block the LA crossup, the EM Disruptor will knock them to the other side and may stun them enough for the LS to combo. If not, the beam will knock them to the other side and the LS will hit anyway due to the 0-frame properties.
That is, if they block properly after getting hit over Storm by the beam, but seriously, if somebody can block that before the super activation, they can probably confirm Ken’s c.mk xx Shippu.
Msp
Are these worth using?
c.lk, s.hp + Psy-AA, Hail…
c.lk + Mag-Proj, s.hp, Hail…
On a second note, do people arial block Hailstorm because it does less chip damage?
