Spent like an hour yesterday practicing FF combos and got ONE FF combo with capcom
Donāt worry man, thatās how it is for everyone. FF is just one of those things that starts out hard, but after a few weeks/months it gets EASY. Just gotta practice
I got a newbie question about sentinel. I am having trouble dashing in when I do this combo in fly mode: L.k, H.k,(unfly), dash in, whatever. For some reason I cant dash in fast enough after I unfly and land. Is there a trick to doing it?
454Casull - Best thing I can tell you is to (I am assuming u mean the FF combo where sent does L.k, H.p(commando hits), rocket punch) do the 3 button fly method. When you go into fly mode hit the capcom assist button when you fly.
If you are having trouble fast flying altogether do this method. You have probably heard people say to leave the stick in neutral, well that doesnt work for me. Al I do, which works 100%, is to just move the stick in a complete circle when I fast fly. Just bring the stick all the way around to the front again.
s. hk sj sj.lk xx ff ub/u/uf/f f.lk + CC f.hp dp rp?
Yeah, you know how you press L.k & H.k to go into fly mode. Just press commandoās assist with the 2 Kick buttons. Then just bring the stick in a FULL clockwise circle.
Thatās too confusing for me. I just did it the ordinary way and Iāve upped my success rate to 20% (Sent+Mag FF)
I actually have a question. In theory Matrix would be a more defensive team than Santhrax right? And what teams counter Matrix and Santhrax, and what do they counter in the same regard?
And I have a little ok combo with Sent/Storm-a. Here goes, and if this was posted, disregard the combo and all.
s.hk+Storm, sj. lk, sj. hk, Storm hits, cr. hpxxrpxxHSF.
Being that I canāt fast fly just yet, I had to come up with some way to punish till I can fast fly. Itās pretty good damage as well. If you have 3 meters to burn, you can do that combo above, tack on another cr. hpxxrpxxHSF, and then DHC in hail after that. If you do that, itāll take over 90% on a Cable(with the DHC and all).
Okay, the match JUST starts, can I do any fast fly combos?
I have no idea how to GET fast fly. (Which I imagine, is different than getting unfly.)
Fast flying is activating flight and cancelling the recovery. QCB + 2K to fly and tap any direction to cancel. Generally, fast fly combos are performed in the air so if you can get them launched in the beginning⦠or you could do j.lp xx ff f.lp f.hk lp RP or something.
Unfly [mode] is a state that Sentinel can be in - it puts Sentinel into superjump mode after deactivating flight, instead of normal jump mode (with an action already performed). Basically, unfly mode lets you attack or block after unflying.
soryy nub here so i was wondering if any of you guys can tell me taht sentinel air infiā¦i think its the one where he is on the other side of the screen and so is the opponent, and when he does the air juggle at the end he hits the with his foot and they go all the way back up
Sentinel doesnāt have any air infinites worth learning except the one against an assist char (opponentās point char dies or is snapped out):
s.hk ^ sj.lk FF [f.lk f.mk f.dpRP] repeat bracket until dead
I get what youāre saying, but itās not an infinite, and it is really easy to learn.
Off of any HSF(qcf kk), you can dash (ff or f + pp) and launch, which Sentās is st. hk, and that is what makes them go up into the air.
Also off of HSF, you can do an hp (standing or crouching) xx hp RP xx HSF until you run out of meters, making that a semi infinite, but it is very discouraged upon because the damage gets scaled back after 2 reps.
Also, Sent has the Unfly semi-infinite, which requires you to be in Unfly mode:
st. hk /\ sj. lk xx [fly xx f. lk, f. fp xx outfly(what i call it going out of fly mode), sj. lk, sj. fp xx fly xx f. lk, f. fp ], repeat from brackets till you run out of unfly.
I hope any of this helps.
yea man thanks a lot coos coos, i really apreciate it a lot =)
That unfly combo in the corner is really flashy, but doesnāt do the damage you might want to be looking for.
I know that you didnāt specifically ask for the combo in terms of doing damage, but it is typcially best to do the combo and utilze an assist such as magneto-a or Commando-b.
I love that unfly combo though, its a good way to get that extra hit in which is often important, and determines the outcome of the match
Since were talking about unfly combos, I have some questions.
Do any of you consciously utilize and keep track of if you have unfly or not?
And if you have unfly, do you make sure and tiger knee the flight activations or sj then activate flight?
idk, to me it seems hard to use and keep track of unfly in the heat of battle. I guess Iām asking how you guys use it to the fullest. thx.
Also, is that āfull-circleā motion for ff activation pretty much the standard way to do it?
Iām not a great sent player by any means, but i do say YES you have to keep up with unfly mode b/c there will be instances you will need it to do certain combos that only work when in unfly mode, and at top level it can make the diff in a match. itās just like everything else in the game, after you play it for a while itās just normal.
yes you have to super jump then activate flight otherwise you loose it.
lastly, i donāt use the full circle to do fast fly combos, i just do two quarter circles, it just seems more natural and i can hit them fairly consistent
2 qcfās or qcbās?
Does no one use the (qcb+KK, nuetral, tap any direction) method any more?
The tap method seems to be the most consitant and the most versatile, since you can choose any direction to tap afterwards. Being able to vary Sentās position during combos, even slightly, can really help in alot of situations (after connecting a random j.lk for example). Itās just as easy to execute as the circle methods once you get it down, too.
Just IMHO⦠I think learning to use the tap method will improve anyoneās game with Sentinal in the long run⦠although it might not be worth all the time it takes to re-learn FF combos if youāre already getting good results with another method.
I guess the tap method has a steep learning curve, b/c of the precision it takes to get it up to 100% accuracy. Iām tried doing it the 360 way, but ended up sticking with the double qcf.
back, since the fly motion is qcb, my bad, you have to understand tho, all you need is one direction, so you do what you find easiest
i agree with j99, tap is probably better, but itās just harder to position for someone starting out
