[Newbie] Sentinel Thread - Q & A

ffly- just do a full circle motion+lk,hk then any move after that. Just move the stick in a full circle instead of half circle back, neutral.

So its basically: fly, then spin the stick all the way around to back in a clockwise motion and then continue the combo?

Yep that’s basically what you do. Just do it fast enough so that any move that you do after fly mode still combo’s.

i really can’t get the timing… pls people, help me… when i combo, then neutral, then tap the desired direction w/ a button right? do you do it fast or slow? help me… commy help me… my sentinel is the best here becuase all the other sentinels suck… pls help me. and don’t hurt me…:frowning:

oh c’mon guys… pls help me… when i do the combo, i think i’m doing the right thing… but after the fly, it doesn’t connect… i could do it about 1 out of 3 tries… pls help me…

Maybe it’s the height of your Sentinel… Try not to connect the combo so fast after launching. I don’t know if this will help you, but it helped me.

The reason your attack after flight isn’t coming out is because you’re not “tapping” a direction fast enough after flying. The easiest way I find to remedy this problem is to not actually “tap” a direction, but to do a qcb motion. For example w/ CapCom: Launch, jab, fly, qcb + jab + assist, fierce, rp. Basically, after doing the first hit off the launcher, you do two qcbs with the right buttons. I find this much easier than timing just a “tap” after flying.

I used to have the same problem. That whole leave the joy stick in neutral (IMO) doesnt work. I would try that all the time and nothing would happen. What i do is : lk, full circle lk+hk, lk or what ever. instead of doing- qcb+kk, neutral- just bring the joystick all the way around to the front again doing a full circle. That works just fine for me and you can continue a fast fly combo with that. I hope that helps.

Damn man I thought you were good coz your always teasing capcom jeff… and you cant even do fast flies?? WTF?? hehehe… peace bro… when u launch then SJ release the stick to neutral so when you fly u can point it to a direction more easier… Damn I dont know how to explain!! hahahaha… :lol: :lol:

hey maya, haha, dunno why this is directed at me, i’m not necessarily the authority on sent by any means necessary… but i think EVERYONE had this problem when learning fast fly. the only advice i can give you is this:

-when you fast fly, or when i do it…
w/ mags, launch, short(should be at a height where the short hits their head), fly, short and up forward + mags, fierce, rp

now, honestly, the thing i notice when ppl mess up their fast flies is that they do it too fast. you have more time to pause after the short, fly … than you think, hope that helps, and do get back to me if you can do it now or you still can’t, always here to help:)

why i chose you? i see your vids man and that shit just crack me up! you’re too good… i already know how to do a fastfly combo… but i’m having a hard time doing it on the right side. my question is how do you attack when you unfly?

I keep on hearing about corners combos for Sentinel, but what do you do without super and far from the corner. There must be something much better than:

HK / LP*2, qcf.HP

I also don’t understand why some people want to use LK instead of LP (cause I miss most of the time) in:

HK / LK*2, uppercut HP

ok first off never use sents airiel super unless ur goin to use it to DHC do to ur life is low or ur goin to DHC into Storm’s HS

as for corner combo’s theres only 1 that i know thats corner spacific that doesnt utilize Unfly mode the combo goes

launch, sj.lk, FF, f.lk, lk, dp rp, fp [ Grab ] lk + CapCom AAA, fp, lp rp

Now to get u off of HK / LP*2, qcf.HP use this combo

launch, lk, FF, lk + CapCom AAA, fp, lp rp ( lk, lk, dp rp or lk, fp rp )

or my personal favorite

launch, lk, FF, lk, lp rp, lk + Capcom AAA, fp, lp rp ( lk, lk, dp rp or lk, fp rp )

now IMO the reason people use lk instead of lp is 'cause lk has better range then lp and also in ur combo HK / LK*2, uppercut HP the lk raise the character high enough for the dp rp to land ezer that or because it does a little more damage but im not sure

Note: the ( )'s in the combos above are only extensions to the combos so there not nessisary plus there kinda hard to land 100% of the time also to Fast Fly ( FF ) u have to goto neutral then tap up or up forward

example: lk, { FF, neutral, up/up forward } lk

the { }'s is relitivly fast it takes a little practice but after u get the hang of it its really ez to do oh and dont post any questions on the timing for the FF combo here 'cause theres already like 12 threads with timing Q’s and A’s most of them are in the Fast Fly combo Thread’s so look there

After the neutral for the FF, you don’t have to hit U or U/F, it just has to be any direction. Could be down, back, whatever. Not crazy important just thought I’d remind people of that.

if im not mistaking i thought the ideal direction to hit was up for the extended version of the combo?
