aight so im completely new to mag, storm, sent…i played this game a lil bit back in the day but nothing advanced…anyways can sum1 direct me to the first things a brand new mag player shud learn…like right now im trying to get down tri jumping but i keep doing fierce punch when i go airborn…also i still gettin use to the tournament stick:sweat:…so any help is aprrecated…i no just reading wont magically make me good i plan on practicing like hell

How do u connect hyper grav into tempest in the air.
I launch them then lp lk mp mk, bt i cant get the hyper grav to grab them after the mk. The opponents character just falls and the hyper grav follows them down but doesnt connect. I know it’s supposed to be instant bt i hav no clue what im doing wrong at the moment
Penbi, u can try launch, lk, mk, Hyper grab XXX tempest, its a lot easier and it connects… also for the timing to connect tempest after the hyper grab, u must cancel into tempest after the hyper grab the fastest posible, even if u cant see the hyper grab image yet, hope it helps.

Lol, just sj.lk, addf in mid screen or add if u r in the corner, wait until the end of air dash, then in the air, lk, mk, and do what ever, this guard break its the easiest, also be patient next time, lol.

What’s the easiest way to land a HP throw at absolute max height? (assuming launcher of some kind to start.)
Working HP throw to flight cancel + assist… various setups. Gotta be pretty high tho seemingly or they end up mashing before the assist gets there. Really fun tho…
I think that the easiest way is: launch, lp, lk, mp, slight pause, magic series, aduf, lp, lk, mp, Hp throw, this will take them to the top of screen, timing is little tricky but it works even on heavy characters… So yeah, gotta be really fun… And interesting too.
What are some things to know about MSS (RP or Drones) or MSCyclops?
Well thats a good question, first, i think mss its the most powerful team on the game, as it is composed by the 3 best characters, i don’t really use to play mss drones but i know some stuff with mss RP.
In this team u don’t have anti air assist, may be that will be the biggest disadvantage, so it makes it a 100% offense team, cause u can’t just wait 4 them, call psylocke, and etc… It means that in this team u really must know how to play ur 3 characters alone. So remember to learn mags and storm infinites, setups, resets etc, and sent 90% combos.
First u must have a solid strat, storm and magneto are able to finish a team on maybe 30 seconds , but they are fragile characters so must be really careful and smart when rush down. I use sentinel to punish my enemies assist, except against cable, if they are really noobs, i do rp + 5 fierce combo, this combo makes great damage, mag and storm can do it. If u r going vs msp i think that would be easier to start with sentinel at point, play zoning game and rape that psylocke!!! Just be careful with double snap kills.
Vs santhrax i find very easy to start with mag at point, i do s.lp + storm proj assist, c.hk, and when storm OTG sent or sent and commando i just go into s.hk, snap, and just kill commando, after that just guard break storm and the rest its history, if they start with storm at point and miss the first attack, just be careful with commando and rush her, of course in the ground, ur storm proj assist its very useful cause she will hit commando assist right before he can counter ur rush down, if u don’t rush her ass… storm will rush u and i die very often when she does that. When u play storm on point, u don’t have an slow assist to cover u, at least when having rp assist, but the great thing its that u don’t need to get closer!!! Storm can just run away, wait 4 a mistake and do a 80% combo starting with rp assist (i love rp assist), if u don’t like to run away, just rush down carefully.
At the end of the hard matches i always feel so comfortable because at the end usually u play one vs one, if u were careful about calling sent assist, no body wanna play one vs one against a smart sentinel believe me!!!
Also for cable based teams just remember to be patient, care of ur assist, get a solid hit and finish him.
For MSS drones team, i think u can just rush after drones or make some cross ups, look khaos matches, he plays bout mss teams. So thats all i can think right now, hope it helps, and sorry but i don’t play cyclops.
Your suggestions are obviously written with good intentions and from your own experience, I’ll help you fill some of the details particularly for high level play.
MSS drones is by far an inferior team to MSS rocket punch. As for general team ranking and placement, MSS should always be played Magneto first, no exceptions. With Santhrax (or with cyclops assist for Jwong) commonly agreed to be #1, MSS hovers around #4 (arguable one slot higher or lower). MSS drones without question is worse than MSP, Santhrax, Matrix, Storm/Sentinel/Cable, Row, and Team Scrub, Combofiend, hanging in there with teams like Watts, Storm/Cable/Cyclops, most Clockworks, etc.
Magneto based teams with a strong anti air aka MSP, perhaps ROW, etc. are the bane of MSS. MSS has 0 ground control in this matchup and is forced to the skies, facing the risk of getting crossed up. Furthermore, once MSS (and it will) is forced into blockstun once from an AAA, it’s an automatic free mixup attempt opportunity for the other team. The entire fight is literally fought without an assist for fear of a double snap from psylocke.
MSS’s speciality is to counter call. You bait out assists and punish them accordingly with rocket punch assist. RP assist is one of the nastiest counter call assists, and furthermore synergizes well with Sentinel’s endurance allowing him to soak up a huge amount of hits while doing so. In case you’re wondering, this doesn’t work with drone assist.
Ultimately, if never facing MSP, MSS is one of the best teams in the game. MSS’s greatest strength is the power of it’s DHCs, and ability to make comebacks so long as your characters are alive. However, unfortunately, one of the major weaknesses of this team is that is has the lowest defense in the game. Without an AAA or panic button, you must rely solely on your zoning, blocking, (and offense is the best defense right?). MSS has the 2nd biggest reliance (worst is combofiend) on keeping characters alive. Other teams can survive on one duo or missing characters (see Magneto/Psylocke (heck even Storm/Psylocke), Sentinel/Capcom), mostly working off of one god member and one good assist.

Magneto guardbreaks guys? I see people doing the rom until they finally guardbreak and they fall into whatever. What are the inputs exactly?
What is the best combo for MSS to DHC Mags out and get Storm in?
I think the typical mag guardbreak is an early sj.lk,.hk addf GB j.lk,lk to ROM with the perfect timing its inescapable. or for sent most people do. sj.HK, adf, magic series (time the hits slowly) and one of the hits in the magic series will guard break him.
with mss pretty much you can do any air combo to hypergrav, tempest and DHC to hailstorm. thats the best way. MSS is really good because you can kill characters easily if you do short short, RP, Launch, 5 fierce then that makes your opponent guess high or low, and if you get the mixup to a short, short, RP again just launch, magic series, hypergrav, tempest, and dhc into hailstorm right away and that kills a character lol.
it’s not inescapable depending on move.
I recommend doing a s.lp, hk personally. hits higher up/earlier for mashers.
midscreen you follow up with the addf lk mk. if they push block, press 1 button, land, sj. lk, mk.
midscreen on sent follow up with ADF lp, holding down, lk, mp, mk.
corner a truly beastly guarbreak is sj, add lk delay mk
I prefer drones with MSS…get 'em in guardstun, mixup into ROM. use DHCs in nearly any order for death and to get to preferable matchups/situations (trade out sentinel against cable if he’s still alive/coming in…bring in sentinel for unblockables…etc.)
