NEW Up to Date Rules: Updated April 18th 2011

To cut back on scamming and other issues, what if we set up someone as a 3rd party payment system and got everyone (as as many people who wanted to opt in) to route their transactions through them? Basically it would be a 3rd party paypal that the buyer would send the money to, then the seller would be alerted that the buyer had paid and would send the product. When the buyer receives the product and it checks out, the 3rd party would forward the money on to the seller.

In theory that’s a good idea but who is trurstworthy enough to do this AND has the time and desire to do this?

Ok I understand I can’t sell till 50 post, and that I can buy with out a problem. So I assume I can post WTB: if I’m looking for something.

Is this Correct?

yes sir, as long as it’s legal

kool… thanks

Edit:

Never mind it says I cant post

In theory it’d be good, but that’s how a LOT of scams are run online.

Quick Warning, I know there’s only 24 of you out there but you are NOT allowed to sell your Gold TE sticks. Any attempt will lead to immediate infraction + thread closing. I don’t care who you are.

Not that I own one or want to buy one, but I’m just curious as to the reason why? If they own it and its their legal property, why wouldn’t they be allowed to sell it?

I’m guessing none-would due to the high amount of sentimental value it would have, but regardless…

I’m not given reasons but I’m assuming the “PROMOTIONAL ITEM: NOT FOR RESALE” tag under the stick is part of it.

I know you won’t like me saying it but I’m going to say it anyway. If the owner of one of these sticks truly wanted to sell it, they could always eBay or whatever else. Sure there isn’t that many of them out there so it’s not impossible to track but if they really want to do it they will. I don’t see why you shouldn’t let them. Plus what if money really was tight and they desperately needed to get the next bill (usually not the case but just saying)?

Yes there’s other ways. And I can’t stop them from using those, but on here they won’t be able to.
As to why, well that’s not your or my decision to take.

If it’s going to be sold regardless… why wouldn’t the higher ups want to keep the stick within the community… ? :frowning:

Sorry, don’t mean to question the rules. Just my .02.

Whether it stays within the community is irrelevant. Once it’s sold it’s lost it’s purpose really. They don’t want us to facilitate the transaction.

No selling of gold sticks period!

something I wanted to touch base on concerning people who fail to respond to PM’s and emails as the merchant dealing with customers.

I have a reserve option for the items that I sale which acts as a way to not only indicate interest in an by paying a small amount ($10) but also allowing the customer to pay what they can for the item which is more than the prepay option. This issue has been resolved by me already but to protect myself and others in the future, as an just-in-case, I wanted to ask this question first:

If a customer pre paid for an item in May, was told by the merchant that item was available to be shipped once final payment was made in mid june, but the customer ignores/fails to respond to multiple emails/PMs/visitor messages/thread posts until late July by saying they bought another item from a different merchant so they want a refund. what should the merchant do?

a. just give a refund anyway (full payment) even though it’s been 30-60 days after sale
b. give a partial refund (half the amount) due to late response and after 30-60 day period
c. no refund. late response and after 30-60 day period.

thanks in advance

(my error was in my actual situation (I guess) was I stated that i would issue refunds if I could’nt get another third party to print my items and if it took to long to make the items. that is the only reason why I issued a refund anyway even though I felt I was not in the wrong since I did get a different third party to make my items while making multiple attempts to contact the customer.)

So who did it?
