Well shit…
And the plot thickens…
There was never a log to being with?
It’s an oil barrel, according to LL.ND’s report. Now that’s a plot twist worthy of M. Night Shyamalan.
Well since they’re oil barrels… confirmed for hollow.
Nothing solid as of yet!
From the latest Seth/Niitsuma interview:
“…and how difficult it can be to balance 50 characters while keeping every character feeling like a super hero.”
Poor movement, weak damage, few options. Hsien-Ko is MY superhero.
Sigh. Well, at least we know Ghost Rider is our Dhalsim. Not if that wasn’t obvious already, but in reference to the earlier discussion. Seth! What is she supposed to do?
And who knows? Those barrels could be filled with oil for all we know! This is obviously the first thing we need to test.
Capcom budget wouldn’t actually allow them to add oil to the barrels, that money is better spent on health nerfs!
Oil barrels should add poison status like Hawkeye’s arrows.
Considering the luck she has been having, this would probably cause poison on Hsien Ko as well.
Oil Barrels : Status effect - Causes Hsien-Ko to slip and bust her ass when she walks. Her weapons fall out of her hands and getting hit by fireballs sets her on fire, permanently.
You know, at this point, I wouldn’t mind a poison effect on an item. If they’re going with this whole stupid item gimmick, at least put that on. It looks strong on Hawk, anyway.
Hey, look at it this way. She could have an item that can heal the opponent like Faust.
Seth: “In the changes from the Comic-Con build to the gamescom build, Hsien-Ko’s meat item can now heal opponents.”
See what happens when there’s nothing substantial to talk about with a character, Capcom?
Seth : “another of Hsien-kos new items to toss includes a miniature statue of 12 from SF3 3rd strike, if it hits the opponent, that character actually permanently becomes Hsien-Ko also until the end of the match, that way, they can also see the suffering that we are causing the loyal Hsien-Ko players, and then maybe that will create more players who beg us to buff Hsien-Ko.”
this game is kinda fun, but also deeply tragic at the same time …
I would really like someone to ask and get an answer from Seth or Niitsuma or Neo_G about her and whether they ever plan to change her from being a wonky ass zoning character. Why there was a decision to take away her mixups, and if they’ve even noticed how bitter they made fans of her in VS by doing so.
Making Darkstalkers fans bitter is nothing compared to the rage that would ensue if Capcom neglected a popular series like Megaman.
Hold on…
TGS could be our savior (hurr hurr). I have this weird vision of a random Japanese player from the - probably very small - UMvC3 crowd asking about her, seeing as she seems to be much more popular over there. Provided not everyone’s over at the SFxT booth, that is. Just something to let Capcom know that there are actually people out their who see how much potential she has. At least an explanation, even if it’s BS.
Wow, I’m sounding desperate.
Maybe Zero can get that X alternate costume, and losing his hard knockdown off of buster is hardly a damning nerf considering what berderper slash is getting. If someone is a sincere fan of Rockman games and simultaneously a fan of playing MvC they’d probably be happy a character like Zero can regularly fuck shit up in capable hands.
Lei Lei fans got a Felyne plushie and a Steel Samurai Statue to fall out of her sleeves during the character introductions. I think one has more to complain about than the other. =/
Fuck, they should add Lin Lin as a dlc character and give her some nice mixups and I’d probably play her instead.
Yeah, it was a jab at the whole the whole X debacle. I should’ve worded it better or just said “Could you imagine the outrage if Dante was somehow bad?” I still can’t believe there’s a (admittedly smaller now) crowd who complains about Zero and Dante’s “nerfs.”
I want to see Lin Lin dancing around in the background during Rimoukon. It’s the coolest-looking Dark Force, with Zabel’s LaMarta chainsaw in second.
And lol, dancing with Ammy-style paper moves that somehow act as overheads. Only problem is you’d be missing out on all the blue cleavage.
I know you were being sarcastic, just saying. I have a soft spot for the old Megaman games, but I’m not a diehard enough fan to care about him being in a fightin game. If I was I’d take my Zero cake and nom on it happily. Bulletta being my 2nd in VS, if she was implemented well in MvC I’d probably drop Lei Lei for her pretty soundly etc.
I’d gladly forsake blue cleavage in exchange for a character who is fun to play. I’m looking at UMvC3 as a fresh game though, and don’t have heightened expectations of, “whoo, new game with Lei-Lei, hells ya muddafuckahs!” … which was totally me in February. u___u
I could even wind up settling on Zero as a new main, and if he had an X costume to troll with, all the better!
With Seth’s announcement that Ryu’s getting a freaking Hadouken that multi-hits, among other changes to other characters, my hope for Lei Lei is waning. Sure, I’ll still use her. But right now I’m banking on having more fun in the eventual DS4 and playing as her in VSav now.
It’s like she isn’t even considered a character anymore, and have settled at considering her a “playable cameo”.
Forgot to mention this. On the game’s box art, the ratings logo is placed right on Hsien-Ko’s face. Probably not intentional, but I found it sadly funny regardless.
The latest from Seth’s Twitter:
“balancing is… hard. maybe it should be street hugger iv and nobody has to fight anymore.”

I’m tempted to post on Niitsuma’s Twitter. Does he take questions like Ono does (if you can say Ono really answers anything)?
I think it’s strange that Hsien Ko is on the cover at all to be honest. Figured they’d want more of the headliners on there. Though really, with more reveals to come that cover art might be changing.
