The Rocket Raccoon posts from people who went to the Japan event keep mentioning that Hsien-ko was in the videos, and that she was “going crazy all over the screen in gold armor mode”. Likely, he just saw someone using it properly on point against an ignorant opponent, but what if Hsien-ko actually got all the buffs people have been wanting, but only in gold armor mode? 
This could be true! after all Mei Ling is the character who maintain the Hsien-Ko powers under control. Gold Armor super “Rimoukon” should not only add hyper armor but increase all atributes she has. After all is like a “Limit Breaker”.
1 bar cost for 5 seconds of a character being decent and you can’t build meter? Totally worth it.

Having hyper armor is already a ridiculously strong power. I know Hsien-ko is not good, but Rimoukon plus any kind of substantial offensive boost would make for the best buff hyper in the game, and would give her the strongest offense there is. I think people underrate how strong Rimoukon is because they are tying it to how bad Hsien-ko is.
I hope they weren’t talking about a cinematic trailer.

Lei Lei isn’t know for going crazy in this game. That’s VSav stuff. So I’m curious as to what that means.
Hyper Armor, if you actually do manage to get in on the opponent, pretty much means free combo. I can see why it’s hard to balance, but I don’t think they did their best at trying to balance it. If she does get good stuff in Rimoukon, it could be powerful, but I don’t think five seconds is enough time to abuse anything in it. Maybe they’re trying to go for a “Don’t let her get five bars!” Phoenix approach.
I’m thinking Raccoon gave her some sort of buff beforehand. The poster said she just showed up for five seconds in the trailer.
Ah, I see. Someone said a trailer and RR not being seen, so I automatically assumed it was the epic cinematic trailer instead.
I have to 100% disagree with you here. Hyper(or super) armor is ridiculously powerful on characters who can take advantage of it - characters like Sentinel and Hulk - who are able to abuse it and deal shitloads of damage. Hsien-Ko can’t do that. She can’t deal enough damage in a single combo for her hyper armor to be abusable.
Now let’s talk duration. Combined with the fact that she is already slow, easily ran from and her approach is incredibly predictable, 5 seconds isn’t enough time to get in on an opponent. The only time I’ve been able to nail someone with gold armored Hsien-Ko is when they didn’t respect her and tried to go for a throw, or forgot what the buff does and tried to just attack her. Basically people have to be ignorant of what the buff does in order to really take advantage of it. The only time that a gold-armored Hsien-Ko on point is threatening is when she’s in XF3, because it becomes much harder to run from her and not get caught in a Pendulum swing. Harder, but not certainly not impossible. And even then, all you need to do is not press buttons, block effectively and hold up back. She can’t do shit.
Now let’s talk trade-offs. In it’s current state, Rimoukon isn’t worth the meter cost if you’re using it on point outside of XF3. Even if it gave her an across the board speed and damage buff, I’d still think it wasn’t worth it because of the 5 second duration and lack of meter gain. If they buffed it to 10 seconds… then we’ll talk.
Finally, let’s talk buff comparisons. Yes, the idea of hyper armor is threatening, but when put on Hsien-Ko, it just makes her a polished turd with a golden sheen. It’s no certainly no Devil Trigger, which gives Dante access to a ridiculously powerful beam attack which deals major chip damage, a psycho crusher attack which can’t be pushblocked, an across the board damage and speed buffs, recovers his red life, and lasts for 10 seconds. On top of that, Dante is already a much more intimidating character than Hsien-Ko and capable of much greater screen control, mixup potential and damage dealing.
Let’s face facts here. Rimoukon is a good buff put on a shitty character which makes it all but worthless. If Hsien-Ko was a better character, Rimoukon might be more worthwhile to use on point, but in Hsien-Ko’s current state, outside of XF3, it is pretty much a waste of a bar.
I want to see her about to Pendulum swing into Taskmaster’s face while he tries to aim at her with the bow in that trailer. Come on, Capcom. It’s perfect.
And lol at your trolling with the KGB the other day. I was just like, “Who is that?” and then I got crit punched. And your Haggar spray… I saw it and thought that it had to be yours, but another guy’s name showed up when I looked at it, so I complimented him and he didn’t respond. When you left it showed that other guy’s spray was a grandma or something. I felt so weird. Then I laughed.
Maybe it is just a cinematic thing. I think we’d be hearing more about it being a cinematic trailer released if that were the case, though. Hsien-ko fans ought not to put too much stock into this, but I thought I would pass it along.
