Haha. You better love Angel while you got her. 2002UM is the one that’s played the most, but it’s split between 98UM and 2002UM as to which is the “best”. Vets argue that 98UM is the most fundamentally sound.
VS is a great game. But at high-level, it’s a bitch. It’s fast as shit, straight rushdown, and momentum is everything. Every character gets played, even Vic. But it’s something to practice at. Like I said, it’s all about keeping momentum, so you need to have a bit of knowledge of situations to capitalize on stuff. I kinda gave up on trying to even become partially decent in it(Night Warriors/DS2 is more my speed and style). Was trying to do the nightly GGPO stuff, which I’d suggest if you want to be relevant in game. Ray(Kajoq) from KY is a beast, best Lei-Lei in states. But dude had to sell his soul to the devil to get that hot. And other people in KY try to keep a little scene for it, mainly the older GG players.
Last Blade 2 is supposed to be really good. I cant comment on it because I only played it once. SamSho5 Special is fun, I never learned it though. And without making this post longer than it already is, GGXXAC is perhaps the best 2D fighting game you will ever play. If they made like a HD Remix, with online, and DLC colors and all that next gen bullshit that opens wallets and makes a title “popular”, then the scene would pop back off, it’d finally get the lasting respect it deserves, and it’d blow every other fg(besides Capcom stuff) out of the water. That is, if people don’t be a bitch and say they got cramps in their fingers or sprained their wrists. Because it’ll happen. It’s going to happen.
Anyway, glad you could make it somewhere where you’re exposed to a decent array of various fgs. You can discover what you truly like and that classic shit was either:
a.) broken as fuck
b.) made with love
Lmao, appreciate it. Honestly, I don’t expect anyone here to play that game for long, not even me. Came to the conclusion that the only fg I really need, or care to look at for longer than 10 minutes is T6 and eventually, TTT2. So whenever I get bored or in one of my phases were I don’t wanna play games, or fgs period, all it takes is for me to watch a good match, or someone decent to shittalk me, and I’ll get a pad/stick in hand quick. That’s all it takes. Hours burned, lying to my gf because I was supposed to been home. It’s a true gem. I realize that now. And if GGXXAC was still being played, it’d be same way. Complete and balanced games with loads of depth. The creativity is the crack.

Man TTT2 is looking insanely cool, and I agree about GGXXAC. Although I didn’t get into fighting games seriously until I met Phil and the gang at MTSU, I did play GG for fun, and eventually had Phil teach me Ky stuff. I loved the gameplay, music, character designs, and style. Everything about it was awesome and even though I was never great/serious about it, it holds a special place in my heart. Jeez, just typing this makes me wanna put on my Ky outfit and play some haha!

You know you can play with classic ST settings right? Why do people always seem to not realize this? HDRemix is basically ST with another game packaged with it.

This is fucking hot. Right now my scene plays on the PC version of SF4 AE a lot in the evenings (mostly because they all have it for some reason and I don’t have a 360 stick yet). I play on my laptop (my gaming desktop is in storage in the USA still). I have to disable 3D backgrounds to play without lag. Then, someone in #drakenslag mentioned this…

I paid the $39 or whatever for a 2 year license. We’re now basically setting up streams for all of our casual matches because we can and because people who are doing other things like folding laundry or whatever actually watch and make fun of us and shit in IRC.
You just tell it what game you want to stream (choose SF4, for PC) then tell it what you want to stream to. It could be used for the Hauppage HD PVR, easily too.
It doesn’t support some of the crazy shit that wirecast does. But, it’s way easier and cheaper and gets the job done for casuals, etc. You can easily broadcast multiple sources too.
