i dunno i think most of the cast to this film are going to be unknowns outside of japan since nowhere else in the world is it gonna have huge cinematic appeal so i severely doubt any big actress from east or west is gonna be playing chunners
I can see a Ryu & Ken film now!!!
Ryu played by super butt whoopin TONY JAA for his super serious appeal and totally NOT JAPANESE!!! Ken will be play by the wild and totally unfunny OWEN WILSON to replace Shoryukens with PunDukens!
I think this movie would be better as a CGI or some shit. Please don’t tell me live action, well with computer technology the way it is now it might work, fireballs would look realistic and all. If Ryu is in it, please don’t cast a skinny aneorexic Chinese guy as him.
They have time for this shit instead of focusing on I don’t know making SF4?
Yeah, he’s Sho Kosugi’s son. If you don’t know who Sho Kusugi is, he did a bunch of the Ninja movies back in the day, Enter the Ninja, Nine Deaths of the Ninja, etc. If the movie had the word ‘Ninja’ in it around the 80s and 90s there was a really good chance he was in it!
Kane Kosugi also provided the voice of Ryu in the first Street Fighter Zero/Alpha anime too, and so far has been my favorite anime seiyuu/voice actor for Ryu, so I can’t hate on that.
0mg, i think a movie like advent children did ff7 some justice, i think they shouldve gone in that direction, make it all cgi, cuz you can be as fake as you want but it doesnt look really crappy.
I think when they do a real movie, they always fark up the fighting moves, like chun-lis hundred kick thing, how are they gona do that without making it look corny? But if it was cgi, they could do that perfectly and it would look sweet.
The advent children fighting scenes were freaking crazy good, and i think it did the game justice. It probly would take twice as long to make and many more people to make it if they did it that way tho. But id be willing to wait if it was going to be the same calibur as Advent Children was.
Wow, I had no Idea, guess it’s a good choice then.
I had a talk with some friends about this and an interesting point came up:
Why make tha movie something other than a Martial Arts flick if the games are about fights?
Seriously, get Yuen Woo Ping to choreograph the whole thing and we’re set; no need for anything else. Add some “Matrix” level SFX and every move can look right.
I dunno. Maybe going with Established Actors may not be the best way to go. These days anyone can be Martial Artist on film… if they’re willing to go through the training and discipline to do so. Look at Keanu Reeves!
I think for most of the roles that are for the more High Profile characters should be done through a through open call. This will open the door for budding Actors who are talented yet need the opportunity to make a vehicle for themselves.
But I guess to add to the discussion, I’d think Grace Park (of Battlestar Galatica fame) would make a pretty good Chun Li if I were to cast an established actress.
well its no suprise that there’ll be more games and another tv series just look at street fighters 15th anniversary comics action figures statues games animes new arcade machines etc.
you can complain all you want about them still not releasing street fighter 4 but look how long it took them to release number 3 after they did 2 capcom love milking their franchises for what they are worth and well we keep buying the stuff
raise your hands if you haven’t honestly bought something streetfighter related since street fighter 3 came out i doubt there’ll be many hands in the air
i’ll admit i’ve bought tons of streetfighter tat and i’ll probably end up buying a ton more come the 20th anniversary
They say it’s gonna be more Canon related than the first film which I think is great, however what will the story be around Chun Li, will it be more to do with her father’s death or a new storyline involving Gill?
