Hi, Frosty Faustings is coming up soon on January 2nd. Its Chicago’s biggest major tournament aside from MWC and last year we had a good turnout. Its a special event I run while I am back in the US since I live in Japan now. There will be some interesting Japanese prizes being raffled off and we will have players coming from all over the US.
Please sticky the event if you dont mind. Thank you.
Do you have any *idea *how many people my mom had to sleep with to get that stickied?
Seriously though (directed at Mods, etc.), I believe that there should be some level of review of events for stickies. The 2 month rule is a great sweeping idea for most tournaments/events as it keeps some of the smaller, local-level events from running rampant. The rule, however, does not really do justice on the larger, major events. I do not want to say there is a difference between a tournament that cost someone a few grand to rent out of a venue (Been there, done that) to an event that costs $40,000 or more to put on… but the reality is that there is.
Sure, it is the promoters/event managers problem BUT there should definitely be a measurement/rule to at least review who/what the event is and if it should be sticked, etc. I would imagine the issue will be that there is some level of subjectivity to it but it is an option… (i.e., this tournament is a “major”, but this one is not, etc.)
Why don’t we have a group of people made up of individuals from different regions to come together and decide what gets stickied and what doesn’t and when.
P.S. Valle I was trying to get ahold of you but the cell number I had for u has been disconnected. I’m going to PM you my number. I have a proposition for you.
