If this was the ranbat prize, I would train my Akuma up to Tokido’s level instantly:

What better way to motivate players to play at their best than being able to win something that can cook them good quality pizza, chicken, cookie, etc.
The only other fighting games I ever wanted to learn were Samurai Shodown and Garou
IMO they’re pokes are about the same but Hawk’s are a bit better. Lariat is waaaaaaaaay better than uppercut or any other Hawk antiair, not saying his are too bad though, uppercut and cr.HP are pretty good. Gief’s lp.spd range in this game especially is a just an unfair advantage. IMO AGAIN it depends on what style of play you want to do, if you’re looking for more pokes than I would go with T. Hawk, he’s much more patient then Gief, I feel like he’s better and depends more on fishing for that knockdown and going off of that. If you really wanna get serious play Hawk cause who the hell plays Hawk, I can play him a little bit just cause of Gief but you’d probably do pretty well, just hope and pray you never fight a Blanka.
lmfao!!! iI fucking love you johnny,no homo lol
best post eva! pizzaz plus bitch! where a totinos pizza pizza taste so good that you gotta eat another. that combined with pineapple soda,13 chocolate chip cookies from mcdonalds equals to a delicious meal that after you digest it from playing games like trojan, tmnt, double dragon 2, etc. you are forced to hit squabbs toilet at drop the devil some nuclear grenades while reading the latest issue of game informer.
LOL, I don’t remember anyone using Raiden much in ANY of the KOF stuff…this might be the most played KOF game in the states (because XII was so horrific) but I haven’t watched one video at all of it. I just know you had to hold a Kick button to get Raiden to do that drop kick so I’m sure you still have to work with him…
Welp, this is basically how I feel about things:
Skull girls looks slow, clunky, and just outright odd. Only blind people and pedos with a weird fetish for underage girls and tentacles are going to play this game…which explains why Kinetik and Duckie are excited about this game.
Kinetik you are free and I will prove that at the next ranbat.
Johnny, shouldn’t you want a rice cooker or something? Not a pizza maker!
Jas has an Ike and Turner relationship with Marvel 3. I will also beat you at Trojan too slaw.
SRKFADC your tag name is very scrubby, I think your Ken is free and you have no skill in any game whatsoever so your opinions don’t count on this forum. However they do hold more validity than Kinetik’s posts and opinions.
Kinetik, again I want to reiterate how free you are.
Peach Tea and lemonade is a god-like combo.
Hitboxes are for slaws with nothing else better to do with their time. (Besides Shawn McCool who would probably beat me on a hitbox from one side of the screen to the next, while holding his youngest child, because…he’s Shawn F’ing McCool)
Has anyone heard of Felonious Munk? Everytime FlyMike post, he reminds me of him…in a good way. Kinda looks like him too. You tube that fool.
I’m trying to figure out who has less skill, Squab or Josh…mhhmmmmm. One thing is for sure, they both have WAY more skill than Kinetik.
Abe and Sev are both very old and have the reaction times equivalent to that of my 75 year-old grandmother. That is the true reason they dropped Marvel 3.
LOL at people who defend Smush Bruthers.
I actually had a deep, serious post roaring to go to contribute about the discussion at hand. But I thought this troll post was much better. However, what I am going to write next is serious.
Squibbey Squab: I’m going to come to fight night this Wednesday, with my homie Chris and my fatboy swag in tow. I’m so serious about contributing to a payout for the next ranbat, I’m going to start out. Yup, I’m giving you $10 for the next SSF4:AE ranbat. And I know I won’t win. And if no one else contributes, keep it until the other slaws do, or go buy a beer or something, I owe you for all the fights I let you…I mean you won. So yea…
Honestly, Memphis lets stop being little pussies and get somewhat serious about this FG thing (I’m #1 on this list). I think the $10 ranbat season is a step in the right direction. And from now on, I will make a much better effort at making events and tourneys especially in this state. I mean you slaws won’t tip the waiters when you go out to eat on Wednesday so I know you cats have 10 simple bones to contribute to your local scene. My only request is that Kinetik doesnt get top 3 for the payout…but Balrog and I are going to make sure that doesn’t happen.
I already hate Little Ceasers so I made sure I had some interviews lined up for this upcoming week. Got one for CVS @ 9 a.m. I’m sure I wont be back on for a while. So until then…stay free and see everyone Wednesday!
Best GDBELL post ever. And not just because he made me sound awesome.
Also, I went to a Dutch friend’s house yesterday and there were 4 SF setups. I played for something like 7 hours straight. My defense totally fucking leveled up. Plus, I now have a ton of match-up experience against a good Seth and a good Sakura.
Level up TN because when I come and visit it’s going to be rape-town, USA.
Lotta stuff in that post. Sorry that I just now saw it, but I was busy watching a pretty awesome live Skullgirls stream.
Anywho, about Skullgirls:
– I think you’d like if if you at least tried it. They’ve upped the speed since the last time I played it, and it supposedly feels much more fluid now.
– I was talking about it back before most people even knew what it was. At EVO '10 I was with a small group of people all huddled around Mike Z’s laptop, and we were playing the hell out of the game. I’m just one guy, but if SRK wasn’t covering it I’d still be hyping the shit out of it, regardless of the roster. I’ve said it many times before, but I’ll play a game about stick figures cock-slapping each other if it was fun. Fortunately this game is fun AND looks pretty.
About Memphis having a second game:
– Did it, tried it, brought everything under the sun that isn’t Street Fighter and nothing takes hold. It’s nothing against the games or the players, though. I’ve figured out that there just aren’t enough people for more than one game to really gain ground. I talked to a friend in SoCal earlier today about this, and the reason it just works over there is there’s an insane volume of players playing each game. Vegas though is a weird anomaly: there’s enough people there who play multiple games for them all to thrive. Memphis has a legacy behind it in GG and Tekken, but all the old legends/gods/players/Tenkai/Espada/etc, etc, etc just don’t go out anymore unless it’s to some major or some Area 51-like section of Memphis where only a select few are invited. Certainly not my cracker ass, that’s for sure.
So yeah, short answer – not enough people.
About Memphis not raping:
– Not really my place to talk because I haven’t been active in months, but I still go to 2-3 tournaments every month or two. If I do see someone from Memphis, it’s only the same three or four people going to tournaments, if that. Tournaments are where people get their best matchup practice, not local gatherings. I understand people have lives and personal issues (Something I understand since I can’t come to gatherings anymore due to finances being so tight), but most people just don’t get better playing the same few people exclusively. But I’ll say this: I’ve noticed that the people going to tournaments are the ones getting better the fastest.
About the general lack of drive:
– Honestly, I fault the general negativity that seems to be going around. Everyone’s complaining about something, even me. TVs are too laggy, too much shit-talk, not enough shit-talk, characters are too cheap, playing on the wrong system, ranbat’s not run right/run at all/not my game… there’s always some sort of complaining. It’s goddamn draining, and one of the reasons I stopped participating in Memphis gatherings/threads/etc, if I’m allowed to be candid. But either way, there’s always too much drama and people are up in arms about something. When there isn’t drama, someone makes something up, and too many people have some kind of knee-jerk reaction and get pissy about it, which just affects the general mood.
Having said that, if something’s worth complaining about, then it’s worth getting off your own ass and fixing it yourself. Not enough setups or TVs too laggy? Bring your own. No one playing a game you like? Bring a game you like. Too much shit-talk? Headphones. Not enough shit-talk? Get to talking. Not enough people? Invite a friend. Everyone knows at least one person who doesn’t come to Fight Nights who plays SOMETHING, even casually. Anyway, nearly every problem has a solution that you can provide, but if you really can’t do anything about it (or worse, refuse to) – suck it up and smile. Anyway, constant bitching drains morale. Anything that keeps people from coming out and learning or having a good time needs to be avoided.
i liek tuddles
Jason, I am taking my Blanka to the next level. I’m ready to get serious with him and really become solid. Do you have a few guiding fundamentals or a general pep talk for me?
I think you hit it on the head here with these two points man.
Memphis does not have enough people to hit a real critical mass on anything but SF. I mean yes we have a good turnout most weeks, but how many people are there without fail every week who are also really serious? That aren’t just the Huey’s/Fox crew? To further narrow it down, how many folks are there to seriously play a game like MK9/BB etc?
Which also links into your second point, the one’s that ARE there every week, play SF. They are the same folks who bring setups and games that they want to play. I will never tell anyone NOT to bring a setup/game that they want to play, but tbh the Smash kids showed more initiative at the last one I was at. They brought a big-ass CRT and Smash and sat there and played. Aside from Rukus, I don’t see anyone who wants to play GG bring an actual damn setup for it.
Hell when I was trying to play Tekk I brought a damn setup for it on 360. It’s not optimal on 360 but hey it was there. I will likely be one of those cats that brings KoF13 when it drops, if only for a little while. KoF98 was my first real FG where I took baby steps towards understanding, so I have a soft spot for the KoF series.
I really agree with your last paragraph, everyone that CAN do something, SHOULD. A lot of the regulars have stepped up, and purchased EVO monitors for example, Johnny, Justin, Josh, Dax etc. I’m not saying you need to buy a damn monitor, but how about just getting up off casuals for no reason other than to let someone new play? Or talking strats in a meaningful way at fight night or on this thread? If you aren’t really helping, or you refuse to, then by all means, shut up and smile!
Jesus dude get off my nuts
although
I will agree with this.
Don’t feed the troll
Let’s see, did I miss anything? Hmmm…Memphis out posts Mid TN on a ratio of 50-1. GDBell still posting uhhhh …ummm…worthless shit. Only thing I caught that was worth my while…
…man I would be excited for your visit.
And who else is gonna be a Season’s Beatings?
raises hand
Who’s gonna make more money than anyone in TN at a Season’s Beatings?
raises hand
Gdbell posts are solid gold you guys just don’t know him so you think he’s being all serious and shit. Also kin he’s just fucking with you because your pretty new so it’s kinda like frat hazing.
Full screen walk up throw erry day.
That’s the problem with inside jokes, though: you’re in your little circle laughing your asses off, when everyone else thinks you’re all just acting like idiots. Problem is Memphis has over a thousand inside jokes, and they’re all having these little inbred orgies that produce retarded offspring. Congrats on being proud of them like a good parent should be, but everyone else is shunning you because it’s creepy.
Thing is, Gabe states flat out in his post that he’s trolling…
