Right now arena cameo character models (Daegon Reiko Kenshi on Pit and Kira Li Mei on Battle Arena) are used as placeholders, MK team stated that in interview. In other words there may be someone else there in final build
No it is not, because new MK looks like a huge improvement over its (3D) predecessors, while MvC3 looks like a downgrade from MvC2. I’m more excited about KoF 13 though.
after KOF13 the only fighting game i’m looking for is this new MK…i watched the 10.36min video and i was really impressed by the work they did with this game…smooth and…gory!!
This game is looking awesome thus far, im just really tentative on how smooth the actual will be on release. I cant that stand that slow, mudded down shit feel that MK has had through the 3D games.
One thing the 3d MKs did right was bring out the personality of the characters. And really separated the “so called” copy cat ninjas (especially in terms of appearance).
Me being one of the few people IN THE WORLD who, still to this day, likes MKA: I give thanks to Boon and his team giving the 3D MKs a shot and now presenting us with something amazing that is MKIX.
While i’ll give them credit for totally unique character design with MKA…i mean i pulled it out for nostalgia and dear god does it feel bad. I mean the only thing in the game that feels ok other than appearances is that the visual part of the kreate a kharacter is a lot better than i thought, but dear god is the gameplay ugh. I will give points for finally incorporating a stand up attack.
They’ve had em since MK4, unless you’re just talking about the camera focusing on one character at a time. Hell, Deception had unique in-between round kip-up/stand up animations for every character.
Damn man Im getting really hyped now lol, Im actually looking forward to this a bit more then i was SSF4 (Im not really a SF4 fan) and I hope they deliver…so far so good.
If this game really does get serious play this might be the first time there’s a number of equally viable play options. 1v1, 1v1 tag mode, 2v2 tag mode, etc. It stands to reason that the 1v1 would be the “true” way to play but I can see some conflict arising over the issue, especially since tag mode will have a very different meta.
So with all the things that we have seen in the past days , what exactly would you guys want to be altered / tweaked ?
I personally don’t want too many characters. Perhaps 26 is a bit too much and it will be more difficult to balance them all. Though I guess I should mention that Boon said he has some very ‘aggressive’ plans for online (new characters, new backgrounds, new fatalities) … So balance paches ? Is it a longshot?
Secondly I would like it if the super bar doesn’t get filled up only by getting yourself hit and doing special moves. Agressive gameplay SHOULD be encouraged , it’s more flashy this way and less boring to watch.
X Ray moves should also do less damage if you can combo afterwards (ala Kung Lao) - Right now they remind me of SF4 ultras .
