HUGE step forward for the community. I never thought I’d see the day that an import only game gets featured in EVO before it even gets featured at SBO. Hopefully it attracts more players over there and overseas. I for one am hoping that the EVO spotlight would make players here in the Philippines curious about Melty. Been playing since 2006 and we have such a small community over here (<20 ppl) since everybody else is playing SF4 or Tekken. Not having an arcade release really hurts the scene over here.
Well, EVO is open to all. The better question is if someone from Philippines can survive in Vegas and back.

I do sort of a variation of that combo in the corner. Here’s what I’m doing.
2a/5b 5c 6c 2c 214c whiff 5a then either…
- 2c 6c 5bb 8 air combo
- 2c 6c 623b/c
When I did this combo with the ending with the air throw, I got up to about 6.7k with a j./iad c as the first ht, got up to about 6.1k with the dp enders + oki with a j./iad c as the first hit.
I am hoping I can go to final round. I may can’t make it. Sad even though I live 20 mins from the darn event.

This game better make some name now.
If the fanbase does the same thing as it did to BlazBlue then we may be able to play it in EU (and US) too.

I can’t stand it when a good/interesting game flies by, just beyond reach.

IIRC it’s possible to get whiff 5A, BE6C xx 22A, air combo.
If I can find one (a lot of shops abolished them) then I’ll have to get my hands on a Melty Blood. Importing will be quite tricky (especially without CC) and costly. SM + MB = +/- 100 which is simply too much for one game I want to try.

Casuals; Tanner and me been drilling a few things. He’s switched from C-VSion to H, and I gotta admit its bad for me. I felt the pressure today, lol. Also I was practicing the midscreen akiha bnb and got down more comfortable with the TK flame variation but had a few times where I swear i buffered it correctly and nothing comes out. Also for some reason I can’t ever get it to connect on Kouma. Just noticed that when I used him as a training dummy.

Characters like Kouma, Ciel, Roa, Aoko, and Satsuki (probably more, can’t remember right now) require you to delay the 5B after the 2C in order to get the TK BE236B to connect properly. Their hitboxes are smaller, they weigh less, and/or they’re just overall assholes.
Frank, does that mean I’m doing the 5B as 5**B, or do you mean just simply doing it late after the 2C? Thanks.

Watching me miss every combo possible at the beginning of that video you posted makes me cringe lol.
I fucked up my TK more than I would like as well; even though I had it down last weekend. I guess I just need more practice with the buffer.
I’m going to be giving a brief presentation on Melty for a student run fighting game class at my college. Problem is, I just picked up the game a week ago and am total nub tier. What should I put in my presentation so I sound smart and get all the bitches?
read the Melty guide for SF players, and use a lot of that for explanations.
