I would really be interested in hearing more about the differences between the Crown and the Myoungshin.

I think, due to the rubber collar being there adds a lot of resistance to the Myoungshin. I have both and they do feel very different. The Crown reminds me of a JLF with the circle gate and ls-33 spring mod. The fantas with rubber collar are stiffer, but require a lot more work to get into non custom sticks.

It would be nice to know if the problem with the cracked bat handles has been resolved…

I don’t think any other style bat handle on the market would be easily adaptable to these joysticks. As it is, the Sanwa bat handles have to use an adapter to fit on JLF shafts. You’d probably have to jury-rig something (Artist tape? Tennis or bike handle grip tape?) to get the bat handles to fit Seimitsu LS-series or the Hori Hayabusa.

If it were just ONE cracked handle, I’d say bad luck of the draw BUT you should still get a replacement which looking at the pictures looks like a total shaft+bat handle replacement and not just the handle itself. Two broken bat handles might discourage other people (like me!) from getting the joystick unless the problem is sorted out…

The cracking on mine is really not so severe, it isn’t actually on the outer layer of the battop but is visible because of the transparency. I think it may have been caused when I switched it into a different case - I might have used more force than necessary to get the e-clip back on (fuck those things). That’s when I first noticed it at least.
Just a matter of getting used to the stick itself, really. Not riding the gate for certain things in 2d games might feel kinda odd at first but it’s smooth sailing when you’re used to it. Frankly I don’t think I’ll use jpn sticks again
I think when I get some money in my account, I’ll go ahead and get one of these…
(Gee, which color? Red again!)
I’ve got enough empty cases between Hori and Mad Catz to re-equip with alternate control levers after I removed the JLF’s.
I just can’t stand the main joystick (JLF) every manufacturer seems to put in their cases!
I’m a Seimitsu joystick fan and so far I’m liking what I hear about the new Crown joystick.
Too bad you have to get that adapter harness but honestly it’s better to just bite your tongue and buy the darn thing because it’ll be harder to mod an existing harness on your own!
Yes I definitly agree TRiX, the crown has less tension than the Fanta. It is more of a challenge on the P1 side in regards to finding down, forward. Overall a great stick however. Still trying to decide which one to train with though.
just change the microswitches every two yrs or so.
Also I opened up a k-stick that I had used for a while and there was a bit of loose rubber debris in the housing. I guess you could clean that out as well.
I’m resurrecting this question, as I have never saw this answered, but surely there’s an interchangeable dustwasher for this, because if so, once I buy one, I’d like to get a custom dustwasher from Art.
Yeah, I actually found the diameter of the shaft hole, but I don’t quite remember the diameter of the holes for Sanwa/Seimitsu dustwasher holes. AkihabaraShop didn’t have them shown on the schematics.
Yeah, if you can find a washer made for one of the JLF models that doesn’t have a shaft cover, just eyeballing it, it looks pretty damn close to the upper portion of the crown shaft.
for those who have installed Crown or Fanta Sticks in fightstick V.S
Do you have to cut some plastic or bend the microswitches or do other modifications to the case itself?
Looking to purchase one of these for my SCV TE, will it fit? Some people have said they got it in, some said they couldn’t, what should I do? If I get it in just about, will it affect the stick performance?
As far as these fitting into a Mad Catz TE ot TE+S it’s a tight fit. I’ve got two of these bad boys, one in a TE+S and one in a Mad Catz TE: SCV Soul Edition.
In order to get these to fit correctly you have to bend the micro-switches, otherwise the stick will not fit correctly. Also make sure that you do all your mods prior to installing a Crown, because it’s kinda a bitch to get it in. Don’t get me wrong you could mod your stick in the future but again it’s just a pain to get these to fit in the case. But they do fit
In the future I plan on getting a custom case made so the Crown has more leg room!
