New Korean Lever Offers New Possibilities for Mad Catz FightSticks

I’m planning to mount this on my Hori fighting edge. Will it fit perfectly? Do I need some serious modding with it? Do I need to buy some other stuffs for installation?

My joystick is finally starting to get broken in. Movement is starting to improve daily. I’m still not sure if I like it more than original crown though.

If you don’t, I’ll buy it off you provided it’s not the white one

i got this the other day for my TE round 2 stick for playing sf4ae and tt2 and wanted to know if its possible to add a gate as i noticed it has not got one and im finding sagats tiger shots only come out 60% of the time (im a new player so not got loads of exp but before i did this mod i could do it about 99% of the time) im also having problems doing adons jaguar kick from player 2 side since moving to this stick so is a gate something that can be added? or will i just have to get used to it or should I switch back if this is not good for newbies?

Just need to get used to it, that’s all. I said on this page that it has a learning curve. That’s the learning curve.

It’d take a lot of modding to fit a gate, but you don’t need one anyway once you’re used to the stick.

ok cool thx for the advice ill just stick with it as i like the feel of it better than the one that came with my TE stick

Yeah, honestly, with you being new, you’re at an advantage to try new control schemes to find what’s right for you. You don’t have to unlearn too many tendencies. After you’ve been on certain parts for so long, you have to get used to the change.

That’s why some old school players in America can only use American parts still. It’s easier for you to transfer to Japanese, Korean, Hitboxes, whatever, because you don’t know much yet.

Even in my case, I was playing on Seimitsu for over a year when I started with Korean parts, so I had to unlearn gate riding and just instinctually find my spots. Once you do, you’re fine.

Damn, I can’t make the 303a fit in my SCV case. Must have to put it in the right TE

Handsaw!

Some people have posted that they’ve had luck with the TTT2/SCV TE Mad Catz sticks. Just a really tight fit. Personally I would dremel the inside out a bit.
You mean you prefer the throw of the japanese standard joystick hole to the standard korean black knob thing?
Does the red crown 303a match either the sanwa dark red or vermillion buttons? Pics?

It matches the Vermillion pretty well. Vermillion is what comes stock for the B button on 360 sticks right? If not, its whatever red that is.

I thought the ones that come default on sticks were dark red. I was hoping vermillion was a little more orange and closer to the red crown.

Hmm the bat top cracked. Does anyone know if the 303a bat top can be replaced (without getting a new 303a)?

Like i said, whichever comes on the sticks by default, thats what those are. If thats dark red then those match pretty close.
Mine has also cracked so this will be good to know.
It would be nice to know if the problem with the cracked bat handles has been resolved…

I don’t think any other style bat handle on the market would be easily adaptable to these joysticks. As it is, the Sanwa bat handles have to use an adapter to fit on JLF shafts. You’d probably have to jury-rig something (Artist tape? Tennis or bike handle grip tape?) to get the bat handles to fit Seimitsu LS-series or the Hori Hayabusa.

If it were just ONE cracked handle, I’d say bad luck of the draw BUT you should still get a replacement which looking at the pictures looks like a total shaft+bat handle replacement and not just the handle itself. Two broken bat handles might discourage other people (like me!) from getting the joystick unless the problem is sorted out…
I test fit a myungshin Fanta lever in the crown and it looked like it would work if you took the little collar on the bottom part from the crown and put it on the fanta. Didn’t actually try to use it that way but seemed like it would work.
