For those of you who haven’t been to Sonic Hurricane lately, about a month ago i started this notebook thing. It’s basically random shit that i come up with on a weekly basis, one or two clips at a time. The reason i’m mentioning it here is that it’s sort of tied to SRK in a weird way. Basically SRK premium members get access to entries two weeks in advance. There’s always two new titles with screenshots under “Pending Entries” that are already available to SRK premium members. Read the “General Guidelines” bit for more detailed info.
I just wanted to provide another SRK premium perk to help out in my own way. So if any of you are interested in that sort of thing and were thinking about paying a few bucks to support this bandwidth-vacuum of a forum, now you have another reason to get on board. I’ve got about two months worth of clips done and i’m always working on more.
Oh, the Hibiki close s.HP is pretty useful actually. It has super fast 3 frame startup and being able to cancel it just makes it that much better. I totally forgot Hibiki had this trick until I just read this thread. Thanks! It really sucks that close s.LP is the only attack you can link this move after though.
Yes, I was wondering how this works too. Now I can do this against jumping JDers, then cancel into the counter as they think they have a free shot at me in the air.
I already said that it was gonna be updated weekly, so i feel it’s kinda redundant to bump this thread every time i release a new one. But then again, it’s the only way to get the word out. So feel free to ignore this thread once you know the deal and check the site once in a while to catch up on recent updates. This week’s feature is an unexpected Haohmaru AC juggle. It surprised me anyway.
Hey Maj, I don’t know if you explained this already, but the sai-rec preview video on your site… he does the knife special that knocks-down(!?) so he can juggle with a super. Do you have any idea what’s going on? Exactly what’s the deal with the Yamazaki OTG saa!! thing too. Is it something I can use in the middle of a match? Thanks.
Explained the knockdown thing here and he doesn’t do an OTG in the preview video. He just uses the dirt to juggle off a lvl2 cancel by doing it really late. Canceling dirt into whip thing gives you a bonus juggle because of lvl2 cancel glitch. Timing is pretty tough but if you’re willing to learn it, it’s definately usable every time you land a lvl2 super.
For the record, Yamazaki is one of maybe two characters that can OTG, explained here towards the middle of page 2. It’s doable during a match but you actually lose damage by doing it so it’s kinda pointless, except maybe for style.
A bunch of weird throw glitch combos in this update. Got over 20 hits with Guile without CC and got all three supers in one combo. I’m pretty happy with this batch.
You need a website and a hosting plan. Bandwidth costs money, but it’s pretty cheap these days.
If your video has new stuff in it, i’ll host it for a while. If it’s all old stuff, then i’m not really interested. So you’ll have to find a way to send me the video so i can take a look. Either through IRC or through AIM. Just let me know which you prefer. I’ve sent you an email to lucasnina303@hotmail.com so just reply to that.
Another notebook update with the explanation for rc low fierce, which you guys have probably all seen already. However, the clip for it is the fourth one in the series and the first three were never released. They are available now at the bottom of the page listed under “unsorted experiments” without explanations because it’s pretty obvious what’s going on.
i noticed that in your 3rd video clip of the final grade remix study, after kyosuke is hit by Iori’s stun fireball super, kyosuke freezes slightly above the ground, yet somehow Iori manages to get a full ground combo in, as if kyosuke was on the ground…explanations? some weird trajectory thing again?
oops my bad, now i understand, the 3rd video is meant to explain the 3rd paragraph in your article.
artoflife: Yeah, you can get Kyosuke to get stuck much higher, and still be able to do j.HP, s.HP xx Rekkas, but if he’s any higher than the height in the clip, the s.LP will whiff under him. I think the link timing in that state is a bit tighter. Kyosuke falls out if you try to do more difficult links, like s.LP, s.LP, c.HP xx Rekkas.
Notebook updated with some elaboration on projectile cancels, including two random test clips with lvl2 cancels and one kinda cool C-Ryo combo.
Other than that, i’m trying to do something to get the SRK CvS2 strat forums a bit more active, but it’s going hella slow. Click to see.
Guess i should just give up entirely and be happy with whatever little progress gets made over the next year, cuz it doesn’t look like a timetable of weeks is going to do anything other than get me annoyed. Or maybe people are just sandbagging cuz of evo coming up.
I’ll happily tell anyone EXACTLY how to beat any of the characters I use. Gimmicks, tricks, etc…? Anybody wants to know, I’ll reply ASAP as well. It’s skill, composure under pressure, and mindgames that win SF competitions. Not being an insecure douchbag that keeps everything to himself all the time.
Don’t fret it if nobody’s doing anything right now. People are lazy that’s all. It would really be cool to see some more known players post on here every once in a while though. Choi or a Japanese player even. I think mad people would want to follow in their examples.
*definately make sure there’s a mod though. I remember what jokes threads like “Justin Wong/Duc Do Teach MvC2” turned out to be. Stupid ass people wouldn’t shut the fuck up, stop asking the same questions over and over, or think they’re better than Justin/Duc themselves and start spamming the threads full of bad info.
Jinjifra: Just take a few minutes to test it out. Try to do it in arcade mode so that only a few of the hits connect at first, and then the rest juggle. Try it against someone’s extended limb or as the opponent is jumping. You can even give yourself infinite meter through the Extra Options to make it a little easier.
kcxj: Yea, i’m hoping it’ll pick up gradually and more people will start adding info. As for people like Choi, they show up once in a while and add a few words, but usually they don’t last too long. Anyone that gets good does it through their own efforts. Winning tournaments doesn’t come with any contractual obligations to elevate scrubs. It’s pretty amazing Buk has stuck around this long, but then again, he is the people’s champ.
