New indie fighter: 稲歩町ダイナマイトボム [? Dynamite Bomb]

Looks pretty great so far! 4 playable characters for free. You may need your system locale set to Japanese to play.

Looks good, but is there no official site?

I bugged the devs to create an official site… but for now, it’s mainly Twitter https://twitter.com/gietudou

He said 8+1 characters, maybe next spring release (as a commercial game)

Since there seems to be 2 new characters in the photos, I think he is working on the game.

The game exits immediately when I click the exe file. Weird, because I’ve never had this problem with 2D Fighter Maker games before.

Anyone else running into this problem?

What OS are you running? I had a similar problem (W7), but changed the Unicode language settings to Japanese and I ran the game just fine (just make sure to decompress the game again when in Japanese system or you will get garbled filenames).

Tried the game for a bit. Spritework is very amateurish, with clunky animation, backgrounds and art quality. Sorta looks like a Visco game. Physics feel very strange… it needs some tuning in that department at least before they make a final version.

On the plus side, characters have lots of moves. They made a lot of effort on that. If they fix the physics it may be an interesting game.

Yep, can’t get it to run. Not with Japanese display language, not with applocale, not with goofy methods of extracting that were supposed to display Japanese text correctly, nothing. I give up.

In Seven, change your Language setting for non-Unicode programs (Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options) to Japanese. Restart, unzip, play.

Well the game has potential, the designs are definitely there and the mechanics could be interesting, but boy does it feel not great. Also, I can’t for the life of me figure out any of the actions listed on the start menu. It says things like →D+A (→→), but no combination of buttons does a dash. I don’t know if there’s something I’m not getting, but nothing happens.

“Inefu-machi”? shrug

Excellent! i will try this today at night, thank you.

A few of the characters light attacks have way too much hitstun. I’m pretty sure the main character and the robot guy at least have infinties doing dashing stand/crouching light kicks over and over. (St/Cr for the MC and Robot guy respectively.) Maybe it doesn’t go on forever, since im bad at doing dashing links, but it sure seems like it can.

An update on how this game is doing, another 4 characters have been created and demoed. Please be excite.

GOD DAMN TIGER MASK WRESTLING FISHERMAN I WILL DRAG YOU TO THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN.

Also coming this month, the team is finding more testers and will produce combo videos, so the mechanics are probably pretty close to being polished up. Should be interesting.

Why are the grapplers always the best characters?

Dat Tiger Fisherman is manly as fuck

Cowgirl Gunslinger is flashy as fuck and all so awesome!

Trying to get the joystick to work but to no avail. It’s not reading the directions at all.

As an alternative, you can always try the program JoyToKey: it lets you set your stick inputs to act as keyboard keys, so then you can configure your in-game controls to those letters.

Like most poverty games, you need to set your stick inputs to Left Stick or LS instead of D-Pad. It doesn’t read digital directions.

I only hear about this game because everyone is going apeshit over cowgirl’s huge tits bouncing when staying neutral, but they don’t mention her choppy, uninspired “acrobat dual-pistol” animations and a super that’s obviously a poor-man’s MvC3 Chris dp+ABC.
This character alone will generate $50,000 if a kickstarter ever gets posted up, courtesy of scrubs everywhere that allow eye-candy to effect all of their financial decisions.

But yes, the music is nice. That’s probably where most of the money went since it obviously wasn’t invested in the attacking animations, the backgrounds, or the creativity to make it not look like every other Guilty Gear-format fighter out there with an air dash and gatling-to-air combo system. Some of those animations look really familiar frame-by-frame, too.

Once it gets “released”, it’ll be in the same league as Skullgirls, Arcana Heart, Aquapazza, Chaos Code, Yataragasu, Xuan Dou Zhi Wang, Fighting Climax, Fate/stay night and Vanguard Princess: the league of trying to be like the million other poor-man PC fighters that get posted up on the front page of SRK, gets scrubs saying “screw Crapcom; this’ll be amazing”, everyone will download it online, and then everyone will stop talking about it in two months once they get over the female eye-candy.

When Japan stops supporting mediocrity, I’ll start supporting their games. And no, not Street Fighter x Tekken II.

I don’t think what WINBACK said deserved a flagging. Maybe a “Disagree”, but nothing he said was trollish - incendiary, maybe. But this is SRK, after all. We can dish it out and take it, can’t we?

Someone doesn’t know how WINBACK operates.
