If my main issue is that the native stick is too short what would be the ideal solution to fix that? Can I put a bat top equivalent piece on to extend the length or do I need to replace the entire gate (and if so what would be the best)?
Seems that there are a lot of people still wanting/needing the template for the Hori FS VX/V3.
What’s a good generic file-hosting site to use for these things? I have blklighting21’s old template, but I don’t really want to be posting up a direct link to my OneDrive location on the forum here.
wow, so crazy that this thread has been resurrected, love all the progress and information that’s been added over the years. i’ve since ditched my old xbox and i’m on the playstation bandwagon now. looking to replace the pcb in my old VX with the ps3/pc zero delay from focusattack. also i never did anything cosmetic to the box so it will be fun to spruce it up.
@FreedomGundam - really appreciate that you’re taking the time to upload the old template, it’s my own fault i didn’t save it back then. i will try to assist with uploading to different mirrors if possible once you post
That’s the plan anyway. I don’t have a PS4 stick and the only other arcade stick I have is an HRAP3 which is really bulky compared to how compact and portable the VX is. I was gonna mod the VX with a Brooke and give her a facelift.
As you can see the art is peeling, and what isn’t shown is that the USB cord is completely wrecked. Unfortunately the PSD I had for the template and the original artwork I made are on a desktop computer that I have no ease of access to get to right now haha. This is why I need the PSD so I can just make a new art for it when I start the restoration process
Thanks. The Hori FSVX was one of my favorite retail sticks a few of years back; it was my main stick when I participated at EVO2013. Plus going back a bit, I’m probably the modder who has put the most mods into my FSVX; so even though I’ve since sold the stick a couple of years ago, it still holds a special place in my heart.
Anyways, I just uploaded blklighting21’s old FSVX/V3 template here.
I don’t take ownership or credit for anything in that file; maybe save for taking credit of being “that guy” who hoards old files.
Been following and lurking this thread on and off for years and the vast majority of people are just talking about their modding projects, not complaining. “You all realize this is a budget stick” just seems super condescending. I think we all know how much we paid for these and what we were getting into.
You be surprised with some people. If you do not spell it out for them they will never get it.
Anyways Budget sticks are often harder to mod than the premium sticks, and if you aren’t careful you drop more money modding a budget stick than you would working on a premium one.
Condescending? That is your problem not mine. You decide to get mad with a almost month old message and got in my face not the other way around.
question to @FreedomGundam / @Killha or anybody else that may know. i cracked open my VX last night and to my surprise i found a JLF-TM-8T inside…(i gave the stick to my nephew maybe 3 years ago and he wasn’t using it anymore so he gave it back to me). now i don’t know what i was thinking when i bought this thing but anyways i’m buying a JLF with an actual pcb to replace the old one.
question i have is, do any of you know what size screws will fit through the JLF housing into the case mounting post holes? don’t mind doing trial and error but if you guys have any insight it doesn’t hurt to ask. going for the cleaner/proper method #1 that @FreedomGundam mentioned in a post above, pic for reference:
