Does anyone have the template for this thing? I’ve scoured the thread and most of the internet for it and every link I’ve found is dead. Thanks!
@d3v might still have a local copy
Nope.
I still have blklightning21’s old PSD.
I’ll upload it somewhere for the sake of this thread; mainly because I loved the Hori FSVX/V3 casing so much.
[s]I modified a Qanba Q4 template, using a V3 template on the Google Image cache in the background. Hopefully this works!
BTW: I ordered one used V3 to tinker around. The template has 2 extra buttons. I’m planning to make the holes with a drill hole.
Scratch that. I uploaded a new one, using a modified Hori RAP V3 template as a base. Here’s the new link: http://www.4shared.com/download/QOjUCmbce/Hori_V3_Maybe__1.psd?lgfp=1000
The joystick didn’t quite aligned, so I separated the button and the stick layer, and included a layer that has both just in case.
Can I use the Sanwa MS-0-2P micro-switches to replace the stock switches?
Its what I did.
My first post here. Today I successfully installed OBSF’s in my V3, and I was wondering if it were possible to install a Hori Hayabusa instead of a JLF. It supposedly is made to fit all sticks that fit a JLF, but it is pretty wide from what I’ve read, so I’m worried it might be too much of a stretch.
Thanks
Where can I get a plexi for this stick?
Not sure. I don’t own the casing anymore, but looking at pictures, it looks like it might be pretty tight.
I’m almost 100% sure you won’t be able to point the 5-pin harness towards the buttons, though.
The stick itself should mount easily the wrong way (using the mounting plate), but I’m not sure on aligning holes for mounting it the correct way (no mounting plate, and recessed holes on the stick body).
Keep in mind that, while the Hayabusa fits pretty much wherever a JLF will fit, note that even a JLF takes a bit of modding to fit inside a Hori FSVX/V3 casing (ie, even a standard JLF is NOT a drop-in replacement).
Probably nowhere.
blklightning21 used to make the, but he’s been MIA for like 2 years.
Fellow member “B-boy Tekken” might be able to make one since he cuts metal panels, but I don’t think he has the Hori FXVX/V3 template on-hand.
I personally hand-cut my own plexis, so yeah.
Where can I get a plexi to cut down? Is it thin enough to cut with an X-Acto knife?
You should be able to find plexi at your local hardware stores (Home Depot, etc), but they probably sell them in MUCH larger sheets.
You’ll want something about 1/16" (1.6mm) in thickness; you’ll definitely be able to score and snap off the basic rectangular shape out with a knife, but you’ll need drill/dremel/holesaw/forstner-bit getting the joystick and button holes cut out.
Mask the areas where you will be drilling and go sloooooooooooow.
You know what? I think I’ll leave it stock and let my friend see the difference in quality between parts.
When something goes wrong, I’ll just mod it.
Hi I’m thinking about buying my first arcade stick. I’m playing on pc so which one should i get the V3 or VX, i read both have some issue on pc so i’m not sure…
V3
Hello. I’m working on offering a replacement panel and matching Lexan. But it looks like a Lot of work to dremel out all this plastic. Is there any interest in my work for this case? Let me hear yeah if your out there. Thanks.
Alternatively, you can offer just the panel+plexi, but without any joystick mounts so that the buyer could use the existing mounts in the plastic casing the way they want. Admittedly, this would mostly be to get custom button layouts.
This obviously limits their flexibility in putting in all/any joystick models, but it also ends up being less work overall since they wouldn’t have to cut/dremel out the existing plastic.
That’s what I ended up getting done by blklightning21 a couple of years back.
Spoiler
The general idea would be like this. Ignore the misaligned joystick hole; this was a mistake and he got me a properly-aligned panel later on.

I could make an adapter Plate.
