NEW Hori Fighting Stick VX (360) & V3 (PS3) Thread

If I buy the **Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK **and remove the mounting plate, will this still fit fine?

jdm14 already covered how to mount the JLF in the VX/V3. So scroll up to see how to mount the JLF, and yes you need to remove the mount plate.
Also the Qanba shaft and dustcover will fit a JLF ether way. Shaft cover does exactly 2 things, offer a decorative cover for the joystick shaft and to keep sweat, dirt and stuff off the metal of the joystick shaft. In the arcades the shaft also makes a moving surface to prevent people from stealing the ball top, but for a home stick that isn’t a issue.

No I have no plans for new art, as this is a Budget mod.

Soon as I find my camera, these pics are taken with my Cellphone

I used a toodles Chimp board. The Chimp handles the PS3 and PC side of the stick and it auto detects if the stick is plugged into a a Xbox 360 or not.

Thanks DarkSakul, your stick is turning out nicely. I’ve learned a lot, I think I can approach this with confidence now. I’ll be sure to post pictures once I do finally get around to this project. Thanks guys :3
Edit: My VX arrived today! :DSo excited for my first stick.

Edit: Okay, I’m very pleased with the stick so far. The buttons are stiff compared to what I’ve played, and I’ll end up replacing those very soon. I am very happy with the stick though. I’ll wait to replace that until later, but for cosmetic reasons, what size is the default balltop? I’d like to replace it with a 35mm Seimitsu Bubble Top, Blue. Thanks in advance:D

Dual Mod for a client + Button Swap. Stick left Stock at clients request. [I really like it!!!]
He won the stick in raffle… I got to mod it… win/win!

ChimpSMD is under the VX PCB - Next time i’ll consider removing the screw terminals for a better fit, but there is the big resistor on the bottom of the VX PCB to consider.

You did :3
I just wanted a closer picks of the buttons. From the side, if possible

just bought my HRAP VX SA  so happy. I had the old Tekken 6 one… anyone know what the difference is? Is the VX SA a better stick?
Also, anyone know where i can get a converter to play on xbox and PS3? any help appreciated.
Back to lurking now…
Thanks!

Converters I heard can cause input lag, I can’t gel you find one, sadly. If get one if I wasn’t able to dual mod.

Dat VX-SA is too high end for this thread sir… Your best bet though for Dual console support is to Dual Mod the stick instead of Converter. Should have no issues with lag that way.

where would i find info on dual modding the stick? Is there a thread? I’ll start searching in the meantime.

What do you mean that the VX-SA is too high end? does that mean i can’t mod it like you guys? I really want to start modding. Already started on the artwork, and ordered new buttons…

He is saying that this Thread is about HORI Fighting Stick V3/VX.
You are asking about the HORI Real Arcade Pro. V3/VX SA, which is different Arcade Stick totally.

V3 is in the mail. Exciting!

There’s the easy way to mod with a kitty board…
Then there’s this way…
