ok, that makes sense. i’ve seen a diagram where you connect the 5v and the 3.5 volt and ground both pcbs together with a 360 and a psx pcb.
I just wanted to confirm. Thanks
I don’t mean to post another question so quickly after my first one so I apologize in advance.
Does anybody happen to know where the VCC or what it is labeled on the Fighting Stick V3 PS3 PCB?
If nobody knows the answer, do I need to use a multimeter? If, so can someone explain to me how to use a multimeter or point me in the right direction?
Thanks
USB red wire.
Thanks
i only need to replace the Buttons and the joystick with sanwa is it hard or easy just like the madcatz TE stick and where can i find some flashy ball and dust cover for the stick? are the holes 30mm?
It’s harder, since you might have to scrape/dremel a thin layer for the joystick to fit. Also replacing the buttons requires soldering.
The process of replacing buttons on the V3/VX stick isnt really ‘hard’ at all. Its not as straight forward as the madcatz due to the fact that the TE stick is pre wired with disconnect terminals for the buttons and has more space to accommodate a sanwa stick without any modification.
The buttons are 30mm in size.
I have a V3/VX overview video as well as a modding tutorial vid coming to youtube by tomorrow. I modded mine slightly different than what ive seen online.
While I love my FSV3, I got another FSVX and in the process of shortening the shaft of the LS-56 I have going in it. For my FSV3, I had to take so much off the bottom plate where there was just a bubble at the bottom of the plate and even then, you can sorta feel the stick just slightly touching the plate.
I cant wait till i get my FSV3 for myself so i can fix the layout. They were 75% correct with that one
Heres the videos of the V3 and VX as promised. Sorry it took so long, I guess my iphone’s speaker doesn’t work in video recording mode for some reason. I also have a another video explaining how to replace the lever (stick) and what I did for my mod. Nothing special, just soldered everything directly to the reverse side of the pcb for the stick and buttons to prevent cutting the ribbons.
Heres my short review video of the sticks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWqafaR53M4
Replacing the buttons on the V3/VX here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hF_JJ_mdSBE
Full video of me desoldering the board that holds the buttons on for those who may not be experienced with soldering and want an general idea of what this process looks like. Video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Viczg7evKA8
I’ll post the final video in this thread once I upload it. Should be another day or 2.
one question:
Does Seimitsu LS-40, LS-56 and LS-58 fits well in FS V3/VX case, without needing to make a hole in bottom plate?
This [post’][url=http://forums.shoryuken.com/t/new-hori-fighting-stick-vx-360-v3-ps3-thread/79072/82]post]('NEW Hori Fighting Stick VX (360) & V3 (PS3) Thread) should be able to answer your question at least regarding the LS-56/58.
Thanks. So I’m going to buy LS-40, I think.
According to the Slagcoin the “plate to base” height of the LS-40 is higher than the LS-56 so you might need to cut a hole into the VX/V3. It might just fit without the need of a hole if you remove the mounting plate and just mount it right underneath the panel (which you might have to do since the shaft of the LS-40 is short).
I picked up the VX because my second MCZ FightPad failed on me. I’m liking the stick so far because it’s not too bulky to carry around.
I need some help guys im getting the Fighting Stick EX 2 because of my budget but i plan to replace the buttons and joystick with top grade hori parts. Pretty much the parts that you will find on the 150$arcade stick parts. I plan to mod my stick over time because again of my budget and i have been playing streetfighter since hd remix thats when i really got in to it big. Im not really technical so could anybody tell me what parts i would need please. like what size buttons and type of joystick. i plan to keep with the square gate stick if that helps. or should i get a different type of stick so it will be more easy to mod it?
respond back or just hit my up at Srksolrac@ymail.com much appreciated guys
If you’re patient, I would recommend the FSVX instead of the EX2 simply because it requires less work put into it. I believe the EX2/FS3 line requires the the button inserts onthe metal plate to be shaved off. They are two tabs blocking standard 30mm arcade buttons from fitting and the mounting area for the stick lever has to be mounted differently(mounting holes need to enlargened and mounted without mounting plate.
Anyway, there should be a “modding the hori ex2 fightstick” thread within the first 3 pages of the tech section and the parts people usually get are Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons and Sanwa JLF stick lever because they’re now arcade standard parts.
that is correct
an ex2 is a hell of a lot work to get it to standard.
Also JLF’s are drop ins when it comes to the FSVX with just a bit of shaving off hte bottom plate
whats the * *FSVX ? send me a link if you dont mind please

Nvm on that last post you mean the Hory Fight Stick VX
i read that the VX is better built but does that mean better buttons or just more easy to mod?
if so do i still need the 30mm buttons?
