same set up, same info, just switch out Ryu with like magneto and doom or ragna or something. that way it’ll look different enough if people have seen the first one so they’ll say “oh hey… that one’s different”.

honestly that sounds really sweet, tom. props to getting that going. I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while. I wonder if we could make it a regional thing? Like people who go to GU could participate in the system and people who only had tuesday nights free and played at PWA could be in the same rankings. that way, the pool of players could be larger and as the rankings spread out, the down time at tourneys (where basically everybody goes) could be used for people that are of similar rank but never at the same venue. Nobody could whine about inflated rankings either because it’s already protected against in the system and self correcting (say the same three people keep playing each other, eventually none of them are within a rank of each other so they can’t play anymore and they’ll have to fight new people).

Kraig! we could definitely make it a regional thing! I had a brief thought about that when I was setting everything up. I figure for PWA nights when I’m there, I could record results / scores and update the site if you guys wanted to take part. And here’s what I thought about, when I’m not there, you guys could record results and just send them to me for me to update the site.
I’ll also change the name to be something more general than “Souper Bowl” etc etc. Maybe New England? or something. either way, if there are people to report results to me, we could definitely have this be a regional thing and something for new players to level up to.

I’m down to support, it’s a great idea and without you taking the steps to make it happen, may have stayed that way. Is SSF4 the trial run with hopes of branching off into other games?
definitely. I really think this could be a good tool to get and keep new players and, more importantly, as a common thread to get this region more community minded. In order to make sure that it is organized we would probably need to have specific people as being able to report to you, tom, for the updating of the records. That way we can ensure data integrity and streamline the process.

Lawrence, I’m just doing this for SSFIV and I’m not sure if I’d personally do it for any other games but I would encourage others to do run dan battles for their own games!
I’m up in the air if I can make it on Tuesday, but I sort of want to start the danisen league at the SB-wednesday anyways to make sure I have the process all sorted out anyhow.

Cool, figured as much given its popularity. Perhaps if KOF13 drops or MK takes off it’ll be worth going forward and trying this out for those maybe even tag 2. I’ll be watching and learning in the meantime.:rock:
What about AE? Given that it’s supposedly a different game with all of the changes and characters will the rankings be reset in order to incorporate AE when it arrives?
Kraig, was watching that stuff you mentioned on Guy’s “unblockable” J. MK…not that great unfortunately. Late tatsu for all shoto’s (whom I would want it for the most, especially ken) get’s them out, or late dp. Sagat to my understanding given the lack of horizontal range on his DP doesn’t even have to wait that long and can wake up dp the attempt leading to juggle Ultra. Sigh.

well, just another thing to add to the tool box. you get enough safe jumps to bait those dps and i’m sure you’ll be able to land it. even total retards learn a little bit.
there won’t be a PWA fight night this coming tuesday, the 26th, Tom because PWA wanted us to be bi-weekly to start. So looks like we’ll be hitting up tim’s place in the meantime and the league can get ironed out at Souper Bowl like you would like.
