I am not sure if anyone else is coming or bringing a friend. Just keep in mind I am not sure of the size of the room since I was only told it holds 8 people no problem. I am assuming (again) that it could hold up to 16 semi-comfortably so that’s the max number I would want to be in the room at any given time.
I would think that regardless we would have 8-10 people solid throughout the weekend. We can order out or go out for food if you guys want, but its really every man for himself. Bring food and your own booze or if you need to crash bring your own stuff.
Once we have a solid total then we can lock down setups and that will be it. Slightly less than a month away gents so I hope you guys are as excited about it as I am!
Lastly for those who may not have read or have questions regarding game selection: We will be playing other things other than Marvel (it is the FOCUS though).
I am hoping to have Arcana Heart 3 by this date (thanks Tim for letting me know its region free) and with your contributions our additional lineup looks like this: Last Blade 2, JoJo (please someone have this), CvS2, SSF4 (of course), BBCS, Tekken 6/Tag, KI, Galaxy Fight, 3rd Strike, Alpha Collection, KOF 98/2k2 and im determined to get my hands on a Powerstone for DC (preferably 2 for multiplayer, but 1 is way better), And if anyone is a Virtual On player ill gladly vs in some Oratario Tangram.

did a bunch of looking at the mvc3 characters and it seems my initial desires are holding true. really wanna play arthur and i’ve been hooked on him since I saw the fan service provided in his double jump, then i’m looking at haggar (manliness and pipes/grabs), hulk (comeback potential), spencer (he looks super stylish), and modok (laurence swears he can see me playing him–but he may be attempting to sabotage my playing… but i’ll def try him out as I’ve been interested in his being a flying bucket of KFC since I laughed at the first photo I saw of him), and i’ll wait to see what happens with trish (traps look strong) and the two dlc chars. how are peeps planning to arrange their buttons?

Good luck with that last setup lol, but I am not familiar with your dexterity so it may work well for you.

B E A2 notice so having them together is best imo.
On MODOK I believe (like Arthur) despite the learning curve those are the types of characters that I think will have a significant impact once they are fully explored. Plus he doesn’t seem to be a fan favorite (like the Dante, Deadpool legion) and may be a scarcely played character like Hakan…meaning potential to blow up a lot of people unfamiliar with his style of play.
Haggar looks strong and from reports is the only grapple style character to combo into throws which is a really strong advantage on top of the potential damage he can do. but I don’t believe there is a lot of vid of Haggar or Phoenix out there to say much of anything.
Hulk looks buffed, but I wouldn’t be afraid of him if he is the last character on your team. Bigger characters like him and Juggernaut (Sentinel with flight mode is a little different) NEED assists to either start an offense, or create openings in one’s defense to utilize their amazing damage potential. Especially with gamma charge remaining a charge move and no back dashing to command throw mechanic to save oneself ala SF4 and BB he will be fodder for a decent rushdown game.
I don’t know who im playing, everyone looks fun in their own right so I can’t say much, but X-23 looks like my strider replacement, and Amaterasu is probably my favorite character at this point, looks too good. Still iffy on She-Hulk. I’ll need a team to take on the Dante’s, Chun-li’s, Dead Pools, Magnetos, Storms, Zeros and C.Vipers…probably the scariest of the roster thus far.

That could be a cool idea, tim. Having the normal buttons on the top row and just using your thumb or thumb+index for assists. Also, I saw the write up. I tend to follow kotaku for my gaming news. I have no idea who that writer was, but he certainly approached the issue with kid gloves, which is good, cause then more people will make the trip out there. I actually think I saw Dusty feets there last time I was there.
That Dover place isn’t an “arcade” per se. It’s on of those pc/console cafe type places with a bunch of tvs and a bunch of stations. Dover Bowl, however, has a small arcade in it. It has, pertinent to us, a neo geo cab with SvC Chaos and Samurai Showdown V, a brand new Terminator Salvation shooting game with an hd monitor (looks like they aren’t afraid to buy stuff…), and a MvC2 cab. There was also a HUGE tekken tag cabinet, you know the type where you actually stand like 3 feet away from the screen and each player has tons of space, though the buttons were set up like mortal kombat for some reason.
Basically, I don’t want to have to move my hand at all if I don’t have to. That just leads to late decision making or having to move your hand back to another position should the situation you anticipated change. If your hands never have to move to be able to not only hit any button without moving but also any sequence of buttons without moving, that’s a plus in my book. those vids oh jwong with storm+chun assist are silly. i think keits got blown up cause he kept trying to jump out and getting caught by storm’s cr.A–but how the hell else was he gonna get out since you can’t pushblock assists? The potential for intense lockdown seems pretty apparent with the right assists and some damn trijumps. also, modok looks hilarious and he has a command grab. love me those command grabs.
Ya, Galaxy Gaming used to be in a much bigger place before they moved upstairs to the smaller area. Even in their large place I don’t think they had much along the lines of newer cabinets. They had a bunch of pinball old school pacman, stuff like that.
I am going to be moving to a friends house in downtown Dover in the next couple of weeks. The basement of the house is used as a DIY music venue, but we were also entertaining the ideas of hosting a gaming tournament in the basement with maybe a punk show after.
