Well like IAM said this is for people cr.teching which everyone does. Obviously frame traps dont work against reversals. But Souchan is right, because of slow startup it doesnt beat anything rapid fire like Rogs jab or Bisons cr.lk. I need to test jabx2, f.st.mp though. I know for sure cr.hp doesnt work but f.st.mp comes out faster so may. But they do work…and work wonders.
lp palm is a good frame trap too, if you can figure out how it works.
Hell yeah, I use it heavily on Gouken and that little running bastard Fuerte
LMAO: It’s my set up for back throw… It blows up a meterless: Abel, Balrog, Bison, Blanka, Chun, Dhalsim, Dudley, EL, Gen, Gouken, Guy, Ibuki, Juri, Makoto, Rose, Rufus, Sakura, Vega
Cody- Needs Bingo
C. Viper- Im getting mixed results…
T. Hawk - mixed results
Zangief- Still checking, Lariat may beat it
Honda - Butt stomp and Command Throw wins
Hakan- mixed results… but IIRC I was hitting him more oft than not … that was a minute ago though
Everybody else, you better stick to safe jumping / stuffing them… lol.
GOUKEN POWA!!!
Oh man. Now I’m sad I’m at work.
I wanna get in the lab and mess around with LP Palm
It’s a dirty little thing. LOL
Got any hints for me?
Just play around with the timing as much as possible. It has startup and you can be command thrown and even regular thrown if you do it too late. Its an awesome move though. Alot of Goukens ask for the super lp palm back but I absolutely love this one. I do it and fadc alot…if the opponent blocks I throw. It happens so fast that I have never had someone tech the throw. If it doesnt hit I can dash a few times while they’re flying back and be right on top of them when they wake.
Same advice for finding the safe jump, ambig window… set the computer dummy on jump.
Now go hit them, just make sure they can’t jump out and you can fully combo them. That’s how I found almost all of my non OS tech.
This is good advice for any character regardless of who you play. You’ll learn all of your counter hit and frame trap set ups this way…
You’ll start to notice, the different wake up patterns etc. Especially on Blanka… on him… set him up to spam electricity on wake up… now do the same… when you start hitting and grabbing him out of it consistently, you’ve learned how to beat his wake up. Thus online Blanka, Sucks BALLZ.\ b/c that window is so wacky.
I have a really tough time doing cr.tech/mk. Because of the way my pad is set up its just hard for me to hit both buttons at the same exact time. I was fighting FURY yesterday, he played Cammy and I was pushing, what I felt like, was both buttons at the same time and cr.lk kept popping out. So my question is: If I dont get them at the same time, lets say I end up pushing cr.mk slightly earlier but am still pushing cr.tech maybe like a frame after…if the cr.mk is starting to come out, will I still successfully cr.tech? I hope that makes sense. So to clarify, if I push cr.mk a frame faster than my cr.tech, if a throw is attempted, will I tech or because the cr.mk is technically more active, will I just get cr.mk with no tech?
I’m pretty sure you’d just get cr.MK and no tech.
SF4 button priority and all…
Actually yes you can still get a tech as long as the follwing 2 things happen, 1. You need to be grabbed before the first startup frame of any of the buttons you pressed happens and 2.The tech needs to have been pressed during the frames of the tech window(7 iirc). So if you say pressed the mk on frame 2 and the lp+lk on frame 7 youll get the tech. As long as you didn’t push a button before the throw goes active you are gonna be fine.
On this same list, this frame trap will work on the above in the same conditions… If they don’t have any meter they must block or run.
Nevermind the Ken dummy… Ken and that srk group will pop your ass in between the hado and the palm… So will the other group with meter. When they have meter I normally dash forward and lp palm right out side of their range after the hado… Gouken will stop short range and they will go flying in the air… LMAO

i don’t understand this. no mater how many rotations i get for U2, i still get slower speeds rather than just quickly getting directional inputs, e.g. quickly moving the stick in every direction randomly. why?
i can do 8 rotations, easy. yet U2 still comes out slow
It sounds like your stick isnt working Sun. I think it only takes around 5 for full speed so if you’re doing 8 and its coming out slow then I’m thinking your stick just isnt working. But I don’t wanna insult your intelligence man because I’m sure you checked that. Other than that idk…maybe only some directions on the stick arent working?
it’s fine. all the directions on my stick are working, i’m playing fine. when i lose it’s because of what i’m doing wrong, no input errors. i have the cross tekken fight pro stick…i’ll just blame that. shitty game…shitty stick. lol
Hahaha. It must be in the water man. The day before yesterday I gained almost all of my PP back I lost from this terrible set I had with Solid. I was feeling good, played yesterday and lost about 600 PP in a few hours. Today I get on for about 2 hours and gained about 400 back. Its just been a terrible roller coaster ride for me lately. But just like you said, I think its my pad. I think its TOO broken in because its hella sensitive now and I get tatsu when trying to sweep, jump when trying to dash in and throw. Its just fucking my whole game up.
this square gate is killing me. there’s too much “space” to go from blocking back to st.block and it’s been fucking up how i block crossups. idk, maybe i’m just starting to suck ass now?
edit: i mean crouching block to standing block. ugh
Lol I was thinking that same exact thing man. After a while I said “do I suck now or something?”. I think Im gonna get a new pad and see what happens. That’ll be my guage I guess.
You may be depending too much on the gate like I do…you don’t need to hit the corners to get the input but if you rely on feeling the stick hit the edge, a square gate definitely is slower. The other issue with square gate is if you don’t rely on the gate edge, you need to be motion perfect or sometimes you will get down or back but not both together which is frustrating. Combine this with lag and crossup to lk to whatever kills a lot of times when it really shouldn’t. I get pretty heated when I know what I need to block and the shit just doesn’t respond appropriately. I mean…blocking? How is that coming out too slow?
I started out with the octagonal years ago but I just can’t use it anymore. It’s clunky and the diagonals don’t work so well. Octagonal gates are like training wheels, they need to come off at some point.
