Ex tatsu can not be hit out of it’s first few frames, it has a full 7 frame invincibility, if the first active frame hits anything, it wins. 'a later active frames however can trade or flat out lose to moves though. I like the idea of armour on ex, I can think of plenty of reasons it’s be balanced and a fun nod shin Gouken.
karakusa, boxer ex overhead… etc etc.
You are right. I was trying to convince myself that the game is completely fair…lol i wanted to create amodded version of the game with these ideas just to see how it would turn out.
Sorry for asking but i cant seem to find exact details on the Denjin U2.
Damage data?
charging timing and level??
any way to precisly determain the level you want?
Speed data:
how many times to twist joystick? for diff speed?
Any tips on playing footsies with Gouken? I seem to do better just spamming demonflip than trying to stay grounded and poke the opponent out.
Most of Goukens normals are situation specific. cr hk, st hk, cr mp are pretty good to start.
Check the wiki for damage and charge data.
There is no way to determine precisely unless you can count frames, longer is better and that’s all you really need to know. The longer you can charge it before getting a successful hit, the better.
This is not concrete just because I don’t remember for sure (I actually did test this and the results are in the Denjin thread I believe) but it should be 720 for medium speed, and 1080 for fastest speed. As a side note, you don’t need to do circles for speed increase, you can do inputs as well i.e. side to side, but you need to get as many inputs as you would get for doing a 720 a or 1080 respectively.
pokes are listed in the moveset thread
What others said plus you need to go to training and learn the distances for his moves. Far st.hp, far st.hk, far st.mp and cr.lk will help keep people out but you must always be aware that just about every character has faster pokes. In general, start these pokes earlier than you would with Ken or Ryu and watch your opponent walk into them. At closer range, your fastest poke is st.mk and then cr.mk (weird hitbox) along with lp. One under used poke that is actually better than it seems at first is st.lk. The problem with this one is that up close, it is slow with long recovery. A little further away and it is pretty good at pushing them out with a few button presses. The truth is that Gouken will not win with pokes, but he can frustrate and disrupt his opponent with them because they are good at the right ranges. Start considering kongo as one of his best pokes and you are on your way to opening up Gouken’s potential.
^^Don’t forget cr mp !!! that’s one of my faves
Yeah, I was really surprised when I read that it hits low.
Once you’ve played Makoto stuff like that is never surprising :3
how many joystick-rotations do you need to fully speed up the Denjin?
It demands an awful lot of inputting, from what I can tell…
Why not just one rotation for one speed-boost, and another for the second, and a third for the last?
Because that would be too smart?
This is already putting me off. Having to rotate it like a madman, is too much to be asked of this gentleman…
stupid moronic shit…
once you try it a few times it’s really easy
Denjin full speed should require 5 full rotations and 3 for the “medium” speed.
It’s actually a pretty wide window during the cinematic. I used to rotate it about 7-8 times before without looking desperate…lol
You can rotate it 5 times and still wait for the cinematic to end.
It’s just unnecessary, and dumb. I think we can all agree on that? I’m not saying it’s difficult to rotate the joystick… I’m just really, really annoyed at Capcom. They never come through.
I like it when you’re playing offline. I’ll just tap up sometimes and they think I’m churning and then they jump, lands them right on top of the slow one lol
although, you could also fake it by inputting half-circles, rather than full-circles
Mayb, but what if you want to change your mind and go ahead with slow speed during ultra freeze? One rotation -> one speed boost may hurt in that specific case.
