My real point is that what’s done is done, and I don’t think Capcom will be releasing any more changes, so we should find some merit to it.

It’s a tribute to 3s and a simple one to execute.

Count how many buffs we received in AE and 2012. Count how many nerfs bad matchups of ours have received. Never came through? I can’t agree with that, balancing isn’t so easy as some people like to think, it’s not just the ramifications to 1 character, it’s how it interacts with the entire cast. They are trying, even if they don’t get it perfect. 2012 Gouken is such a blast to play right now :smiley:

yesterday i did a counterhit cl.s.FP to U1 during a match
when i tried to repeat in training mode i couldn’t replicate. is it character specific

You sure he didn’t just forget to block? If not do you still have the match in your replay list? The move shouldn’t be able to get better than +8

it was cinematic U1 and KO, and showed up as 4-hit combo. i played a lot of matches and forgot which one it was…

Don’t remember the character you got it against either? Also try to remember if they had an alt costume or something, cody had an issue with his prison alt a while back, stuff like that might slip in.

sorry two huge noob questions, just started playing…

first, how are you supposed to do cr hp into ex palm? i can do regular hp into ex palm but if i do the cr version it comes out wrong.

second, i’m practicing the mp cr hp into fireball, but my fireball keeps coming out as the mp version… what to do? (i am plinking for it)

Usually people just go from down, down forward, down.

you might be doing the motion too fast for the fireball and negative edge is catching it. Thats the only thing i can think of.

i’m pretty sure that’s what i’m doing for the palm… and i feel like if i do the fireball any slower it’s just not going to come out lol = [

should also mention that i AM letting go of both hp and mp as soon as i plink so i don’t understand why ex fireball comes out sometimes…

I personally abuse the SRK shortcut of pressing only the diagonal x2. I use the first diagonal as my “down” for my cr.hp, and then the second press of the diagonal + 2P brings out ex palm.

In your inputs, you are starting from down, then doing 2xqcf. That’s why the super is coming out.
Start from df+HP, and then do down, then df+2Punches.
Impossible to miss. Just don’t wait the cr.Hp to connect. Press this sequence and it will come out.

For the fireball, definitely is negative edge (I hate this as well). You have to let go of the button before you input the stick motion: df, f+LP.
To make sure, I usually do cr.hp (hold), df, f+LP (and then let go of HP button). It helped a lot.

Also, why are you plinking the hp+mp? You aren’t doing it in the middle of a combo, so just start with a single hp. When you let go the two buttons, the Ex fireball comes out. If you need to plink, in the middle of a combo, try holding mp+hP, and then pressing the LP for the fireball, before releasing the 2 first punches, like in the example above.

My main issue is when I’m blocking with down+back, and then do cr.HPxx EXpalm really fast for a punish, I end up getting cr.HPxx EX kongo instead! CRAP!

still having one issue with the fireball. (btw i am plinking b/c i’m practicing for jmk stmp crhp lpfireball). i tried your tips, and it works well. only problem is that i can’t really do the second tip you suggested… i’m a pad user, so i can’t really hold down mp and hp at the same time while pressing lp. is there anyway around it? i mean i guess it’s not too bad since mp fireball hits and i’m not getting the ex-fireball anymore, but it would be nice to know

edit: nvm i can but this is hands down the most awkward motion i’ve done so far.

edit2: nvm virtually impossible to actually combo while having my thumb holding mp while hitting lp. i guess i’ll just have the mp fireball or just not plink for the combo instead. thanks

Hold down Hp during your combo to solve your issue, this has long been a secret of the master pad users.

Meh…I just tap the hp quickly and usually have no issues with lp fireball. If the mp fireball is hitting, then you actually have a few more frames for an FADC follow up. In the corner, you can tag cr.hp xx mp.fb FADC level 2 (first frame or so of level two) as a combo on most opponents. Nice since they are now crumpling with their back to the corner.

The problem that I had was there was no consistency… I would get lp fb, mp fb, EX fb, and EX palm. Mp fb would miss crouchers and if anyone was mashing then I got punished.

Are you on controller or stick?? The methods are different on both.

Since Ive been holding hp down I can’t remember the last time I got a bad input.
