The specific name of this thread wasn’t the point I was trying to make. All I was trying to say was, by creating your all-female thread on this forum, which is predominantly males between the ages of 14-20, you have to expect that a bunch of horny idiots are going to come in here and post something like the “calendar” idea. I’m not saying you shouldn’t have your own thread, or a place where female gamers can relate to each other, because it’s a really good idea. I’m just saying that because this topic is on SRK, you have to expect that morons will come and try to ruin it with stupid ideas. Unfortunate, but inevitable.

Like I said, claims of being religious have nothing to do with anything. Religion has very little to do with actual behavior. Im sure many missionaries thought they were highly religious when they were forcing their religion on others and torturing and raping the people they were sent to “save”. Im sure many KKK members think their highly religious when they go to Baptist churchs and look for passages in the bible to support their superiority over minorities. Im sure the Phelps see themselves as highly religious when they carry signs saying “Matt is burning Hell” in from of childrens elementary schools that have kids with AIDS attending there.

Being and Extremely religious person I can say with confidence that 99% of Religion today is tainted to the point were it’s not worth following. But it’s a fact that false religion has been at the source of all evil for a long long long time. And that’s perfect!! if you stop and think about it??? What better way to confuse human beings in to not serving God. By either twisting religion so bad to were people are just disgusted with it all together. Our better yet by having every crazy religious group do something really crazy year after year. (be it whites, blacks, or who ever) And thinking there doing it in tha name of God.

It can influence evil as well as good. It’s up to YOU, to decide what to do with it. For every person who chooses to hide behind religion for bad reasons, you have another person who stands behind it for good intentions, contributing positivity to this world. It’s not like she’s running around putting babies on spikes, and then claiming it’s for religious purposes. (So the KKK, Missionaries, and HIV bashers are all moot points) We’re talking about a young woman, playing video games, saying she’s not an attention whore based on her religious values.
I don’t have a religion. That’s something I don’t get involved in. But I still know the difference between a good person with religious roots, and cowards who hide behind it to justify bad things. (which BTW, your examples are all by people who hid behind Catholicism/Christianity. Her religion is neither of the two)

The examples may be extreme, but that doesnt render them moot and void. It just shows that those who THINK they’re religious or claim to be, can be hypocrites, liars, haters, and assholes - sometimes more so than the non-religious because they have something to hide behind. Its the ACTIONS you commit in this life that speak louder than being raised in a religious setting that makes it “just impossible to think about boys!”
So claiming to be relgious, as I’ve pointed out, is kinda silly and moot evidence in itself, and doesnt make anybody immune to doing stupid things or even evil things. Because I guarentee you, at least the children of Phelps honestly think that they are doing the right thing by attacking the rights of homosexuals as human beings. They honestly think their signs of “Matt is burning in Hell” is educational material for the rest of us, and because its the “truth”, it doesnt matter that its hurting that young man’s family and friends. They truly feel that they are acting out their religion. BUT…does this make them good people while they are hurting others with full intent to do so? Even if you have “roots” in a religious background, does it make you incapable of breaking down and doing hyprocritical things? Does it stop you from being a hypocrite? Dont think so.
Not that being an attention ho in the first place is “evil” or even close to it. Its just annoying, stupid, says that the person needs some serious self-esteem help, and it causes problems sometimes for the rest of the female population here at SRK Because we’re in the minority in that it makes people take us less seriously because of the actions of a few. Im not a serious player, but I dont like seeing the efforts of the girls who ARE trying to be serious players, being damaged by that sort of shit.

heres a pic of me doing east coast (or jitterbugging) with one of my swing gals, Heather, at First Fridays in Kansas City.
Certain Fridays of the month in summer, the downtown art galleries open their doors to basically one big block party and art show. (Which reminds me, Im missing the fashion show right now. One of my friends was supposed to be in it, I forgot all about it.) They have trollies that take you around to all the shops and galleries if you dont want to walk. Some of my swing dancing peeps got together to check it out and drink free beer and wine. I dont drink wine, its just nasty, but thought it’d be fun, and it really was. They had some local garage bands down there too that werent too bad either. While waiting for the trolly, we’d practice the Dean Collins Shim Sham and dance around, which was pretty much what me and Heather we doing when Mark grabbed my camera. He tried to grab a photo of my doing a dip with her, but it didnt come out. Im leading on the right in the white top and blue sailor skirt, Heather’s in red on the left.
So basically, Im saying if any of ya’ll are in KC sometime, give me a ring and maybe we can go check out some art!
Ryu: Have you any idea that religion is highly overrated? What I am implying is that most people use the example of religion as the basis for their actions. For example, the Catholic church calling homosexuality as an act of evil or the anti-Arab sentiment following 9/11 in which Islam was a religion of war and chaos. How about the fact that most westernized religions have the tendency to excommunicate those who raise questions in regards to god or even those who simply have no religious affiliation whatsoever. Essentially, religion despises acts of deviance.
Misha: are you talking about the crossroads district “first fridays” here in k.c.? i believe the Mattie Rhodes Art Center participates in that as well. anyway I took some beadwork up to the gallery today and actually sold a pair of earrings while I was still there woo-hoo! then the woman who bought the earrings asked me if I would teach a beadwork class there this summer. Matt and I still have to hammer out the details but it’ll be this July when I do hold the class. I’ll email you the details if you and your sister would like to come by.
btw, i do remember Hilda the big pin-up girl! she’s one of my faves.

Hey girl! I’ve been looking for you to ask if any of your galleries were participating in the First Fridays - yep, the crossroad one! I really enjoyed it, but I still get irritatted when I see what is essentually high school rate work that even I could do and the artist is pricing it at 600 bucks. 600 BUCKS!?! :eek: Nuh-uh! Not for me! Some of it was really nice and intricate and just lovely. I dont remember all the names of the places we stopped by - we didnt hit all of them - but I dont think I stopped by the Mattie Rhodes one. I would definitly have to come up for any beading classes you’d do, and drag the sister along. She and mom have been working on their looms this summer and mom’s looking for a bigger loom for doing a belt. I showed her how she could sew all her pieces together if she just wanted to use her little loom, but she wants to see the whole thing as it builds in front of her, and I cant say that I dont blame her. If she doesnt find one she likes at a decent price, dad will probably just make her one. Maybe she should come up too. She’s terrified of KC though. Tell me if you get things worked out. If its on a weekend I could probably come, but I’ll be working evenings once this job starts. Oh yeah! I found a job! Its at NCHell but, there are worst things for lower pay to be found. I think its like 8.50 or 8.75. Im going to work as much overtime as possible.

Im busy making a swing skirt and a renn fest bodice right now, and fixing up some vintage clothes. Im also adding trim to a sissy dress Im making for Ebay. Its gonna be the bomb when Im done with it. I figure since my new job doesnt start till the 23rd, I might as well get all my sewing done in the mean time and try to restudy my Japanese. Then I get to help chrissy make her dance skirt. Hopefully this’ll be a nicely busy summer. Its took bad you dont live closer , then you could work with me! The female supervisors always hate me. I get along with the male supervisors pretty well though. I mention some sci-fi book and we get along perfectly and trade books for lunchtime and argue about Asimov. I just posted something in another forum, that relates to women. When I wrote it, something had struck a nerve, and I was pretty pissed off. I don’t want any of you girls here to think that I’m writing about you, because I really don’t know any of you well enough to make a judgement call (well, 99.9% of you anyway), so don’t take this personally. It’s just that every woman I’ve ever known has let me down. Anyway, I just wanted to see what you guys thought about what I had to say. Here goes:
—There are really “truly interesting and wonderful women?” Shit, every woman I’ve ever known was either
- Extremely selfish and self-centered
- Too busy feeling sorry for herself to do anything else
- Too annoying and/or geeky to stand for more than 30 minutes
- Too stupid to listen to advice they ASK FOR, doing stupid things and then complaning to you because they went totally against what you told them
- A total slut
- A total tease, leading you on and then crushing you under their boot when you finally let on that you like her
- A total liar
- So demanding that she expects you to read her mind like some kind of fucking psychic, and NEVER do anything unless it’s with her (don’t be fooled, if she says you can go do something and she doesn’t mind, she’s LYING and you’ll pay for it later!)
- Too full of herself
- Just plain fucking crazy.
Every single woman in my life fits one or more of the above, and every single one has let me down.
You want to know why so many guys are so “uninteresting, full of themselves, thinking they are the shit?” BECAUSE WOMEN DEMAND IT. If a guy has no confidence, then that’s no good. Women always whine they want “a nice guy” and there are none of them left. Give me a fucking break! Women WALK ALL OVER nice guys, use them, abuse them, play with their hearts, but in the end they ALWAYS fuck them over (cheat on them, break up with them, tell them “lets just be friends” or you “need tim eapart” but then run off with some other guy, blah blah blah). The fact of the matter is, the women of America have become so fucking selfish, dishonest, and full of themselves, they have no fucking idea what it is they really want from a man. This is why so many guys have become that same “overconfident asshole”…because if we’re nice guys, we get walked all over, and thrown away, because we’re too “boring” or whatever other stupid fucking reason you give. At least if we act like total dicks, we can get laid once in a while.

You know…I could agree with you on a lot of this stuff, but truth be told that the real problem doesn’t lie in the women. In essence, it all comes down to love and the false ideals that we have come to expect over the years. My advice is to just accept it. Love and sex come with bullshit. It’s just something that you’re going to have to come to terms with. If anything…blame our society, which is responsible for such common misconceptions. You know it’s that bad when they start calling Love a game and you have to play to get results from guessing what he/she is thinking to using convenient yet lame and repetitive means of making conversation. It almost seems as if a simple chat has lost its appeal. Sadly, pick-up lines still work. I’m going to have to say that a lot of women are undecisive and unsure of themselves, which can lead to a lot of the fuck ups on their part, but us guys have this tendency to be insensitive and at times, seemingly oblivious to their needs hence the “double standard” theory. You know, both sexes can continue to bitch and moan about how the other is lacking in a certain department (i.e. doesn’t put out, won’t pay attention to me for more than two minutes, etc), but we couldn’t survive without each other. In the end, everyone needs their daily source of dick and pussy (this statement can mean a lot of things other than sex).
Dude, so why did you bring this into this thread? The girls here have nothing to do with your ranting, and you would’ve been better off PMing me with this anger than bringing it in here. Better off keeping it in THAT thread, where it belongs. I’ll address your post when I get the chance, in the OTHER thread.

Punish3r: it wasn’t only just bizarre randomness it was uncalled for to post this in this thread. i can rant about the exact same points when bitching about men (and sometimes i have) in fact you described how the majority of my ex-boyfriends behaved in your rant. but the comment I wanted to make was that your post is true of BOTH sexes, not to mention the fact the at some point in our lives we become attracted to that insanity for some odd reason. the problem also lies in the type of people WE CHOOSE to be with. did you ever question yourself on that aspect? why you consistently chose crazy people to be in love with? this rant of yours swings both ways. Be honest, how many times will you allow yourself to fall in love with the same unstable type of person before you break the pattern of dysfunctional choices. Becoming a mysoginist doesn’t improve your situation either; hate never turns things around for anyone, it just turns you more bitter.
I have few more questions for you: why did you post this rant here? was it to create more drama? to get the female perspective on your bitterness and hate of the female gender? and how many crazy people have you dated or been involved with? and how many sane people have you been with?
Misha: good luck with the job return hopefully you’ll have a better crew to work with this summer. oh, I’ve seen a giant loom for beadwork in a mail-order ad in one of my magazines; I’ll mail it to you and you can give it to your mom. Loomwork is probably the only thing I won’t teach in this class; perhaps your mom could help with that technique. Most of the techniques I’ll be demonstrating will be small simple ones for jewelry pieces; we could do a more advanced class later on for larger projects and perhaps you and your mom could help me out with teaching those classes.
About those high prices on the artwork; i know some pieces shouldn’t be priced so high, but the majority of the time the artist doesn’t ask that much for it but the gallery showing the piece does. there’s a 60/40 split between the artist and the gallery’s commision on the sale; so whatever the artist originally priced the work at, the gallery tacked on 40% to it. If you can buy the artwork directly from the artist after the show, or outside of the gallery you can usually get a much better deal on it. I have a problem with under-selling my work most of the time, which my folks always complain about. shrugs If I sell work to my friends or family, I usually under-sell and cut them a deal on the work; but strangers, I have no problem with over-pricing them for.
