I’ve been posting around here and there, but mostly just trying to finish school. I’m at that 6 month mark almost and then it’s really getting bad with the 5 million projects I’ve got going. D9, I understand;)
I was thinking once I got some more money saved up to go shopping. Jen, you’ve got to post those awesome sites you gave me with the shoes.:lol: Mom erased the Favorites section on our Netscape so I don’t have them anymore.
Marcus and I are doing okay. We’ve put off getting married though, AFTER I went through the trouble of buying the damn dress. I love him, but he’s costing me money!:lol: We know we’re getting married; it’s just when we get the money and we have a good place to live is the question.
Well, gotta go. I’ve got a journalism test on Women and Minorities in the Media in about 10 min. I have not studied and it’s probably going to kick my ass, but I’m going to be okay.

I’m having this absolutely insidious debate with Voodazz in general discussion. For some reason he insists upon making generalizations of women er… stereotypes that demean us. I’m talking stuff like, “we’re airheads, etc.” and I feel that it’s stupid and unecessary. He then makes a thread called “Why it’s great to be man!” which is even more ignorant of him. I called him misygonystic.
To top it off, he tries to turn it around on me and say that it was a joke thread, and the one tournament we went to at the same time, I was laughing and mocking some players when they got owned. Uh, whatever. The one player that I did laugh at was that ass that ran his mouth about how he was better than everyone in Columbia and then got owned in the tournament. Yes, I’m not the best player in the world, but those who run their mouth all the time get what they deserve. And he got his on more than one occasion. Anyway, he says that they wouldn’t call me a hateful bitch because they would know I was joking. And where did this come from again? What does this have to do with anything? Besides, there were only 3 people there that I did not get along with and I ignored them, even after they tried to talk some junk to me.
My whole point is the mysygony running rampant on SRK is ridiculous. I’d say I was a feminist but really the label isn’t done justice that way. I just can’t stand to see innocent women like ourselves and others get dogged and called stupid infantile names and lumped into categories just because we’re women. The last I checked it weren’t for women more so than men, NONE of these asses would even be here.
I’m done ranting for the day. I won’t be able to see Marcus until Sunday!:mad:

I’ve witnessed that debate. I did post in that thread, but the only thing I mentioned was something I learned in psychology class last year which had to do with the comparison of coping mechanisms between men and women. Men have numerous hobbies and interests to take their minds off of something that is bothering them while women have less resources at their disposal. It isn’t a sexist remark or anything like that (that’s the last thing I’d probably ever be, a sexist). I just pointed out a fact that it’s a lot easier for us guys in today’s society to cope with today’s stresses than it is for women. But Voodaz has gone over the line in some of those posts but I see it in other threads like the thread about Asian women and what features they lacked most. I just looked at that thread as being ridiculously stupid because he was calling out an ethnic group like that and pointing out how the women of Asian ethnicity don’t have much of an ass or a pair of breasts, but we all know that every culture has its beautiful as well as its ugly. Ugh, I don’t even feel right posting this. I mean, I’m not innocent. I have hurt some girls with my shallow attitudes before and pretty much ruined my rep with those few. In other words, I’ve done fucked up. But I guess that at the age of 20, part of me is starting to establish a conscience and trying to figure out what’s appropriate and inappropriate to say or do in the presence of females. Bleh, I’m not sucking up if somebody is looking at it that way. I’ve always felt that men and women were equal in a sense in that all had attributes that complemented each other. Men might be stronger physically, but women provide a relief and a sense of comfort to balance it out just as much as men provide a sense of security for women. We just can’t live without each other. But I don’t know. I can’t necessarily hate females. There have been some that have screwed me over and I’ve done my little share of leading on, etc. so it’s a double standard I suppose. But yeah, Voodaz’ remarks were dumb but it isn’t the only thread I’ve seen it in. Hope you understand what it is I’m trying to say.

Rubes, sometimes i have to remind myself that more than 60% of the population here at SRK are adolescent boys and not MEN, real men. Real men know how to exercise a little thing we ADULTS call personal discretion; meaning thinking before they speak/act i.e. the consequences of those statements or actions. Don’t get me wrong though, I’ve had my share of days when it was all estrogen typing at the keyboard as well, just like Voodazz is all testosterone on his “guy” thread. And i’m all to well aware of the mysoginistic overtones here on the boards, along with every other club around the internet and in real life. Sadly though it’s not illegal to be an asshole and that’s his god given right to act that way. He could also end up being the asshole that dies alone without ever knowing what true love really feels like because he was too busy loving his own manly characteristics and celebrating his ego that he never learned how to appreciate women for the wonderful creatures that we are.
Perhaps it’s best that people like Voodazz dies alone and doesn’t procreate…less assholes in the world if they all die off

I get to go to the doctor tomorrow. I was over at my friend Dev’s house singing along to songs my girls had downloaded and watching AntiTrust, when my back suddenly seized up and spasmed. I literally couldnt move for a 30 mins or so, all I could do is lay in the middle of the floor and cry. I have never felt such intense back pain like that in my life. Even when I ripped my back muscles two years ago, it wasnt as bad as that. Even now I can still feel my back twinging. I dont know what set it off at all either, all I can think is maybe its connected to the headache and neckache Ive had for the past three days. So I get to go in and try to convince (as usual) my doctor that Im NOT a hydrocondriac and Im NOT imagining the back pain. (My doctor always says, “Arent you healed already?”) At least I dont have my Westren Civ class tomorrow. He cancled it cause we had mid-terms today and the entire class is fried beyond thought or reason. If he did have class we’d all be rocking back and forth in our seats, muttering to ourselves.

Your back tale makes me cringe. I have this problem myself, but it’s in my left shoulder. Whenever I sit down at a desk or computer chair like I am now at my school’s library, my shoulder starts to have this annoying burning sensation. Not to mention I still have this bump on my wrist from a few years ago. My doctor says surgery isn’t really needed, but I need this sucker drained. It’s not from playing games. It’s from running the cash regsiter at my job, but I haven’t done that on a regular basis in over a year. The thing is that I’ve been moving my wrist wrong everytime I rang something up. Also, my legs hurt from playing laser tag, but not as much as they did like 2 days ago. It was a bitch to go down the steps. Imagine me pulling a Homer and saying “D’oh” everytime I take a step:lol:. Bleh, I need to start lifting weights again. I’m a scawny little bitch:D
