Idk man. http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/6697942/highlight/71252
1:30 mark.
Man he’s good, especially those 1 frame link combos. Beastly!
I started watching at the 24 minute mark where it’s bookmarked. That seems a much better demonstration of Fei by Mago compared to the last vids. I think he’s a little unsure of the match-ups, leading to some obvious mistakes (lots of whiffed flame kick anti-airs against Akuma for instance–unforced ones specifically). He’s missing a lot of punishment opportunities on Akuma’s escape attempts as well. That’s of course not to play down the Akuma player; I’m just looking at areas where he’s leaving gaps open that shouldn’t be there.
That said, there’s no denying that Mago will have very clean inputs when using Fei, leading to some dead-on accurate shit to come from him. I think given more match-up practice, he’ll do Fei some real justice.
Some good things:
He knows the correct spacing for cl.HP anti-airs. This is really good because that’s a tough spot for Fei where jump-ins become ambiguous enough for Flame Kicks to whiff. He’s also using s.HK at times, though I haven’t seen it enough through these vids.
He can hit the plink into cl.HP out of HK/EX CW consistently, meaning he’ll be able to capitalize on bad fireballs.
He’s patient, not always rushing in.
I’m not liking that cr.LK> cl.HP frame trap very much. Very risky if the other person hits option select on blocking the cr.LK. On hit it could be another story since it’s a 1-frame window to trap, but in that instance, why not go for guaranteed damage wit hthe BnB instead? Just not my bag…
It could be that he’s just used to using st. fierce up close alot like you do in ST as Samuraix suggested.
Or it could be that he’s not really trying to frame trap, he’s just continuing offense. 4 frames really isn’t much space to work with, and note that it’s ibuki. I don’t know the frame data on her, but from personal experience, her “reversal” seems kind of weak if it is not EX’d. You’d also kind of have to be expecting something for you to be trying to reversal after the jab, and even then, I know i’d want to have meter to fadc if it gets blocked. I also don’t think Ibuki has a 3 frame jab, but idk.
Or, third option, maybe there was some frame tweakage that we aren’t aware of? Think it’s possible the startup on standing fierce was improved? I know some people said that hk.cw -> st. fierce felt easier in super, and people say that Hk.CW still gives the same frames on hit. But I haven’t heard anything on st.fierce startup.
~Shrug.~ It’s probably the same startup as vanilla and he’s just trying ST shit. But I’m still hoping for undiscovered improvements.
EDIT: Wel’p. Checked the Wiki and it says it’s the same startup. Oh well. Mago’s just doing ST Fei Long shit with the cr.jab -> st. Fierce.
Daigo vs Mago in the first match.
Really heavy use of Fei’s FA on Guile. Superb mix of pressure and bait with that single move.
Man these Nico vids… Someone please Youtube them  How do I play them on Nico?
I think I found it:
Guys, should I post my Fei videos here? I have them in that other thread, but would this be better?
Thanks so much!! Haha, it looks like Mago subscribed to my Guile strategy that I posted here: http://shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=208314&page=5 :wgrin:
Solid play by him, though the Rekka after confirmed MK CW was not a smart idea in the first round. He should’ve gone with a jab or throw since the +2 gives you enough priority on those moves to beat anything that isn’t invincible. I really enjoy watching Mago with Fei though. I always feel like something incredible is going to happen during a clutch moment haha
it looked like he actually went for a jab cancel to rekka only he hit the jab too quick, there were some awkward looking frames there
Been away from Fei for a tad bit too long. Been mostly trying to get my Guile’s offense up for the past couple of months. Here’s a match with me (Fei) versus some Balrog online. I need to learn some resets with Fei. Just throwing this out there.

BTW, if anyone on PSN would like their replays uploaded to youtube, just send me a pm and I’d be more than happy to help out. All the replays will be uploaded in HD. Also, if you want a particular soundtrack added in on the background, I can set that up as well. (You need not any equipment, just invite me to your replay channel and I’ll capture the replays from there.)
(My way of helping to contribute to the community that there are alot of good players out there.
Execution man! I know you know your stuff… More Fei, less Guile :-p
Lol I kept thinking to myself “This match would’ve been over already if he picked Rekkashingeki instead” haha. Bunch of opportunities there definitely.

When a Guile or Honda wins it never feels hard earned…
Oh man, the first round of that last set with Honda–just one dropped Rekka combo made the difference there. Also that 2nd round of the first set with Guile–one missed Flame Kick cancel. Some very tight matches overall, but just watching you can tell how hard Fei has to work. Those Flame Kick anti-airs were spot on though
I’m sorry!! I’ll definitely put work into my Fei now.
Here’s my first attempt at playing Fei Long against anyone. Seems like a fun character to play:

I need to know matchups and read up on what are his good normals and AA normals if any. Then again probably learn how to block more.
you’ve got quite an execution on the BNB (and reactions in general) to be your first time with Fei…
For the past few days, I did a bit of training mode sessions just to see what combos he could do and that BNB combo was the only one I could do consistently. This really is my first time using Fei Long against anyone (online or offline). Other then that, I’ve been watching a few of my friends use him from time to time. I really like how he moves in the game but hate it when I’m cornered, especially against a good Guile that locks me down. Wish his c.fierce was as fast in HDR/ST because I’m still whoring the crap out of it lol.
After watching other videos that are posted in this thread, it looks like pressuring with FA’s is necessary with Fei Long.
