New FCC rules, Net Neutrality Wins! 332 Chambers of Death

It ain’t looking great:

Anyone who’s been keeping up with the issue over the years knew the Wild West would be inevitably reigned in, especially when there’s profit to be made. No doubt this will further contribute to the U.S’s uncontested title of most financially imbalanced country in the world.

Whens the war?
Need to be ready for it so I can shoot up some Rich people.

Just like everything else they’ve tried before hand, this will fail too.
Whack-a-mole continues. They’d have to mess with the DNS core stuff to really do anything, and
if they actually have enough of a deathwish to try that, they’re getting killed, I can guarantee that.

The problem with that is the Internet is decentralized by definition. Literally impossible to fully control it.

As pessimistic as that statement is…I would really have difficulty in disagreeing with it. Sucky news to say the least.

EDIT:

One could only hope as much, but it’s still disheartening to see D.C. still fighting so hard for control.

Yeah, it’s disconcerting, but they have an 0 for how-many-times-have-they-failed-again track record, so it’s no big, when it comes down to it.

So the FCC did an about face on this? That’s what I get for having hope.

They can talk about having special lanes and shit when our ISP infrastructure is anywhere near Japan, South Korea or Sweden.

I never liked the Internet anyway…

Seriously when bandwidth droughts aren’t a thing, then we can talk. Its bullshit that I can pay for 10mb and only get 2 at some points because there aren’t enough lines

Yeah, well, that’s what you get for not being rich. Or a corporation. Only moneyed interests get any time of day here in good ol’ Murrica!

I don’t think this will affect the quality of our net service that much; it’s really more of a problem for content providers. If you don’t have money behind you to help deliver your stuff, it’s probably going to lost in the shuffle anyway. The US has gotten to be a difficult place to live if you’re not rich.

This has the potential to hurt start up businesses. Imagine Netflix trying to start up with these rules. They wouldn’t have the capital to afford quality streaming.

If there were a perfect reason for hackers to band together and do something badass to beat something stupid…this would be one of those things.

Save us Anonymous, you’re our only hope?

Is that what we’ve come to?

This hasn’t happened YET. FCC is just proposing the bill for next month. Congress/President can still reject this shit, can’t they? Obama has stated before that he was all for an open interweb.

What are they gonna do? Hack a Gibson? That’s impossible and you know it.

That smells like a sequel to me. Challenge-flavored.

====================

They aren’t a personal army so they never really do shit unless it could effect 4chan directly. Or it has to be a hilarious trolling opportunity in their eyes. Like sending a large pizza and 50 dipping sauce cups to somebody’s house.

Obama is a banking and corporate whore, I don’t understand why people still believe in him. You people sound like battered wives to me.
