NEW DreamCast Emulator: nullDC v1.0.0 Beta (Runs games at FULL SPEED!)

Yeah you should proably avoid Intel grpahics. In anything. Ever.

Alpha/Zero 3 supported?

Anyone know if Street Fighter Alpha/Zero 3 is supported in this latest version of Nulldc? I really loved single player modes on that game back in the day (and they obviously aren’t on the mame version)

I’ll be over the moon if they finally got it working, I can’t work out how to use any other emulators :frowning:

Hey aj, nice seeing you here.

I have no imagination for my names

It’s official folks. The nullDC v1.0.3 (Naomi Version) is now available for download. It now includes documentation, which should help you get the games running. Remember, you’ll need good dumps of the games, and you may need to use the accompanied ā€œgdrom2rom.exeā€ file to create a proper decrypted rom. Also, the current gdrom2rom.exe will not work with roms dumped with just a single ā€œbinā€ file. You’ll need at least a 1GB track03.iso or track03.bin to use gdrom2rom.exe correctly, until the next release.

Same changelog from nullDC v1.0.3 (DreamCast Version).

thanks for the updates, officer. lol

fandom factoid: I can upgrade the videocard on my laptop. it’s somewhat unique in that regard. :wgrin:

Dell E1705. It has a Go7800 inside…but I can up it to a Go7900GTX if I want to. a bit expensive to do, though ($250 for the card, new from Dell).

High-end Dell XPS systems and Alienware laptops can also do vidocard upgrades and SLI configurations.

i am still getting gfx glitches from mvc2

What are the plugins you are running? Try running PowerVR NullPVR plugin and ElSemi for Sound. That should fix your graphic problems. Hopefully your computer isn’t too old and can run the NullPVR plugin otherwise you will have to stick to the Chankast plugin which will downgrade graphics.

shit

I gotta try this

It runs perfectly for me using:

nullPVR video
nullAICA audio

PowerVR = stretched, **FULL **textures, sorted OFF, NORMAL modifier volumes, and ZBuffer set to whatever.

Audio configured to 2048 buffer (for Vista)

only slows down a bit for me when there are 4+ characters on the screen doing supermoves.

wish I had the NTSC version of this game, though.

is this playing DC games properly or NAOMI’s?
im assuming they both have same games but im sure naomi board had some extra not available for dc?

PM sent.

There are 2 versions. There is NullDC for Dreamcast and there is NullDC-Naomi. The link posted above is for the Dreamcast version.

In MvC2 how do I make those strange white bars around the sprite images dissapear?

mess around with the options selected in PowerVR.

one of my friends is having this issue in Vista (32-bit)

never loads up. now…he has the exact same file setup as I have (trust me), yet his not only doesn’t load up (actually crashes on the default PowerVR plug-in, but his also shows NTSC (see the top bar) where mine shows PAL. lol. unexplainable to me.

I have had him dump his dc_flash_wb file. he’s told me he is on DirectX 9.0c.

We’re running the exact same OS. And the same files with the same setup work perfectly for me.

if anyone has seen similar, let me know. thanks.

do you have the visual glitches?

if not could you post your system settings?

and how the heck do I configure the keyboard?

He needs to upgrade to Directx 10. If that doesn’t work then his video card is really crappy, like 4 years ago crappy. He will have to change the PowerVR to Chankast. This means he will lose quality.

-Tha Hindu

yea…he just told me he has an intel graphics chipset on his laptop. LOL.

So I was checking this when news first broke of MvC2 emu, and disappeared to let emu take its course. I’ll read thru all this stuff when I get home *@work*. I am curious though, I have a nice sized DC game collection that I’d really like to archive, is the process for getting my ISOs difficult? Do I need a GD-ROM to rip my own stuff? sorry for low level questions, I’ve kept my distance sorta on purpose.

On a sidenote, I wish I knew more about this from a hardware/software perspective. I’d love to use my elec eng background + comp sci background to help the community some.
