NEW DreamCast Emulator: nullDC v1.0.0 Beta (Runs games at FULL SPEED!)

okay, those with Intel Express Chipsets and having problems like my friend had:

go here: http://forums.ngemu.com/nulldc-discussion/94548-intel-graphics-crash-problem-solved.html

and here: http://files.filefront.com/3danalyzer+v236rar/;5422262;/fileinfo.html

3D Analyzer is your new best friend.

Ah, whenever I load up NullDC it works fine, but then when I try to load up a game it crashes. Any idea why this would be happening? I just updated directx and I have nullPVR running for video.

edit- Actually scratch that. Even when I try to just load without a disk it still crashes.

When I try to run the video with the chankast plugin, the screen is all messed up.

computer spec, please. video card type especially.

and make sure you have the latest version of DirectX.

Can anyone give me a link to download nulldc and mvc2 for it on a MAC? Help appreciated

Okay, so I’m trying to run 3d-analyze on another computer but I keep getting an error when clicking RUN. I have the one option checked off and it is trying to open nulldc Naomi. I get an error saying ERROR WHILE INJECTING DLL INTO TARGET PROCESS. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

delete this, can’t ask for roms

Hmm I can’t seem to play my games at Full speed despite exceeding the requirements, my computer specs are:

Nvidia 7300 GT
Dual Core Processor
2 gb of ram
3 ghz.

Does the newest release read downloaded memory card files? i tried finding a way before but couldnt get it to work. if it did i wouldnt use chankast anymore (things like 4 player marvel and whatnot)

You need to upgrade your 7300 GT to like what im using a minimum of 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT I would upgrade if I were you…

Dream-Visions, clear your message box.

any1 know if sega saturn will be cracked?

Saturn is emulated just fine. The nature of the console means that emulation is a little CPU intensive; nothing most average PCs can’t handle but I’ve seen some atrocious specs on SRK.

question: does it run perfectly for your friend?

because i tried using 3DAnalyze awhile ago, but i get a lot of graphic imperfections when i run it (even more so than the november '07 version of nullDC).

A desktop 7300 GT isn’t going to be much slower than the laptop card you mentioned there…

done. sorry, was out of town.

actually, he told me it does not. :shake:

sorry man. that was the best solution I could find online for those intel chipsets. this is why I tell people never to buy their laptops at local stores like Best Buy or Circuit City. They look nice and they are cheap…but they almost always have those intel express chipsets in them…and they’re worthless for anything gaming related.

curious. you’ll need to tell us what game you’re trying to play, what plug-ins you have selection and what settings in said plug-ins you’re using.

A cursory glance at your specs suggests to me that your GPU isn’t really spectacular, but should certainly be able to push out full speed graphics with the right settings. if you’re using the default video setup for PowerVR, you should go into the options–>powerVR menu and turn off or lower the settings. chances are if you turn down (or off) the right option, it’ll jump up to a smooth ride.

i get better framerates on nullPVR, but the screen looks messed up. MVC2 characters are made up of around 7 large squares with random colors. would be pretty funny if i weren’t actually trying to run it normally. i end up having to use ChankaPVR.

edit:
I’m using intel 815GM or something like that. very crappy.

This emulator is really awesome!

I don’t know if the devs read this thread or someone (GameCop?) can send suggestions or questions to them. The only thing I want to mention is that it seems like the Syncing to audio method seems to produce choppy framerates since the fps is not 60fps constant (it varies to 59.xx or 61.xx sometimes).

It’s not really noticeable in Soul Calibur but in Skies of Arcadia you can see how choppy the framerate is when you move around in the first town. If you put sync audio OFF then all is smooth but it’s way too fast. If you put sync audio ON, the game plays at the correct speed but framerate is choppy a little.

I was wondering if there will be a possible fix for that or since the emulator seems to be coded in a “plugin” way or if this is a “by design” flaw and will never be corrected?

Just asking, still very happy with this emulator. I mentioned the one major flaw I can see with it besides not being 100% ok with textures.

Amazing work.

Sorry for the newb question, but is there any chance that Senko no Ronde will work soon, or is the stuff with more 3D too much?

Can some1 help me get started with setup the emu? I don’t know anything!

oh ok thanks!

I must’ve been the lucky one. I just picked up a laptop from Best Buy last night and the guy says “I was in the Navy for 4 years, we don’t make commission, so I’m going to tell you straight up how I feel about these computers. This one points at laptop ain’t shit for gaming.” (It had the Intel Express Chip in it). :razzy:

Anyway, time to figure out how this nullDC thing works…hopefully I’ll be able to understand the documentation.

edit: Err, nope. I got lost while going over the documentation a few times already. :[
