If you mean Homing L into ff+L, then yes. Then just cancel ff+L to Homing L again and do HH XX super for damage.
Can you even ff+L out of a JF attack? I have only tried Goku’s JF because i haven’t had alot of time to play it but i couldn’t ff+L out of it, it just make the opponent spin so i can’t juggle anymore. Unless either the homing dash makes the ff+L not make the opponent spin out of control or just a few people that can.
Oh and i haven’t figured out how the stamps work in Z survivor, how do they? I know what i get if i get 5 stamps but i would complete Z survivor and get 3 stamps or 4.
If they spin after you do the string, you aren’t doing the JF properly. When you do Goku’s JF string properly, the last hit will launch them with a big explosion, plus there is a different audio cue. Basically, if you do the JF right, you will hear Goku yell. If not, then you only hear the opponent grunt from being hit.
That’s not what he’s saying. He’s saying that after the JF launches the opponent, then he tries to follow that up with a 66W (to relaunch). This sets the opponent into a non-juggle state.
I think the difference is that Trunks’s JF doesn’t actually launch the opponent like Goku’s does. Although, I’m not positive.
Ah, I thought he was saying that they spun after the string and he couldn’t hit the ff+L. In the case you’re mentioning, yeah, Goku’s JF is considered a “launcher” like the ff+L, so if you tried to ff+L after it, they would spin and you couldn’t juggle any further.
Ahh thanks. Any info on how the stamps actually work then?
^^ Try setting the time to 45 seconds. I have no clue why setting the time has an effect (especially since the time in Z survivor is always 80 secs), but once you do, you’ll pretty much keep getting stamps after each battle until you hit 5, and you’ll stay there. I’ve actually gotten two stamps on the first battle. Heh.
I saw super DBZ for the PS2 and is it the same game as the arcade or is it different but has the same name. I just thought Chou DBZ was import only. Am I right?
i really think 16 is top tier he is so fucking strong.
Super DBZ is the English name for Chou DBZ, so yes, it’s the arcade game.
Yeah I know that, I was just curious if the US version is the same as the import version. Thats all.
…Yes, it is.
Cool thanks. Hopefully its still $28 at Fry’s
Oh, me so sorry.
Good fucking god. Ive been in a cave for weeks I didn’t know this game was out yet WTF!!! I read some of the thread and seems you guys like it. Seems every dbz game that comes out gets better and better. But where is the love for supersonic warriors 2? That shit looks SICK!! The team attacks and all the shit in it looks insane and all the other crazy shit in the vid from the first page. It looks like it will be better than super dbz O_O did anyone play it yet?
I totally agree, I have a sick combo that uses 3 supers with 16 and it pretty much kills the guy. I put the handicap down but with it up it’s a one combo killer.
His 720 Grab super is nasty too.
Man, I LOVE THIS FREAKING GAME!! I haven’t been so into a new fighting game in a long time. At times I have a tough time deciding who I want to use because everyone is so diverse.
Piccolo: Special Beam Cannon. This Super is only 1 hit but man, is it nasty. Beam Cannaon is also a good move because of the distance you can use it at.
Krillin: Love his side stepping game. Seems like he’s quicker on his feet than anyone else. And Destructo Disk is killer. I love how you can steer beams in this game.:lovin:
Goku: He’s just an all around great character for anyone to use. And Isnstant Transmission is great for closing up space.
Cell: Judgement rocks and I love finishing off my fights with it. Also, I just love his throws.
I’m still learning to overall better my skills in fighting games so there’s some terminology that still makes me scratch my head. When you guys say mixups, what do you mean?
“Mixups” are a common strategic method in most (if not every) fighting game. It is the basic aspect of playing “mindgames” with a human opponent. Mindgames are important against real human players because it can mean the difference between winning and losing a match.
They are exactly what you think it sounds like.
Examples of mixups include changing/varying your hit levels (high, mid, low), throwing or not throwing, jumping with a hit/empty jumping, teching/ not teching…etc.
Basically, you want to keep your opponent guessing and not repeat the same patterns over and over again. A good player will be able to read their opponent’s playing styles (if they are getting too predictable) and react accordingly.
Slaps forehead Ahhhh. Seeing as I’m already familar with the term mindgames, I should have known what mixups ment. I didn’t get serious about fighters until 2004 when I registered at SRK and the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection guide taught me a lot. Even so, I’ve still got a lot to learn.
I really like 17, but man, he seems like more of a character for advanced players. Maybe its just me.
Eh, I wouldn’t say 17 is too advanced, but unlike most characters, 17 doesn’t have a strong projectile to rely on (unless you give him one via inheritance).
He’s great upclose, though. He’s got attack strings with minimal disadvantage on block. He’s got strings with built in throws, etc. 17 does have some trouble getting in, but once he’s in, he’s really good.
