New art in KOF Xii low resolution

Lol hold up, i never said that KOF XII isn’t HD, so we’re not at the same page. I still think its the most impressive 2d fighter of all, and looks absolutely beautiful in the HD Cabinet they have at arcades.

People are trying to make this sound like a technical issue when its an art direction issue. They wanted their game to look the way it does because thats their style. Thats pretty much the middle point of the whole thing.

If that’s the case, why did they allow blurring filters?

Don’t make me laugh.

Long answer: They knew not everybody was going to like the look, so to make it more accessible, they added the filters in

Short answer: To make people like you STFU.

Pretty lazy way to make it more accessible, don’t you think?

Didn’t work though, did it? “People like me” see right through that cheapness.

Every KOF released on consoles in the last years had filters option, yet didn’t have any on the arcade version. KOF XII didn’t do anything new, so the real question is, why would they remove a staple feature in the KOF console ports?

And didn’t some Capcom games have optional filters too? I fail to see your point.

I didn’t realise that about the old KOF games, thanks for the info.

It’s in the display settings.

Yeah, I don’t play/buy KOF coz they use low-res sprites.

…and you wonder why there’s disagreement with you in this thread.

…

Say, bud, are you a sprite artist or animator by chance?

:nono:

I’m not your bud, pal.

That explains everything…

lol @ everyone that said this wasn’t a troll topic.

stop feeding the trolls plz.

Just a remark, if you upscaled them to BB size, that would be almost double the height… that means quadrupled workload.

Not to mention that the grading they use now would have been even harder to do, so add an additional 25% or so increase to that on top.

:wtf:

SFIV for PC has 3 graphical filters, poster, ink and watercolor.

:tup:Good Job. You blew your cover. Take the suicide pill.

Uncle Phil will be right along to throw your ass under the bridge.

cool… so since you see right through the cheapness move on with your life, go play something else, and do yourself a favor and ignore any KOF threads…you will be happier and everyone else will be as well… it’s win win

Let’s take a short break and get real about this relationship. Snk isn’t your friend or a group of distant pals. They’re a company that makes a product. No different than than anything else you own. Capcom isn’t your big brother, Arcs isn’t a family friend. They are corporations. Even wee tiny arcs sucks down about 700 million a year. They make ‘products’. You give these products your support with your money. That is the bottom line here. Do this or don’t, but don’t invest yourself emotionally to the point that you lose track of the bigger picture. If Snk had a guarantee that they’d sell X amount of copies by selling a ps1 polygon fighter they’d do it. Think about that a tiny bit before you shout down someone you’ve never met over the artistic integrity that Kyo’s jaggy fireball represents.

btw capcomvsnk3 confirmed (Ash, Vega, Remy =Team hotbois, Yes homo)
