Lol, DevilJin got spanked in DR, and wtf, my Jin goes from Middle Tier to I believe Upper in 5.1 and now freaken Bottom…wtf is going on:confused:…damn Namco haters, they must hate us Jin players, it wasnt our fault you guys didn’t make sure he wasn’t so overpowered in T4:wasted: . Also, a few other things, Ky in S Class…wow…and umm, is it just me or why is Yun and Chun over Ken?..aren’t they all Top Tiers and grouped in the same bracket for 3S?
Buktooth already said that he just ordered it based on # of favourable matchups, it’s not really a tier list even though they are pretty similar. A small difference in # of favourable matchups doesn’t mean they are in separate tiers. Not to mention that the mag seems to have a slightly different opinion than what we’re used to.
That said, I still would really appreciate it if someone could scan that matchup chart.
Actually with the exception of 3S, and maybe Melty Blood AC and possibly SS Tenka, most of these tier lists are too early. Hell Hokuto no Ken just came out like 2 weeks ago or some shit like that. =x
i know st rh for ken is good, but if he wants to kill remy i would have to say he needs to get in and land a strong fierce or short x2 with lots of throws. i’m actually glad when ken’s resort to his pokes it becomes a game to outrange him (which i find alot easier than him coming in constantly).
atleast we agree remy should be above alex… i would say remy should be at a tie with necro right now.
wont that touch of death combo only work if makoto gets a karakusa + sa2 in the corner tho? and when fighting makoto i always saw her ground game as an island. she controls everything thats on that island. but as soon as a player sees that and plays from the outside (remy does that well) and makes her reach for u then she can have difficulties. especially low lov ex’s covering her dash ins…
As my title says, i’m clearly a newb. But from what I know, I’ve always thought Alex brings so much more to the table than Remy. Sure, i’ve seen some good remy’s (through videos, not actual play), but Remy just doesn’t offer the mixup that Alex has, the cross up games and his command throws are definetly a force to reckon with (though, I would take out :l: :hp: and qcb :k:) The stomp provides good coverage, as well as his neutral :mk:. Dunno though, like i said i’m just a scrub.
Well it’s a late response and I am bored so why not…
Alex does have nice things going for him good stamina, nice damage, good assortment of moves…
But he lacks in ability to fully utilize his supers. sa2 has only 3 lame hit confirms so you basically need to land that super based on psychic ability alone. sa1 is nice as an anti air or if you see something and 360 it but other than that it’s jumpable. sa3 you just need to be creative with but thats the extent it’s useful. I see Alex as either sa1 or sa2 mainly.
His stomps are not that great and if you see one coming it’s a bad deal for alex cus the player can either parry or block if it’s a cross over, it is good against a rushing genei jin yun though…
But it’s like apples and oranges really comparing Remy and Alex because they have completely different mentalities when playing. Alex isn’t good unless he’s in your face while Remy is great when the opponent can’t get in his face.
Remy has more uses for his supers and a whole lot more confirms into them. Mid screen he can do more than Alex because he has the best projectiles in the game so that automatically gives him more areas he can cover safely before the opponent can actually get in. At mid screen or a little farther Remy is already “in”=]
If someone get’s in Alex’s face alot of his moves lead to flash chop if you wanna push them back, try anything else and you might get stuffed. Close strong and close forward into chop, sometimes short into chop but that’s his farthest reaching poke that can cancel while Remy gets crouching strong/short into light of virtue. So pretty much if someone gets near Alex the Alex player better get a knock down or push them away or they’ll get manhandled while there are more options before someone gets in Remy’s face.
Remy also has a very good kara throw and thin sprite making it ideal to make opponents whiff throws on him while Alex is a bigger guy making it a bit more difficult to move out of throw range while still being in range for other stuff like powerbomb or a normal canceled to flash chop.
Just opinion though, I never see anyone talk about actual character comparisons in third strike (especially with Remy) so it’ll be nice if other people commented on anything I said wrong or if they agree.
Yea, I noticed that too. I don’t really see Remy being higher than Hugo at all, and Ibuki is definitley not higher than Elena or Necro. Why would Yang ever be better than Urien? Big in his own ranking for NGBC is also random; I mean he is insane but…I don’t see how Kim is any less ridiculous. Why is Iori ranked so high? I undestand this stuff is based on
I can kinda see Urien being were he is…considering his bad matches-Gouki, Makoto and all of 3 of the top tiers. I’m suprised to see Gouki higher than Ryu but maybe that’s just me.
Yeah, it’s just you. Yang and Ibuki were always severely underrated. Now when the Japanese tell it like it is, people who aren’t even good wonder wtf is going on.
I disagreed with a few things so I made my own matchup chart, but I ended up liking the ordered tier list from Arcadia more than my own.
I think Alex owns Remy. His stunn bar is sooo small. All Alex has to do is get some trick karra grabs in and a forced knee into ex flash and Remys stunned.
Remys gonna have to do alot to stop a rush down style Alex.
Over all I dont care about the tiers list. I’ve seen Yang beat the hell outta of everyone cept Chun. I’ve see Ibuki run through everyone cept Chun, I’ve seen Akuma beat Maks ans so on…
What Japan needs to do is put denjin Ryu in a class of his own, Its the X Factor. That super beats damn near every character. Mopreme and I at SBO EC quals, Frankie3s,Amir, now Cali Power.
lol those 3s tiers havent really changed in years, Remy isnt considered as bad and Ibuki is moving up but thats about it. Urien is usually overrated by most people and Ive been saying Yang is dope for a while, most people have known that though.
A few years ago, there was a team tournament in Japan between the Americans and the Japanese. I remember seeing Team USA having a lot of Yangs and I think one Ken and an Akuma.
Yang’s solid, his Tourou Zan are too good, especially the ex versions. I mean, I haven’t seen any vids of really good Yang’s here in the states, but over in Japan, Yang players are pretty badass.
So, is the GGXX/ list still accurate? Or did a new one emerge? Some people are saying that the only “low” tiers are Order Sol and Dizzy, and that everyone else is pretty high up there. Supposedly Ky isn’t #1, and the top tiers haven’t been truly figured out yet. If anyone can come up with a more modern tier list of Slash, than go on ahead.
From match vids I’ve seen it seems like Ky is one of those easy-to-use consistent types, but lacks that ‘take you out in 10 seconds’ factor that a lot of the characters have (Sol, Slayer, Millia). Good on paper but less so in practice?
Also, does downgrading DJ’s b1 really make him that much weaker compared to Kazuya? The Tekken tiers seem really messed up to me regardless.
3S seems pretty spot on. Would place Urien and Hugo a little higher but eh.
