New Arcadia tier lists

Anji/Testament…high…oh damn. I’m no longer low-tier hotness.

ease of use + slayer/eddie/venom/jam/robo-ky nerfs (all bad matchups for him) = Testament moves to upper mid/top while people adjust to their character nerfs. I don’t see him staying there. Maybe smack in the middle.

And if you guys are hating on the new Anji you haven’t seen him in action. He’s pretty damn amazing now.

I personally just think that it’s going to be interesting to see how the Guilty Gear tiers change up in the coming months as people play the game more and more and everything becomes more ironed out.

Believe it or not, Anji is the most popular GG character in Japan. And Bridget is the second most popular. Because apparently Japanese fighting fans are really, really, really, really fucking gay.

It’s no surprise that they would pull a Namco and intentionally overpower him to cater to teh fanboyz.

1.So is Kazuya way better now in your opinion or is it bullshit,?

Im glad my fav. HNK character Rei is in tops. i wont complain about 3s.

2.now ggxxslash, johnny was considered s-class when it first came out…and i understand there have been changes. But what the fuck happened? I had high hopes.

3.(out of curiousty) btw, buk i never seen you play any other game but cvs2 and i think st? i never seen you play anything else. you should put up some vids if u do play other games. etc. ggxx, mvc2, 3s

I’m guessing he’s so because when he hits with weapon breaker special, he can teleport across, keep jumping back, and turtle. It’s pretty difficult to get weapon back if that happens, according to sihon.net posts. Odd thing is that they don’t rank him as no.1, they rank Ken-Iroha and Ten-Kazuki as the best.

This space will be left for me to bitch about SNKPNGUSA for the fact that we won’t be getting this game in America in English for a while.

actually that has nothing to do with it at all. mina has actual combos now, combined with tons of set ups for the rdp+p overhead arrow drop + low move unblockable. meaning, the overhead arrow hits you at the same time as her db+b, making it unblockable. the db+b is cancelled into super or mule kick into jumpy arrows special, both of which do a buttload of damage

she can cancel her standing C now before it comes out, which also seems to be a big part of the equation. i don’t fully get what’s going on, but it’s definitely related to set ups and timing. it seems to go something like:

knock down, get over opponent, standing C. if they don’t tech roll, cancel the standing C and do the unblockable. if they do tech roll… i’m not sure what’s stopping them from just blocking it. maybe there’s enough frame advantage to do the unblockable after anyway? anyway, if you try to get up and jump, not only does the standing C arrow hit you for fat damage, mina also gets a free juggle off of it.

in addition, universal wall jumps and a new dive kick make mina a lot better at getting away from opponents (though her dp+p move was nerfed to hell)

i’m not sure what mina’s best groove is, but ken gives her a really good super (basically iori pillar super, but all overheads. unblockables in a can)

ten amakusa is surprisingly something of a rushdown character. he does have really good full screen normals and stuff, but he’s generally played up close. the main threat is his jumping cross up attack (not sure what button it is). if it hits, ten-chain into slappy hands/super for huge damage. basically, there’s a ton of set ups for the cross up that are pretty impossible to block consistently. in addition, he also has some special move in the air where he drops straight down in a ball of fire. it’s controllable to an extent, so people just go slightly left or right from directly above you to make it pretty impossible to block on reaction. that knocks down and sets up other stuff. he has some short range electric fireball that hits like 10 times on block, doing good chip and giving him a ton of frame advantage. from here he can do low A low A into super if you flinch, or throw you (into aforementioned scary setups). on top of that he has a realllllly good teleport which has all sorts of uses, not the least of which setting up throws

the main factors that seem to make anji good are the new properties of his butterfly projectile, and the new properties of his air qcf+p move (the one people use as an overhead)

… i dont even put vids up of myself playing cvs2

it’s the second issue of tougeki spirits/damashi. it just came out like 5 days ago

well someone on a japanese boarda few weeks ago posted what the tier lists they were going to put out was, and this looks similar to what I saw back then.

Looks like the tier for GGslash was read upside down

arcadia originally said that in 5.0 Jin > Devil Jin…

But Buk…Mina’s dive kick ISNT NEW…she’s had it since SSV…trust me…I showed people it on Ps2/NeoGeo yesterday…its just underused…but it is used in SSVSP…watch the match vids…

That is unless you are talking about the old Super Crossover dive kick move…other than that the Yun style quick dive kicks are not new I can assure you…

^ I think Buk said there’s a new dive kick.

Okay Ill have to look and compare more closely and see the trajectory of the dive kicks etc…bc the jump dive kick/ jump AB down arrow/cross up arrow mixup is tough to stop…I use it alot

Anji is amazing now and is really fun to watch. Ky alone in S class. I dunno…

UHHH YEAH GUY

remy might be low but i know for sure remy owns up on hugo… hugo cant duck high projectiles and he’s a big target in the air. if he parries a lov in the air that just leaves remy with lots of stuff he can prod hugo with as he lands.

also the fact remy vs dudley/necro/twins/ibuki/elena/shotos/makoto is a decent match up and remy only dies versus chun… infact remy should be higher than alex! also remy fights half the cast better than hugo since he atleast has MOBILITY. all hugo has is his high damage factor but its a heck of a lot easier to keep hug-o out of that nice close range he likes to be in.

Uhh. no.

Ken lops off half his fucking life with s.RH

Makoto has a TOUCH OF DEATH on him.

st rh… that’s random. remy fights shoto’s pretty decently. but alas, i cant TELL u that online (u just gotta see it). cbk goes over low forward and low rh… on reaction u can cbk his limbs. st rh is a threat i admit but its not as big a threat as ppl think it is…

and makoto has no footsies (no good walk speed) remy can stay out from her pretty well and can cbk her low forward clean. just cus she has a touch of death doesnt mean its hopeless… remy has a game plan while fighting makoto, all makoto has is land random ex hayate/ dash forward kara kusa / dash forward throw. thats all she has. good remy covers the floor so she has to jump.

WOW WHERE’D YOU GET THIS TOP SECRET INFO

OH WAIT YOU JUST MADE IT UP

CONGRATS

That’s like saying akuma has a good match against makoto cause he can keep her away with air fireballs. It doesnt work that way. Once he gets touched, he dies, and he’s going to get touched. It doesnt matter if she has 100% life or 1% life when she does it.

And s.RH random? It’s one of his best pokes. Not every one of his pokes has to link into SA3.

Anyways remy is in the right spot in the arcadia list pretty much. I might put him above alex/necro though.

Can anyone plz give me some information about Faust…and why he is ranked as A class in slash ? Thanks…
