looking forward to the site man.
Like I said to you before, I can help with some character sections and if necessary, translations.
Thanks man, also someone who is very in the loop with the tournament seen and can keep us updated on upcoming tournaments and what not. Also somone who knows a great deal about the player base so that we can do player profiles and list of top players and all the notable tournaments?
Does anyone have a Nico Nico account and can read Japanese? We need to get on that. Also, if anyone follows any of the Japanese boards, that would be awesome, too.
Regarding articles, because the website is starting up. We can take articles from other websites such as Eventhubs and Srk (with permission of course) and it will be high quality articles that are recent and read worthy.
I agree with this as well, it should be interested members and respected and knowledgeable members. (I think its kind of funny that I’m new to the website and will be having one of the biggest roles of the website).
I’d **HIGHLY **recommend switching to www.namecheap.com, GoDaddy overcharges for everything they offer (except domains thankfully) but their whois protection is drastically overpriced ($60/year I believe, when namecheap gives it for free the first year and $3/year or $7/year for 10 domains i believe). Your personal information such us physical address, telephone number, email, etc is available to anyway one who “whois” searches your domain which can be done from a simple google search. PM me for a coupon code to save some money on checkout (you have to pay for a renew when you transfer your domain at namecheap).
Regarding the domain, we shouldn’t buy a domain that was already taken in the past. We should have something completely new, it will be cheaper this way and their will be no issues about legal disputes about the domain or people trying to buy it in case it doesn’t get renewed. The domain should also be a .com domain! Not a .net .org or any other variant. A good domain name would be something thats original and incorporates 3rd strike some way into the name. I don’t have any ideas but there have been great ideas already posted in here earlier.
Is there a specific reason why? Is it for simplicity’s sake?
simplicity sake, .com is often affiliated with the official website of a company. same case here, the only reason why companies use .net or .org (when not appropriately used for their site) is because the domain they wanted was taken . you only save like $1 or $2 getting a .net domain.
Folks im happy to say that things are in motion, please stay tuned:)
Also we need those slots filled within the next few weeks, but it would be nice to know the staff we are working with as soon as possible. Also we need someone with a nico account asap who can read japanese as stated above.
I could do forum moderator stuff, if needed. Been using forums more than half my life >_>. Being a 3rd Strike rookie, I’m hardly qualified to do much else, however.
I’m just excited to see a site coming up that should have lots of organized 3rd Strike info. When I first started weaseling my way toward 3rd Strike, it really disappointed me that I couldn’t find any place with a bundle of well-placed info. I’m sure I’m not the only one, either.
Thank you for the offer and we greatly appreciate it, I felt the same way too hence why I now want to create"the"3s site for all and everything relating to this games and its community.
I came up with a name and I want to run it by you guys, how does"HyperBomb.com"sound?
If a name for a move, I’d prefer a move that doesn’t suck. If you REALLY want a grapple super, it HAS to be GIGAS Breaker.
Like I said, I can translate Japanese stuff. I also have a Nicovideo account.
P.S.- How about shinshoryuken.com
The website domain should be something catchy and something that not the most hardcore sf3 fan would be able to figure out. It should be relatively short as well. Also check to see if the domain is taken or not before giving suggestions.
www.ParryThis.com, www.3rdParry.com, www.3sfo.com (mentioned earlier), www.WeHadoken.com are my suggestions.
3SFO and ParryThis are my top suggestions. And I think ParryThis is pretty catchy.
best name!
Sweet on the nico nico account.
Shinshoryuken is too long.
“Hey! Did you check out shin sho-ryu-ken today?”
“SRK? Yeah. Why?”
“Nah Shin Sho-ryu-ken.”
I’m an advocate for 2-3 syllables that people won’t misspell.
i hint a bit of sarcasm lmao. that name is way too long. if i wasnt a big fan of sf, i would easily forget the name (and probably misspell it).
I did more research and I know what base were going to use for the website, I know how to properly secure it from unintended access (many websites including srk dont protect their website from unintended admin access). I already have 4 base designs from the website that I will discuss with the OP and other possible web-site related people for which one will best suit the site. I’m so ready to start on this site. 'm thinking of making the site a red/black color scheme to fit 3rd strike best.
**Calling Out All Artists! **(aka u aku)
We need a logo! Once we figure out what the domain name is going to be, we need to get a logo asap! This will be used for the coming soon page on the site and the full website should be finished and launched by game release date! (If we can get started early enough, I’m ready to go right now to be honest. All ready prepared everything) Also any artists that are interested in helping with the web design process would be greatly appreciated. I think a really cool design would be to incorporate the logo into the background (which would be visible outside of the content area). Similar to this:
http://www.gamesitetemplates.com/images/lightboximages/Gaming-clan-joomla-template-2.JPG
Except there won’t be a boarder around the content area. The logo will flow freely into the background area. I’m thinking we could could do something similar to 3rd Strike Online where the graphic of the site will change with different characters and will be your main character of the game (once a user makes an account/profile). How sick would that be!?
Domains! We need to get this decided FAST. I vote for www.ParryThis.com or www.WeParry.com, they’re short, sweet and catchy!
I was joking about that domain; it was just a jab at SRK. lol
Honestly? I would go with an earlier suggestion and snag redparry.com if you can. It’s easy to remember and a 3S-exclusive.
P.S.- I could make a logo too; just hurry up with deciding a domain first. haha
i got the guys information for www.redparry.com, he last modified the domain more than 4 months ago and he bought it in 2010. I will give OP his name and email address and hopefully we can get something done to get this domain. What should we do to convince him to get the domain, hes probably going to want payment for it.
