"Never trust a big butt and smile." Poison Thread

I agree with everyone else. It always seemed like Poison would be a better fit in SF4 than she’s in SFXT.
Here’s hoping that will turn out to be true.

I think we can put hopes into Combofiend…hot damn i’d never forgive Capcom if they make him the fall guy…because it really seems that way if things go horribly wrong.

Optimism: I do hope things go well for the guys over there in the trenches working on the game again.

Capcom-Unity should open the balance suggestion threads when they are ready for feedback so look forward to that.

Awesome! That’s a good start!

Another thing that makes me confident about the future of the game. He already seemed like he did a decent job with SFxT as flawed as it was. I only expect great things when thrown into a game like this.

Poison has better “assets” and the better “tool”.
How can Rolento be compared to her?
Soon.

ooh it went through her body. It looked like it spit and went over her shoulder to me lol.

name of the thread should be : “It’s a trap! - idc…” (Poision Thread)

So excited for Poison in Ultra SF4, I have stuck with her since the beginning to now in SFxT ( Was happy when she was announced for SFxT aswell, as you don’t see many characters that represent one’s community ). I have not played much of the SF4 games but will definitely pick it up again because of her addition. Loving her alternate costume

I guess the fact that they tweaking her is a good sign? either (in her current xT state) she is too strong for the SF4 engine and needs toning down - which imho is unlikely OR they are making her better… perhaps LMT will now be an overhead like you suggested? The fact that it wasn’t an overhead in SFxT boggles my mind when a character like Lili had nearly 5 overheads and other characters had overheads that they could combo off of in certain situations. Perhaps they are neutral tweaks, but the fact that tweaking is going on is very re-assuring

if they make it (LMT) an overhead and it is still safe on block… I think Poison may just be too OP then. I would love it!!! :stuck_out_tongue: BUT if we do not get an overhead LMT I would just like more tools in Poison’s game (more versatility for a versatile lady  ). I actually would like Poison to have the CADC mechanic the more I think about it… gives Poison a way to “cheat” certain FADC combos without actually using meter by using a CADC (obvioiusly not ALL combos, but maybe a few)… and isn’t Poison ALL about “bending the rules”? :stuck_out_tongue: it would also strengthen her zoning, and her pressure games because your faking out the fireball…

I would like everyone to get an extra costume.

I would actually like a “World Warrior Mode” and you can unlock extra outfits for your characters (aka Dead or Alive) and then introduce colour editing mode where you can change your outfits and their colours (obviously do away with those really obnoxious colours OR tone them down a bit.

Imagine Poison in a bikini or Zangief in a speedo… oh… wait… ya!! LOL well you get the point, I would like to have a few options where we can be creative with out character.

or like that world warrior mode in SFA3 MAX on psp where you gain experience and unlock “ism bonuses” leading from this, they should then introduce an online mode where you can fight with your customized character (equiped with their bonuses) and if you lose you have to give your opponent an “ism bonus” randomly… something like that - it sounded better in my head :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s World Tour Mode in SFA3.

Peter didn’t go into specifics in the PM just telling us to have faith in his team to do the right thing. The game isn’t due out until next year(Q1 of 2014) anyways so we have alot of time to see how the game progresses over the months. I can’t really say more in the balancing aspects since I myself want to know more of whats going on.

As far as I know, all the DLC costumes are on the disk(Vanilla characters have 3, Super and AE Characters have 2), the 5 new characters will have the pre-order costumes. There is a chance that their will be one more set of Alt. costumes for everyone later down the like as DLC(they did one for every major release), so I think it’s plausible in that regard…and will be marketed like SFxT so $1 for a single costume.

What I suggested is that maybe we could see new outfits that can be unlocked in the game? I highly doubt it though, but it would have been nice. Give the newcomers a chance to fill out their wardrobe :stuck_out_tongue:

I would like colour-edit mode to make a return, even with the bizarre colours that people used in xT (perhaps have a feature to turn it off, so you can’t see other people’s crazy colours.)

Perhaps they can make every second or third colour a different outfit for Poison :stuck_out_tongue: similar to Sakura’s last colour.

Other than that I am really excited that Poison has made it into the game. I wonder what new features and modes (since they are advertising that there is going to be a lot more content?) I am also glad they are buffing Chun and Rose, these characters definitely deserve adequate buffs - I think the reason I stopped playing is because they watered Chun down so much - her matches were always an uphill battle and you had to constantly think - I guess it became taxing on the brain (LOL) because (after the patches/ nerfs) your weren’t rewarded enough even though you would be out thinking your opponent.

I would really like scramble mode/ dramatic battle to return just for fun!! New trials/ challenges? The character models are in 3D, do you think it would be difficult to have a customization mode similar to that in tekken 6 and TTT2 - it could be fun to unlock stuff to customize or accessorize your character with! Could have lotsa unique looking Poisons out there :stuck_out_tongue:

I wonder if existing characters are going to get new moves, similar to the transition from MvC3 to UMvC3? I hope that Poison gets a new special move or a unique move over and above the obvious super/ ultras / focus attacks she will be getting. Guess we have to wait and see how they tweak her… the suspense is killing me though  I’m really excited for Poison either way!!

Oh god, the nightmares are coming back…

Please, no. Just no. SFxT was a prime example of why you leave this to actual artists/designers. People can call the ugliest shit in the world a “beautiful painting”.

Then again, it was Capcom’s fault to provide us with such a retarded color palette.

I agree with Larthy on this, please no color edit, I’m fine with just color pallets.

LOL will it really be that bad? I mean if there is an option to turn off the viewing of custom colours then how will it be such a bad idea? Besides give people options that may want to use those features? And give those that are so perturbed by it the option to turn it off. I would really like the addition of alternate outfits, similar to Dead or Alive (or a character customization similar to Tekken 6/ TTT2). However, colour editing would be a nice feature as a compromise.

Perhaps have a mode where you can select different versions of a character throughout the SF4 timeline i.e. pitting vanilla Chun against AE Yun etc. Perhaps have a spectator mode? Or the ability to challenge other players in a given lobby While you wait for your match?

I like options and features - as long as it doesn’t mess with the core mechanics of the game then I really do not see a problem

There are enough costume and color palettes as it is in the SF4 series that I really don’t think it would be nesscessary. Some of the ridiculous color schemes that I saw playing SFxT were a literal eyesore, so much so that I physically could not play the game after a while of having the stupid shiny colors invading my eyeballs.

And while I can’t see how different versions of a character could be anything but a balancing nightmare, the spectator mode idea is pretty good. That and the replay channel from SFxT would be great additions. I’m a little shocked they didn’t add something like that sooner.

Yeah I can understand being annoyed with some of the custom colours. However, your eyes won’t be sore if there is an option to turn this feature off? Can unlock different colours through different modes? Besides the colours in SF4 are not as bright as in SFxT. Perhaps they could even use a colour grid with an added option of fabric type: such as cloth, metal, leather, latex etc we do not need those neon colours - it wouldn’t fit in SF4 anyway.

I am not talking about necessary… is it necessary to add Poison to SF4? Capcom could have just provided a balance update (even that can be argued as unnecessary? since it is an old game, why invest more time into it?). I am just talking about options or features which could keep the game interesting. It is probably unlikely to happen though, so don’t stress

I guess it all boils down to the age old utilitarian argument… you can’t please everyone.

Neon colors need to be banned…

That’s fair enough. For me, I wouldn’t mind it if it’s a feature you con turn off if you wish, but I can’t help but wonder if that’s something they could feasibly do (or at least want to put effort into adding). No stressing here, just questions.

In hindsight, I think saying if it was “nesscessary” was a bad choice of words on my part. I know lots of things aren’t nesscessary, they’re just fun. The main thing I keep coming back to is that the game seems so full of extra modes, costumes, and colors, that I don’t quite know what could be added to warrant a major update like this. Online practice mode, perhaps?

I like your avatar MaxGrit - it looks like an amalgamation between the sorceress in Dragon’s Crown and Lujei from GrimGrimoire

LOL I know its off topic :stuck_out_tongue:

Lujei:

Not bad.
But a bit too flat for Poison. :3
